Hello everyone, my name is Ian McNamara and I am 31 years old. I Live in Birmingham England. I have been a practicing Christian for around three years now and have been attending church for around 2 years. For around a year and a half I was attending a Pentecostal church, however I found that I was not getting what I needed spiritually from this church. On the 15 of February 2015 I started attending George Road Baptist church which is about two or three miles from my home. This church not only matches my spiritual beliefs but they have welcomed me with open arms. Due to me being unable to see the church minister emails me all the sermon notes after the preaching so I am able to look up the references myself. Sometimes he also emails me the songs that are going to be sang in the service on Sunday so I can listen to them in advance on youtube and try learning the words. Also if there is a visual element to a sermon such as a video they are fantastic at making sure that there is somebody sitting next to me to explain to me what is going on. I am also a member of the church community gospal quire. On the 26th of July I was also Baptised and on monday the 14th of september I was formally accepted as a member of the church. On the 11th of October at the next communion service my membership will be formalised. I have just come across the daily audio bible and as I am not very disciplined when it comes to reading the bible every day this is hopefully going to give me the push I need. After only two days of listening i'm seeing the benefits of listening to the bible in this way. I hope to one day get more involved in the community and make friends with you all. I also like the fact that there is a community of us wanting the same thing.
One question I have is about calling in to make prayer requests. Is the number displayed anywhere on the sight, if so where can I find it? It's difficult to listen to the audio and then try memorising the number to call. I take it everyone has to call the same number no matter what countries we are from?
Thank you very much for the prayers i've had already and i'm looking forward to getting to know you all in the future.
