Praying for Guidance

Hi my name is Charlie I am 19 years old and a singer/songwriter. I would just like to ask if people would pray for the Lord to send me some guidance in my life. I finished university in July and for six months I have been doing bits and bobs around but feel a bit lost. I have finally decided to just get on with things and push forward with things, But I would just like to have prayer from the Lord for guidance in everything I do. The readings on the DAB have spoke to me a lot recently, especially about the ones with God providing for Moses and the other Jews. Please could people pray for me and if God gives them a word or message or scripture please write it down as a comment.

Charlie, I came across something that made me remember your request when reviewing one of my devotionals today.
"One thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."-- Phi_3:13-14.
The Lord has a plan for you that involves the innate talents He has given to you. That is your high calling. Look in trust for doors to open in places that need someone with your talents. Trust that The Lord will complete the work He has started in you as is stated in Scripture.
Php 1:6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

Thank you both Jake and David. my problem is I am too hard on myself a lot of the time, God told me a few months ago to wait on him, but sometimes I wonder what that means. Does it mean stop? Or simply keep on going and wait for the Lord? I've decided to just push on and get a band together and start playing shows around.

I'm reading Chambers again and you reminded me of some wisdom from Jan 4:
'"Peter said unto Him, Lord, why cannot I follow Thee now?" John 13:37
There are times when you cannot understand why you cannot do what you want to do. When God brings the blank space, see that you do not fill it in, but wait. The blank space may come in order to teach you what sanctification means, or it may come after sanctification to teach you what service means. Never run before God's guidance. If there is the slightest doubt, then He is not guiding. Whenever there is doubt - don't.'

I have heard it said that you do the last thing God gave you until He gives you the next thing. Often people don't want to keep on in some humble thing once they feel called to something big or important, but the faithfulness in small things grows us to faithfulness in more. "Do not despise the day of small things...." Waiting isn't just sitting doing nothing, it is a time of active listening, growing, learning, faithfulness...

Having a son who is also a songwriter and musician besides his job I understand how you feel. Start a little band, practice and play at different venues. I pray that God will open a door for you. You are a creative person and if you operate in the Gift God has given you, you will become more and more talented and there will come the right opportunity for you.
