What Dog/s do you like and why? + are you a Dog or Cat person or do you love both???
This may seem a trivial well worn question or two, however life is tough for us all in some way and I just thought we all needed a little down time and it is a good way to get to know each other a little better. So here goes....
I grew up with dog's and cat's so love both equally for different reasons. I love Cat's though, (with a moniker like StephenLion that is probably obvious) because of their stubborn independent streak. Not sure I am enamoured by what that says about me though!!!!
My first dog as a five year old child was a Manchester Terrierloss. I wanted either a Cheetah or a Whippet!!!! Still would like a pet Cheetah!! (Did manage to stroke one in South Africa at a family friends game park. Also got to see a mother and son go for lunch on safari in Kenya, both occasions were magical) I dye grass(a nice shade of puce)......
My first pooch when I had my own place was a Toy Poodle, (did make the mistook of having an Afro hair do at the same time, no street cred me!!) Named her after the Beatrix Potter character Jemima Poodle Dog!!! She was a terrific hunter as she could run and turn fast, though as a pacifist I was glad she only caught rat's and mice. At the same time I rescued a Standard Poodle, Sam. My last two dog's and my favourites as they were with me all through the early stages of my MS and at times were the only friends I had, were a Standard Poodle called Nellie (a he) and a tough little Pomeranian who had hip and leg problems but could out run my Nellie and would have been lethal if she had had teeth. Both were rescue dogs. Nellie loved water and chasing things just for the shear pleasure of it and did not have a malicious bone in his body. Suzzie was just so loving and loyal and thought she was the biggest dog on the planet, and was fearless.
So for me it has to be Pom's and Standard Poodles. I could go on with their exploits but I do not want to bore you any more than I have done.........

Over to you fellow Daber's what are your favourites and why?????...............

I'm partial to Labs my self. Grew up with them and have a yellow and a chocolate right now. They love to play and really do well with my kids. Great all around dogs!
