Need Encouragement?

Prayers Needed for Widow
I was widowed July 30th and am struggling. I have two teenage sons, live far from family and am lonely. I am struggling with accepting that my husband is gone and also with forgiving myself for things I said or didn't say to him and things I didn't do. I am struggling to find joy in my life again and also the strength to do what I need to (get rid of 20 years of stuff so I can sell the house and move, be a single parent and continue working as a teacher). I am tired of being sad.

Have you tried to seek a God based counselor? Death is never easy and everyone deals with it in their own way. I will pray for you to receive peace about his passing and that you can find joy again. Remember to look forward not to look back. You can't change anything in the past but you can build a better future. Love you and Bless you, Jenn

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's passing. This can not be easy. My sister became a widow at 28 with a 2 year old and 1 year old at her side. She actually chronicles her experience in her book: Journey Into God's Presence by Patricia Johnson. His death was devastating at the time. I'm also going through a major loss of a significant relationship. Not marriage, but still quite difficult for me. You are reminding me of the importance of being gentle with myself. It is like going through emotional surgery and something was taken out of me that felt essential for a time. There is definitely going to be puss, tears, and lots of tender skin for awhile. This is quite normal. I hope this is helpful

Madonna, I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm praying for you and your sons. I pray that God's presence be ever close to you & that you will find comfort, joy, and peace within Him. Remember you are never alone. God is always for you and has a plan for you. He can turn any disaster into a masterpiece.
