questions about purchasing slaves
Forgive me if this has been covered. I've not been able to spend as much time here as I would like as of late. I have some questions about this effort. In no way should they be interpreted as an argument against the effort. They are only things to which I have no answers.

If money is used to purchase a slave, there is an implied contact with a slave trader. Is that correct? If there is contact with a slave trader, isn't this a point of contact that law enforcement should be included? Why is that not true?

If money is given to the sex slave trader does this not make the criminal more powerful? Doesn't it fund his purchase of bigger "guns" or whatever tools he uses to do his evil deeds?

Hi Ray. None of this is in any way legal anywhere to my knowledge. In some countries, perhaps it is ?? but I don't think so. We must keep in mind that "law enforcement" is a totally different concept in the United States than it is in some of the countries in which these sex slaves are being sold out. There are countries that more or less look the other way when this atrocity occurs.

In the United States, this is clearly highly illegal and disgusting. It all takes place outside of the knowledge of law enforcement and of course when law enforcement is alerted to an occurrence, there are severe penalties and even worse, lifetime damage to the victim. Of course none of this could ever take place legally, praise God.

Also keep in mind that the most frequent occurrence in human trafficking right now seems to be that of forced prostitution. Humans are purchased for their sex deeds and then basically given back to their pimps/owners. And yes - these criminals then receive money and become more "powerful" whatever that might mean. It funds their sick habit, yes... and there is a giant market for these young women and their forced sex, sadly.

This is what we are out to stop.

Tara, I could be wrong, but I think what Ray is asking is when we give money to this cause , are people actually purchasing a person from someone? What is the process of saving a slave? Is law enforcement included in this process?
