Watched it last night. It certainly moves quick. Top rated with over 14 million viewers.

Is it any good though?

Some things move fast and are pointless. (Die harder with a zimmerframe)

Some thigns move slow and are riveting. (The election of a pope)

I am looking forward to catching this show, probably after it is over cause I seem to have missed almost the whole show already!:( Anyways thanks for the heads up.

Hey guys. I've been watching the show. Honestly, I'm fairly disappointed with it so far. I get why they would skip over giant swaths of history in order to move things along. There isn't any cinematic adaptation out there that doesn't change the story a bit so things can flow better on screen. But when this series actually chooses to focus on an event a great many details are still left out. I'll leave each viewer to decide how this affects the presentation. But to me the series gives a very different view of many characters in the bible.

At first, this bothered me a great deal. But then this thought came to me: With so many people watching this there are bound to be water-cooler conversations across the country where people will make statements or have questions about what they see in the show. These can be opportunities where believers can enter in and provide the rich details and insights that the show leaves out. Where we can reveal the bible's true theme of the God's love through the triumph of Jesus Christ over sin!

In fact, I'm praying that such will be the case.

Hey Byron,

That's exactly what I've experienced at work sense it started airing. I haven't had a chance to catch any of the episodes yet but I've been pretty amazed at the conversations lately. I've heard people say they want to dig deeper and read the whole bible, start looking for a church, asking about repentance and many other questions to help fill the gaps and really the conversations have just naturally flow to Jesus. To suppress it would have taken some work. I'd say all and all the impact has been really positive in my circle.

Jake that is AWESOME!!

God is so powerful and so good! What a joy to hear that hearts are getting convicted and people are seeking answers. I'll commit to praying for you Jake. That the Spirit guides your conversations. I look forward to hearing more from yourself and others!
