Praise

I've found a new church home
I have to share a praise!! After almost 2 years of not attending church, I do believe God has helped me find a new place to call home. Just like He did when I was a new believer, He led me to a place I drove past every day on my way to and from work. One day I just decided that I would take a chance and try it. I enjoyed it the first day, and found myself actually listening to the sermon-something I didn't do much anymore at my old church. Then right away I saw a friend from my old church singing in the choir. I went back the next week and took the step of filling out the "guest" card. The next day I received an email from the Director of Connecting ministries welcoming me and asking how they could pray for me at the church prayer meeting later that week- also something that didn't happen at my other church.

That was the beginning of October and I've been back every weekend. The 3rd time I was there, a gentleman introduced himself and his wife to me. Turns out he works at the coffee shop in the grocery store by my house that I frequent all the time. Then a week ago, I ran into some more dear friends from my old church. And then last weekend, yet another couple that I was always friends with. I have no doubt in my mind this was all lined up by God. I had been wanting to meet new people and find ways to be involved. The one thing I learned from the last 2 years is that isolation kills a relationship with Christ. It makes it way to easy to walk away and not be focused on the things of God. My friend Renee introduced me to the Connecting Director who I had been emailing back and forth but not had a chance to catch up with to finally meet.

I've heard from the people who also left my former church that they had been through similar issues as me. It felt good to know that other people understand my point of view and were so willing to welcome me to a new place. I now have people to sit with every weekend and don't feel so alone. I am beginning to look forward to getting to church every Sunday and excited to take this new journey with God. Already I can feel the effects during the week of having been in worship and fellowship on Sundays.
