Christ is Risen!

There was a bonfire tonight at the church open doors.
Mmmmm the fragrance of burning wood. Flashback …Was that the aroma the Israelites savored at the sacrifice altar as they stood? Bitter/Sweet it must have been to offer their spotless prize. A blood sacrifice required the Almighty. They gratefully complied. Without the shedding of blood there would be no forgiveness of sin.
Without the shedding of blood,… Christ candle now aflame from the entrance fire. Three days ago it was distinguished as we reflected on the blood He willingly gave. When nailed to Calvary’s cross our sins so freely pardoned.
From Christ’s candle individuals candles were aglow one by one.
Hearts aflame with hope rekindled with hope restored.
Darkness expelled, Satan’s lies exposed. Oh Satan you sly old coot! How could you be so bold? To believe that your power is mightier than God’s. Almighty God’s power won’t be undersold!
Our God reigns, Our God reigns! Jesus defeated deaths dark blow.
Christ is risen, Christ is risen! Gone, Gone are the grave clothes.
Victory, Victory over death sting… Sin’s dark curse. Your unfolding love gave rebirth.
Only You Lord Jesus keep us from the depths of hells gate.
None of our works that could tell would ever get us right with You.
Only Your bloodshed removes condemnations weight.
Your life, death, resurrection, and return has kept us from the Almighty God, our Fathers spurn.
Halleluiah, Christ is risen, And believing in His Name we proclaim
His saving grace, unconditional love. Our God reigns, Our God reigns.
