1 Kings 22:1-53 ~ Acts 13:16-41 ~ Psalm 138:1-8 ~ Proverbs 17:17-18
Today is the 20th of June. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian, it’s great to be here with you today for our time in the scriptures. This week we’ve been reading from the New Living Translation which is what we will do today.

Prayer:

Father, thank you for your Word and the beautiful kindness that we so often speak of because Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. It tells us of the story we are a part of. It gives us a sense of identity through showing us our spiritual heritage, how we got here, and how we got here is because You have been willing to be in this story with people since there were people, and we are your people and You are in all of this with us. We thank you for this kind and beautiful gift of your Word to guide and illuminate our paths. We thank you for the beautiful gift of your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth to lead us into all truth. And so we invite your Word to be planted deep in our lives by the power of your Holy Spirit, yielding a crop that is good and fruitful in our lives and through our lives into this world. Come Holy Spirit, we pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Good morning family, it’s Michelle the traveler. It’s Wednesday the 17th and I just called to leave a couple of words from __________. He is more than enough. He’s all that I need and you matter. Love you all. Yes you…each and every one of you. Love y’all, have a great day. Bye.

Hey, Dabbers, this is Slave of Jesus from North Carolina. It must be an important call today….got cut off the first time but I’m calling, Lord, we ask you to watch over Garth and his Hospice Ministry. We ask to give him the wisdom of Solomon in how to proceed in that. We ask to give him strength and come against anything that would come against his hospital hospice ministry. In Jesus’ name, amen. I’m also going to give you the story quickly about…you shouldn’t need proof about God and the healing power of God, but I absolutely got it just within a year of me becoming a believer. I basically got in an motorcycle accident; and had someone pull out in front of me...dropped my bike, almost ran into the side of them. They were within about five feet from me. Broke a bunch of ribs. Was getting put on the stretcher, I was with a loved one and I asked a loved one if they would pray for me and they weren’t too happy about that request. So I asked the person to go get my cell phone and they got my cell phone and we didn’t have DAB Friends back then, but I emailed somebody all the way across the country and asked to put up on the DAB wall, prayer request wall, that I was going to the hospital. Get to the emergency room and they do an x-ray and I have broken ribs and I have an air pocket outside of my lung, but they can’t see where it’s coming from so they’re gonna have to give me a CT scan. I turned to this love one at that point and said, “Hey, I know you’re not into this praying stuff but would you pray for me?” And that person was in tears and said they already had prayed. I just praised God that they were doing that. Getting ready for CT scan takes a little bit of while and they come back. Meanwhile people all over the world with DAB have seen my prayer. Also I’m texting people about “hey I’m on the way to the hospital….I’m in a full body stretcher and when they came back, the doctor said, “Well we don’t quite know. It looks like you healed yourself, but we’re gonna keep you here for a couple days just in case we missed anything and we’ll figure out what to do about your broken ribs. Praise God, I know what healed me…it was the power of hundreds, maybe thousands of people….

Hi everyone, this is Fearless. There is a person that I need to announce, Jennifer. I was listening to the podcast on June 4th and you spoke about your husband who is a police officer as well. I want you to know that if you want to get in touch with me, my email, I set this up especially for the DAB family, Fearless.DAB@Gmail.Com. I had to think about it for a second. So it’s Fearless.DAB@gmail.com. He’s doing well, you know, working the road. I’m a little scared sometimes because you know, they brought that flakka up with marijuana and he’s got all calls like his first week or whatever of being back on the road. He’s 48 years old. I mean, he looks good for his age, I have to say. I keep him young, I guess. But I just...I don’t want to get to retirement and have …I don’t even want to go there…I don’t even want to go there…you know what I’m talking about. He went to this call where this guy was on flakka who, if you know what I’m talking about, it’s a bad drug out there. And you know we live in Florida so it’s a little crazy. And I’ll tell you we live in South Florida, if that tells you anything. It’s getting bad here and we can’t wait to leave…it’s just….

Hey everybody, this is Pelham in Cullman. Hadn’t called in a while. Was listening to the prayer request this morning. It’s a beautiful Wednesday morning in Cullman, AL. Just heard Jeffrey, college student. Jeffrey, hopefully you’re listening to this. You are facing the exact same things that I faced in college and I lost those battles. I gave in to drugs and I gave in to partying and I gave in...well I tried to give in...to getting with every girl I could find, and man, you see it for what it is. You said you were proud of yourself for the path you have walked in life and that’s a good form of pride. If you’ve walked the line for God and you’ve chosen the right thing in that aspect. The enemy is gonna come against you as hard as he can; he cannot stand you living your life for God. He can’t stand someone your age, when you’re around other impressionable minds. He cannot…he hates you…he hates you for doing that. For being able to walk and do something for something you can’t see for something that’s not gonna give you glory. It’s not gonna make you feel good instantly. He can’t stand it. He wants to prove to God that you’ll fail. Anyways you won’t. Put on the spiritual armor of God, Ephesians 6:10. Find it, read it, read it out loud, put that stuff on every day you’re going into war. If you’re going into battle naked, that’s why you’re getting torn up. Anyways…Molly is coming home, my fiancée. She’ll be home in about 2-1/2 weeks and I’ll be moving out for a little while. We’re getting married August 15. I’m trying to make it two months. I’m abstaining from all sexual activities. Pray for me please, my 2 minutes is up. Bye!

Hello, DAB family. This is Cheryl, calling from Northern Virginia. I’ve been part of this family since 2007 but it’s been quite a while since I’ve called. Just know I’m always praying, laughing, and crying with everyone who calls. I love my DAB family and I can’t wait until we get to heaven and we can have a huge family reunion. But today I want to reach out to Jennifer from New York, who called in a couple of months ago asking for prayer regarding intimacy with her husband. Sweet sister, I want you to know that the Holy Spirit has led me to pray for you many times since then. I know how hard it was to make that call. I’m also feeling led to be vulnerable with you especially after watching the DAB Women video series on Vulnerability. You never mentioned in your call what has caused you to pull away from being intimate with your husband but I’m sure many of us women could relate to your issues. It could be as simple as pure exhaustion after working and taking care of the kids or it could be deeper, something that 1 out of 3 women have experienced, me included, sexual abuse. This means that a high percentage of marriages are also dealing with this issue and the husbands become a victim too. Jennifer, I’ve been married 26 years and my husband and I have worked through these issues and we continue to work through them. If you would like to reach out to me, I would love to recommend some books that you and your husband can read. Or I can just be your mama in the Lord so you can have a shoulder to cry on and a sounding board for your feelings. You can email me at Novadabber@Gmail.Com. ‘Nova’ which stands for Northern Virginia and “Dabber” spelled D-A-B-B-E-R, Novadabber@gmail.com. Sisters, if anyone else would like to reach out to me on this subject, I would be honored to be there for you as well. So that’s all for now, I love you and remember, bloom where you’re planted and grow with God. Bye-bye.

Hi, this is Mike from Santa Clarita. I lost my dad this year and that incident helped me to realize really how fragile life is and I was looking for some way to get better connected with God and maybe even looking for an app that I could read on my phone and I came across Daily Audio Bible and I have to admit I thought Brian was a little over the top with how passionate he was about how he read the Bible. I realized by listening that was just my ignorance and my lack of relationship with God and that how blessed we are to be able to have this opportunity to read His Word and be better connected with Him. So I’m happy to say, I’m a Daily Audio Bible for life person. I even catch myself going through the back archives just to know more about Him. I will keep you all in my prayers, God Bless.

Hi my DAB family. This is Janet T. calling from Columbia, TN. I’m calling again for my brother. He just got back from the hospital yesterday from being in all weekend long. He had to have transfusions. We thought he was doing better, but now he’s having different issues and he’s back in the emergency room so I ask that you would please pray for him. He’s having difficulty breathing and difficulty with urinating and thank God he’s not bleeding now, but please pray for him. He’s at the point where he said he just doesn’t want to hurt like this anymore. Anyway, I just wanted to call and ask y’all to pray for him please. Thank you so much. Love you guys, bye.
