How to encourage somebody?

Hi DAB Community!
I'm new to the forums, but I've been a listener for three years now. I have a situation that I could use some advice on.
My mother is in a deep depression. She owns a tavern, and the business is losing money. Also, another new bar is opening up right down the road from her, so she's afraid that she will be driven right out of business with the new competition. It has made her feel like she's a failure, that she is going to lose her business, and that she won't be able to support herself or make a living...
I know that Jesus can help her with this. I know that if she were to turn to God with her problems that he would come through for her. I know this, but she doesn't. Of course my mom would tell people that she believes in God and Jesus, but I can't remember the last time she went to a church or picked up a Bible. It's like she is dead spiritually, and this is making her so vulnerable to the Devil's attacks.
I've tried to encourage her to turn to God and begin going to church again, but I feel like she would rather live with her problems then face them with Jesus. Your prayers on this would be immensely appreciated. Also, if anybody could offer me any advice on this issue I would be grateful!

Archer, I am praying for your mom to come up out of depression.
I have suffered from this and can sympathize with her pain.
Thank you Sweet Jesus for Your kind and generous spirit within me. As I have put my faith in You please lift up our sister who is in a deep depression. I humbly ask You to minister to her spirit. She has a spiritual stagnation and I ask You to renew her by revealing Your nearness, and bringing her into intimacy with You. Where she is afraid reveal Your love and release to her Your courage.
Most of all Dear Lord I ask you to replace her self-doubt with a renewed confidence in Your ability to work through her.
Archer, I am praying for your mom and know she will find strength and courage in Our Savior Christ Jesus. Gloria
