Praise

Wife feels like she is hypocrite.
So check this out! Wife is unbeliever, I am new Christian at 41. She has been worried that my fever for Christianity is going to come in between our marriage. I still think it has made me a MUCH better husband. We talk about God and such but she has been very resistant if not hostile some times. Then the other day she had to go in for a surgery, after the surgery she said she had to "confess" that she prayed to God the night before to see her through the surgery. She said she feels like a hypocrite because she prayed (in her head) but doesn't "believe". That term she has used often as why she does like/or doesn't want to be a Christian. I am just happy her heart is softening!!! Praise God.

cool story, Bart. Ask her what it is about a Christian life that is off putting. Most of us are put off by the same thing she will likely describe. It's you and your love that is really Christ for her, maybe the only Jesus she will ever see. Praying for victory in your family. It will come. It's a process.

I understand that conviction is the first stage toward salvation. Blessings to you and your family. Continue becoming a better husband and faithful to God. Your love may not only cover a multitude of sins, but help usher one more beloved soul into the family of God. Shine the light of God's love, be obedient and leave the results to Him. Remember, God loves her more than you do.

Bart when I became a Christian it also changed me and the one thing my husband said is that I have changed to the better but he is still very skeptical about the whole Christianity. Can I blame him? No because he sees so many people pretending being Christians and what he sees is "hypocrites".
Your wife just needs to see the light of Christ shining through you and God is busy using you to change her. The fact that she told you how she feels is so good and tell her that you understand how she feels and that Jesus does know her and your hearts and that it is He who changes everything.

God is such a personal Lord! He really sees each of us and all of our struggles and can handle them. And continually nudges us towards himself. Yay God!

Just noticed your praise report, and great your wife's growths are benign. Glory!
Now she will have a clear mind to focus on the changes in you, appreciate them and hopefully come to thank the Lord our God that you are a NEW CREATION.
I was also 41 when I encountered the Lord Jesus and my Son was the first to notice the change in me. That was 10yrs ago and its not just a journey of learning but also unlearning, God took me out of Egypt, then I reckoned the hardest task is taking the Egypt out of me. Praise God, that's His job and His business and He is good at it.
Great to hear your wife's heart is softening, God is so gooooood!!!
