Taking time with a friend

I had several breakthroughs with God today on my long walk. One was the amazement I felt with everything God has created. The taste of a sweet strawberry, the tiny hummingbird, the large hawk, the scurrying ants, and all the beautiful flowers. God is so amazing! Secondly I have a renewed desire to spend time with God. I try to "fit it in" now, while doing other things...but today God spoke to me and asked if I could commit to having coffee with him everyday. He is the best friend I have and has never let me down. Of course I can commit to a morning coffee! I can't wait to see how our coffee chats are going to change my year ahead!

I always start every morning with a cup of coffee & listen to the DAB scripture reading with Brian! No better way to start your day! Blessings...Vicki

Teresa~ Your picture on flicker is very pretty. I love coffee with God too. We just have to get off the grid and be with Him more often! :) I am excited for you too, to see what God has ahead for you....obedience brings more than we can imagine... Blessings, Leslie

I love how God wants us to just be ourselves with Him -- and so He often wants us just to spend time -- not some formal agenda or some complex ritual. I had to laugh at the strawberries because on my Long Walk I had re-read some of my journal entries, sporadic as they are, and some spoke to me again ... one was I had read in Psalms about God's Word being sweet like honey and so forth -- and God reminded me of strawberries ---- When I was maybe 8 or so my grandmother was tired of just serving me the whipped cream and sponge cake part of strawberries and shortcake. So she asked me why I didn't like strawberries, and finally if I had ever even tasted them. I said no, she made me taste one -- and now, well you better grab your strawberries first 'cause I love them! So this year it was like God was reminding me of that and also saying "DAB is sort of like the appetizer and now I need to concentrate a bit more on the "entree" portion of the meal." Not sure how that will fit as I'm not a morning person, I have a long day and not sure when it will fit.
So all that to say enjoy your "coffee chats".. I'm sure you'll have wonderful times :)
