Drawing a prayer life from a relationship with God
When I close my eyes to pray I draw upon past communications from the Lord to get myself into a place of relationship with Father God. sometimes in public places there are many distractions, for example in church, but holding on tight to my own depth of experience in God I put out of mind the distractions and engage with the King of heaven.

Storemont talks about Wigglesworth saying on one occasion "Jesus hup, Jesus down, Jesus hup". To fill in some English background Yorkshire people of that era put in h's where there weren't meant to be any and didn't use them whn there were. My own grandmother was exactly the same. Smith would say e's ealed for he's healed. But he would say hup instead of up. What that generation of yoorkshire people try to do is put h's in when talking to queen's English speakers because they are conscious that they need to use h's, but they put them in all the wrong places, because it just isn't their natural language. Nowadays with so much media language is homgonising so the real old dialects are rare, now you can distinguish different accents but actual changes of words which the real old dialects had are less frequent.

What Smith was referring to in his simple English was, he gets himself into a place of worship where he Smith elevates Jesus in the mind of the hearer, which brings Jesus down into their reach, and they then elevate Jesus with their praise.

The other day in church on arrival 1/2 hr early I bowed my head to pray until the start of the service. There were a huge amount of distractions as hoards of people came in and talked about trivia. Because i was focusing on a vision I had previously from the Lord in order to raise myself above the distractions into heaven as best I could, I was unaware that around me the church which usually numbers 70 to 100 was boosted by some 300 unbelievers attending a baptism. As I came back to earth I heard a conversation "is he alright?... yes he's praying that's what it's about!" My row and to the front and behind was full of visitors in their skimpy revealing clothes and their tatoes and piercings. But at least they went out certain at l;east one person in that place engages with God, and should they be inclined to enquire they know where to come back.

I love the way God throws in visions in his own timing. I prefer not to ask for God to talk, rather worship Him, and when he wants to send me a communication he does.

Just as I was drawing this private worship in public to a close He livened me up with a vision of a tightly formed rod of intense ashes like the coals from the alter from within me causing a spread of sparks from the fire to travel as you would see the smells travel in a cartoon and shower various people around the church from outside of themselves. this is the very thing that Smith was meaning.

We in our walk with God bring Him down so that they can be touched by Him, with the intension of them engaging directly with him and giving him back the praise.

Hey Paul. That's a nice, calming visual. I enjoyed your little compentary about the Yorkshire dialect :) Amusing.

Sorry I did not see this post earlier and it ended up sitting here all lonely. These new forums have been a little difficult to get used to. Sometimes, they aren't tagged as "new" when a new post is written. I didn't see yours.

Anyway I'm glad you are here and enjoyed your posting.

So true! Connecting with Him especially in Church or anywhere else is what separates spectators from true worshippers.. God bless you.
