Barabbas and Pilate
Our Lenten series is about the people surrounding Jesus as he approaches his crucifixion and death. This past Sunday it was Barabbas. Did you realize his first name was also Jesus? And Barabbas means "Bar" - son of and "Abba"s (root word Father... more the familiar, Daddy). So his name is/means Jesus, son of the father. Whoa! Coincidence? I think not!

And a thought on Pilate... The night before Jesus is taken to Pilate, he washes the feet of his disciples, taking their dirt onto himself. The next day Pilate washes his hands, transferring the "dirt" of Jesus' death off of himself and onto the crowd.

You couldn't make this stuff up!

Thank you for the insight to Barabbas name. I never heard that before. I truly believe everything happens the way God plans it. It also happens to God's time table. In the Glory and Honor of our Holy Father.
