Need Encouragement?

Worry
I woke up this morning with worry on my heart. I immediately began to pray. The thought occurred to me that worry is nothing more than negative thoughts. I believe the following words that came to me were from God: Turn a worry into a prayer. After all, God knows our thoughts. Turn a worry into a prayer and the thoughts will be productive rather than destructive.

I think that makes much sense.

Amen! Very practical advise, and it works.

Love the practicality in that, Glenna, great idea. Interesting, isn't it; the negatives have the potential positives, if we are oriented toward God. Nice!

Praying with you,

Tom

I love this because now I know, the minute I worry I turn it into prayer.

I like this, and offer a similar thought. When faced with a temptation, turn the temptation into a verbal "Praising of God". Two or more things happen, 1) my mind goes to God, and the temptation lessens, 2) I believe if the dark spirit knows that temptation leads to Praising of God rather then succumbing to the temptation, he drops the temptation - the "wrong" fruit (as far as he is concerned) is developed. And the praising out loud helps to "resist the devil", in my mind.

I needed to read this today. Thank you so much.

You have the word in your heart, Glenna
1 Pet 5
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may
lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares
for you.

8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a
roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm
in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout
the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Lord I pray above prayers for all of us who worry.
