2.6.12 call words of encouragement to LA caller

Hello, this is Jerry calling. I’m calling in regard to a man who called in from Los Angeles who sounded so discouraged and so depressed and so much in despair and in bondage. I wanted to call and let you know, brother, that you’re not alone. You’re not alone at all in your struggles. A couple words of encouragement, a couple verses of encouragement that you perhaps already know, but it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 there is no temptation taken you but such as is common to man, but God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able but will, with the temptation, also make a way of escape that ye may be able to bear it. God will not allow you to be tempted in such a way that you will not be able to bear it. Another thing that really… I just kind of stumbled upon and discovered when I was on the forums, there is a men’s group which perhaps can help you. That verse was really highlighted, but such as is common to man. There is probably no man that has ever lived that has not struggled. In fact, Jesus was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin. Jesus overcame temptation and by his power, through his blood, by the Holy Spirit, we also can have a way of escape so that we are able to overcome it, to bear it. I appreciate you calling so much. It was refreshing in a sense, even though I heard so much of your burden and despair about this. All of us struggle and at times, temptations and struggles. Particularly in this age of internet, it is just so easy to be drawn to sins of the flesh. You’re not alone. Realize, family, that we all need to pray for one another. In this day and age where wickedness abounds, grace abounds more. Thank God for that. So take heart, brother, in Los Angeles and every brother whom I’m speaking to. God is faithful. He will allow us to be tempted but not to such a degree that we can’t overcome it. Thanks again for calling. This is Jerry from Duluth, MN. Have a great day. Bye.
