Hmm, Job is the oldest book right? But Genesis talks about Adam and Eve which is before Job, but eventually skips Job's time. I guess now I'm curious, i have to look up what it would look like. I guess I like how it currently goes because it's easy to follow along in the bible, and i like how it skips between old and new and psalms and proverbs now.

There are many chronological bibles available. KJV, NKJV, NIV, ESV, NLT, etc. See Christianbook.com, Amazon or almost any internet bookseller.
Reading through the bible in one year using a bible in this format is easy and many people do this on their own while still using their regular bible for study and other things. It will give you a totally fresh understanding of the bible and energize your faith.

That would be tough to do... Right now for example...We're reading through the book of Numbers, and it's nice having a break in it, knowing eventually more exciting parts (books) are going to play after them. If we had to listen through entire books their would be an increase in people who wouldn't listen for that day, due to the difficulty and concentration it takes to stomach, some of the recordings of tradition, being so much a part of the old traditions.

There are chronlogical readings that include both the old and new testaments and you can also choose to read the psalms and proverbs in chronological fashion if you wanted to keep the same format we are currently using!

Hey Guys. Although I listen to DAB everyday. I am also on a yearly plan for reading through the Scriptures. This year I decided to use a Chronological Bible. Here's why.
Last year I found it difficult to truly understand the Prophets because there was no context available. The Chronological Bible puts the writings of the Prophets in context with the event occurring in the Historical Books. I believe that this will provide to me a better understanding. The Psalms are handled the same way.
I think this will help me better understand the meaning of the Scriptures.
As for DAB doing I chronological study, I would like it but it is not really that important to me because I have been doing my own studies.

I have read thru the bible chronologically... in fact I did that the year the DAB started but didn't discover the DAB until the Third year they were going thru the bible. Now I am listening with the DAB for my third year and I just would like to hear the bible in Chronological format. I think it would be a nice change and like Michael said it will but the word of God in context and help us understand what we are missing.

Just so you all know, I pray about this every year. There will probably come a day (its a huge editing job) where we have a chronological reading available but the truth is that the Daily Audio Bible is in many cases the first introduction to the Bible for a person. In most cases at the start of a year it's the first time through the Scriptures for thousands. Reading the Bible chronologically for the very first time is not the best way to understand or apply it. The way we do it keeps the thread of the story going through all the different periods of time the Bible covers and allows us to see that over time God is faithful. We can then better apply this to our lives today. This is why the DAB is the way it is.
Blessings Brian
