Staying Caught Up
There are so many people who call in that I'd love to hear from on a more regular basis to know how things are going in their lives. That what this is for. Not only for catching us up on you, but also for shouting out to the ones you want to hear from (hoping of course they cruise the forums :-)). With our phone time being limited to 2 minutes (which BTW I LOVE!!) it makes it not time efficient to call back often. I really want to reserve that time on the call-in line for those who have needs or really feel the Lord has led them to speak to an individual. That said...

This is Rachel from Richardson. the last time I called in I asked for prayer b/c I was feeling anxious and overwhelmed. I've come to see that the Lord is moving me and my family through some changes. The 'shift' in my life has been so noticeable to me that it's almost audible. (does that make sense? feels like there's a lot of noise in my head I guess) I found myself on information overload a couple of weeks ago and had to unplug from my Facebook addiction. In that process, I noticed that I had gotten to the point where I was scanning my morning devotions looking for something relevant and pertinent to post on FB that might get good responses and 'likes'. Additionally, I was spending so much of my time reading articles that came across my email or FB page - this had become my source of anxiety and being overwhelmed. I was so convicted and at the same time felt so loved that God would call that out in me. I've returned, very cautiously and infrequently, to FB and info surfing. I want to thank you all for praying for me through this process. I'd actually forgotten that I'd called in the prayer request until I heard it played and thought "no wonder I have felt so cared for during this."

Another reason for my anxiety I believe is because we are in the process of finding the right school for our 12 & 10 year old girls to be educated in. In the process of that I realized that I had begun to idolize my children a bit. I put them above my King. I thought about them and this situation more than I prayed about it. In His revealing this to me (oh, my Father is so kind and gentle), He was able to impress upon me two primary things: 1. He loves them more and better than I ever could, & 2. Don't sweat the small stuff - (and it's all small stuff really)

so, your turn! I love knowing how you are all doing and can't wait to hear from you. Blessings! Love you guys!

Rachel, It sounds like your really a big fan of the DAB and a very busy lady. I totally understand getting caught up in the FB thing and others. When they said "Crackberry" years ago, my kids now 13 and 17 would say that was the third child.

Good advice on the Love and not sweating the small stuff. Something I heard at church regarding simplicity really helped. The ten suggested principles for...simplicity. #4 Refuse to be manipulated by the custodians of modern gadgetry. author is Richard Foster - Celebration of Discipline.

In any event, I wanted to say Hello and wish you well. I think our call ins are really nice now that they are down to 2 minutes. We need to get more people on the forums.

God Bless ya! - Rick

P.S. My prayers are with you regarding the right school.
