Need Encouragement?

Seeing Through Christ's Eyes
Seeing Through Christ Eyes

Dear DAB Family,

You only have to go to the prayer wall so see the many needs of our family here at the DAB. Many are serious situations and need our prayers badly.
Unfortunately, I have found myself worrying and praying over things that are not really true problems. It's just me not using my faith in Christ fully. My church had Brian and his family come visit this last weekend. It was such a great time and we enjoyed them so much. It was different than the year before when they came because I am learning not to sweat the little things. I let Jesus do the heavy lifting. I hope this helps someone as much as it has help me.

I have been reading a book called "Jesus Calling" and it's made me feel so much more free to lean on my Heavenly Father. This is from September 20th reading.

Try to see things more and more from MY (Christ) perspective. Let the light of MY presence so fully fill your mind that you view the world through ME. When little things don't go as you had hoped, look to ME lightheartedly and say "Oh well." This simple discipline can protect you from from being burdened with an accumulation of petty cares and frustrations. If you practice this diligently, you will make a life-changing discovery; You realize that most of the things that worry you are not important. If you shrug them off immediately and return your focus to ME, you will walk through your days with lighter steps and a joyful heart. When serious problems come your way, you will have more reserves for dealing with them. You will not have squandered your energy on petty problems. You may even reach the point where you can agree with the apostle Paul that all your troubles are light and momentary, compared with the eternal glory being achieved by them.
I have posted this in two places because I think it's so important. Then after talking to Jill Parr and other ladies of the Church I felt enough more lead to post this. God Bless,
Kris

Kris it is so true that we have to fix our eyes on Jesus in all situations we are in and that the more we know every word of the bible the easier it is to focus on Jesus then on our problems. That's why it says in Heb 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
