Need Encouragement?

Unsaved Father Having Surgery
A few months ago, my father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He has received chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and will be having surgery in a few weeks to remove the cancerous part of his esophagus. His prognosis is so so, but anynone who is familiar with this disease can tell you it is a tough one to kick.

I have been so lucky to have such wonderful parents who have raised me so lovingly, but very sadly, both my father and mother have never accepted Jesus as their savior. It is so hard for me to imagine my life in this world without my dad, much less eternity. I have tried a few times to share my faith with them, but have been told I've been brainwashed. (Although I think brainwashed by Jesus is a pretty good thing, don't ya think?) But I did buy him a bible for Father's Day and he said thanks. We live in different states, so I don't get to see them as often as I'd like, although I've been able to travel to see them more frequently lately.

I would love to have prayers for both of my parents' salvation, for my father's health, and that God give me the right words to reach them. I know God is in control of this, but it is still hard. I love them so much. I keep praying that they don't leave this earth without accepting Jesus. If anyone has been in a similar situation, I'd love your encouragement as well. Thanks very much.

James 5:14 says this
Is any among you sick
Let him call for the Elders
of the church
and let them pray over him
Anointing him with oil in
the name of the Lord
And the prayer of faith shall
save him. And if he have
committed any sins
It Shall be forgiven him
It goes on to say
The effective fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth
much. Pray for your parents
and believe that they are saved
Simply by the grace of God.
God bless you....
