A technology resource for Brian to check on
As I listened to the DAB from Africa one day last week, I was thinking about the importance of appropriate technologies to provide Internet access in many countries, including parts of Africa. I want to recommend that you check out some Podcasts and resources at PRIs The World:Technology. This joint production of Public Radio, the BBC, and a US NPR station (WGBH), often covers the topics of how to get stable energy and Internet in many countries. Check it out. You will get some great ideas. Just this week, the podcast covered a really cool idea for getting Internet Cafes in Africa. I listen to DAB EVERY day, and the World: Technology podcast every time it comes out. I have felt called to link you up with this reporting.

Blessings to you as you return home!

I'm not sure if the podcast is still available, but one of the foundations for the internet cafes in this podcast was to use cargo containers to set them up. Everytime I listen to the updates on the Rwandan classroom, i am reminded a little bit about this idea.

I think it was the 6/8/2010 podcast that covered the ideas.
