Bible Questions and Spiritual Discussion

Freedom
I thought I'd start a topic that perhaps affects us all and that we can all chime in on, something we can discuss.

My question for the topic is, "What is true freedom in Christ and what does that look like in our lives?"

For me, it is freedom from hopelessness. It is certainty of eternal life.

I've been re-reading Rob Bell's book, "Love Wins". I've also been listening to a podcast Andre recommended called "Word On Fire". Also in my daily listening is the DAB and another podcast called "The God Journey", by Wayne Jacobsen who is a co-author of "The Shack".

Freedom in Christ means that I am loved by our Father, a prodigal and adopted son of God. I've only begun to grasp what that means. But others have known this revelation and are talking about it with great enthusiasm. I am breaking free from my "one worldview denominational blindness" and seeing a colorful world of other adopted sons and daughters, each with a unique view of our Father.

Craig, I feel kind of shallow in my answer.

You shouldn't, Tom! The certainty of eternal life is what gives me the freedom to express what I said. I'm sure there is more to be said too! We will see what others have to say.
