I wanted to let everyone know that www.woot.com has 2 GB Sansa Clip players for 14.99. Only 5$ shipping. The sale is only for today until they are sold out. There is a three player limit but you only have to pay one $5 shipping for your total order.

It's awesome what you guys are doing.

Our community hospital John C Lincoln, is affiliated with the Desert Mission program. One of the programs which the hospital employees are involved with is the Adopt a Family for the Holidays program. Each group of employees are able to sponsor a local family and we raise funds and or goods to donate to the underprivleged families which apply to Desert Mission for this program. This is the third year my department has sponsored a family. This is one of many different programs which are sponsored by Desert Mission. Additional information can be found at http://www.jcl.com/content/desertmission.htm. It might be a bit late to get anything done this year, but I would like to try and roll out something in the future. Like you Craig, if I can get some put together I'll find the right place and time for them.

Brady, Here is an update from the person I spoke with at a nearby ministry called the "Caring Pregnancy Center". I asked her if there was anyone interested in the DAB MP3 players that were donated to them. This was her reply ....

Actually I have been listening to it! It is powerful...can't quite understand how or why but who cares really! I told (private name) this and told her that I heard things that I never heard before. I may have read this scripture several times in my life and I never read this or that. Also I agree that it has power for one to self-evaluate. When Brian was reading about Adam and Eve in the garden, I was thinking...this is me. I make excuses, I point the finger, I cover up quickly and look around to see whose looking....ugh!

I do have someone in mind. She told me last week, "Can't we go back to doing a bible study?" She is a hardcore rebel. She has tattoos all over, body piercings, hair colored (which also matches her colorful language)! She has completed the education program and the next phase is a bible study. She started the bible study but was such a pain, we went back to the education program. Anyway, I'll let you know.

END....

This was such a big encouragement for me today. It has given me confidence to pray for another family and introduce the DAB to them soon. I'll give you an update on that when the story continues.

Thanks for sharing. This truly shows what a great tool the DAB has given us to spread the word. Every morning I pray for opportunitites and see more coming my way every day. May the Glory of God be with you as you continue sharing the Word.

I need some help - Mr. Google not giving me good answers.

I want to burn some DAB content to a CD and pass them out with my Christmas cards in my neighborhood.

I burned a some DAB MP3's to a CD-RW and I get an Error on my older CD player. My new CD player played the disk fine, but not the older one. I think my new CD player can play MP3's but my older one can not. So, what audio format works across all platforms and/or is the problem the CD-RW?

I have a PC computer with Roxio Burn software. Any advice???

It might be the CD-RWs....we had a lot of problems using them for our worship team music. Only half the team could ever get them to work. just my 2 bits.... :)
Craig from Illinois 12/08/2009 18:01
I think you're right about the CD-RW's too. I also want some input on what should be the output. LOL
Cabingirl 12/08/2009 22:06
Hehe!

Craig- the .wav format should play on most any cd player. However, the size of the files are quite a bit larger. I don't know of any "compressed" file formats that work as widely.

OK....After an insanely busy fall and start to winter I'm finally able to announce the launch of this ministry that will put MP3 players pre-loaded with the DAB into the hands of the kids at Children's Hospital of Illinois! I've named the ministry WordLife for Kids and just put the finishing touches on the website.
This has been a labor of love and I'm so glad to finally put this out there and see what God will do with it.
Thanks to everybody that prayed for this!!
