June 10 - The Boiling Point

Thanks for the Examples
Brian,
I'm a new listener to DAB and was very interested to hear a more complete background of DAB and your story (or is it God's story he's working out through you?)
Thank you for all of the examples of the struggles and the joys you found in Africa. Your stories of Rwanda, the genocide and the reconciliation, brought me to tears.
I especially am attracted to your example of the church in Africa and how they use what they have available and don't wait till everything is just right (i.e.: using the blender to process pineapple..)
Looking forward to what happens next. Just wish I could be more directly involved instead of on the silent side of the earbuds.

Marty, you said you were a new listener, so I first want to welcome you to this awesome family. Secondly I noticed that you are from Gahanna, Ohio. I was so excited to see someone else from this State. Brian does indeed have such an incredible gift to present the Word with understanding and clarity. I have become so much closer to Him since I first just listened and then became a part of this community. Anyway I know your post was addressed to Brian but I so wanted to welcome you.

There are a few of us from Cincinnati, at least one from Dayton, and now a few from Columbus. :-)

Thanks Mike. I don't know why that excites me. Guess it's just good to know that there are other Ohioans' in this community.

Actually there are a lot of DABBERS in Ohio Joyce. And on a personal note, I'm glad you have joined us here. I have read your post to date. You are a wonderfully sensitive person. God bless you.

This is sounding like a very interesting community of believers. (Also sounds like it would be fun to have some regional get togethers of DABBERS in different parts of the country...if that's not already being done and I don't know about it yet..)
I also have to share this story. Yesterday, I was talking to a friend who is on the fence about Christianity. During the conversation, I brought up that I have been able to discipline myself with studying the Bible more by listening to it through the DAB than by trying to always remember to read the written Word. He wasn't that interested in the DAB until I mentioned that a different version of the Bible is used every week. His comment then was "Oh, so it's not a sermon?". Guess he thought that if you stay dogmatic with a certain version, then you would be in a preaching mode.
I told him it's not a "sermon", just pure Bible reading, some prayer every now and then, and some pertinent comments. I told him that it feels more like a conversation than a devotional or a sermon.
He promised to check it out.

Wow~ Well I am finally getting out of the boxes in Columbus! Our move from CT to Ohio was pretty smooth, just very hot!

We should all get together somewhere. I would be willing to plan it for this area...hmmm....what do you all think...

Welcome Hibb. I am glad you posted...This community is pretty amazing and some have gotten together, it's been fun to connect...
