2 Kings 3:1-4:17 ~ Acts 14:8-28 ~ Psalm 140:1-13 ~ Proverbs 17:22
Today is the 22nd of June. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It is my pleasure and an honor, as it always is, to kind of come in around what we sometimes lovingly refer to as a global campfire, like we’re all just kind of coming in out of the shadows of our lives, warming ourselves by the fire of God's Word and the power of his Holy Spirit, kind of collecting ourselves together, orienting ourselves to God. I often have that mental image in my mind as soon as the record button goes on. It is good to be here with you today.

We began 2 Kings yesterday which is just a continuation of 1 Kings. There is no big separation. It was just a separation for ease, so we’re continuing in the stories of the lives of the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah, the northern and the southern kingdoms. We’ll pick up where we left off yesterday, reading from The Voice translation this week.

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for another day together in your Word. We thank you for the kind gift that it is as we so often do because it is. It is a great kindness that you would give us this narrative, this vast multi-millennia narrative which shows us your willingness to insert yourself into our story that we might be rescued. We thank you that you are a part of that story and you are no less active in our lives now than you have ever been, involved in the human story. So we invite your Holy Spirit to come, fill our hearts with joy, just like the proverb says. This becomes a curative balm to us. This becomes healing to us. Joy is one of the fruits that accompanies your activity in our lives. This is the yield given into a well planted soil and we ask that you prepare our hearts as well planted soil that we might yield the fruit of the Spirit, allowing the kingdom to overflow out of our lives and spill over into everything that we touch, everything that we speak, everything that we do. May we do it to your glory in behalf of the King and your kingdom. Come Holy Spirit, we pray. Act in us, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Hey Brian and Daily Audio Bible. This is Bobby. I’ve probably been listening on and off since about 2006. Brian, you’ve helped me __________ the gospel. __________ understand it __________. It has been a real blessing. The reason I'm __________ is for my mother, Clara. She's been struggling with colon cancer since last October. Her main language is Spanish. I’ve been letting her listen to the Daily Audio Bible in Spanish and she really liked it. She asked me to call in and pray for her, so that's what I'm doing. She is currently in hospice and she's kind of unresponsive. She is a believer. She is the one that intercedes for her kids, mostly my brothers and sisters also, but I would just like you to join with me and pray for her. It looks like she is going, it could be any hour, any day, to be with the Lord. I would like to pray the scriptures over her. Join me in praying for her. And it goes like this. Romans 8:37-38: We are more than conquerors to him who loves us for I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height or depth nor anything else in all creation would be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. Thank you, community, for praying with me. God bless you. I look forward to seeing my mother __________ one day. I think one of her prayers is that through her life she is glorified and all my brothers and sisters who don’t know Jesus would come to know him through her life. Thank you. Bye.

Hello my Dabber family. My name is Starla and I'm from North Carolina and God has really put evangelism on my heart and I feel led to share this with you. Over 150,000 people die every day. If they had not repented and trusted in Jesus alone, they will face hell for all eternity. We have the truth that can save them and if we truly believed that, why don’t we share Jesus with everyone? If you're like me, maybe you don’t know what to say or maybe you're afraid of what people will think of you, but we need to have a fear of the Lord instead of man. Do we care more about our comfort for the moment than their eternity forever? We need to learn how to share Jesus with the lost. The Bible says the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Please let's join together and work for the Lord first and foremost above our own agendas. Abba Father, I pray for each and every one of your children. I pray that we will rise up and seek and save that which is lost. I pray that you would break our hearts for your lost sheep and that we will go and tell everyone everywhere about you. God, I pray that we would not hide our light but that we would let it shine before all men. God, I bind up all spirits of the fear of man and I declare that we would give our lives for what you gave your life for, to save sinners. That is why we’re here and that is what we’re made for and we will fulfill what you have predestined us to do. We will go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. We stand together and say that no weapon formed against us will prosper, in Jesus’ name. Thank you, family. I love you so much and God bless you. Bye.

Hi, this is Judy in Utah. First off, I’d like to thank Brian for this wonderful ministry. Secondly, I would like to thank those of you who prayed for my husband's healing. He is doing well with his Bell's palsy. His eye is back to normal other than being very sensitive and needing drops pretty regular. His mouth hasn’t come back up to normal yet, but he is doing well with it, so I thank you. Especially thank you to Sinner who prayed for him in particular. The reason for my call today is I was doing my devotion and I came across a paragraph and the Lord said to me ‘call the DAB and read it. Somebody needs to hear it.’ So here we go. It's written by Kay Rizzo. Day by day God is teaching me to see the difference between my sins against him and my mistakes as a human being. He is helping me to discern the things I can correct and trust him to deal with the things beyond my scope. Day by day he is teaching me to claim his grace and his love that washes away my guilt and makes me white as snow and when I'm tempted the take on guilt that isn’t rightfully mine I can claim Isaiah's word ‘who is my accuser? Let him confront me. It is the sovereign Lord who helps me.’ May the Lord bless the reading of his Word. Have a wonderful day. Talk to you again soon. I love you all.

Hi family. My name is Jason. I live in the Los Angeles area. I’ve been listening to Brian and the Daily Audio Bible for 8 years. It's been a long journey. I’ve never called in. This is the first time. I'm asking for prayer. I suffer from depression and anxiety as I know so many of us do out there. I'm looking for healing. Sometimes I don’t know where to turn. I have 2 beautiful girls and a wonderful wife and sometimes I have thoughts of leaving them because life is just sometimes too hard to bear. Just asking for prayer, to be lifted up by this community. I pray for many of you as I listen every day. Thank you. Goodbye.

Hello from beautiful Cincinnati, OH. This is Daniel Johnson, Jr. I was calling about my brother-in-law and my sister. They live in Fort Worth, TX with their 4 boys. Yesterday my brother-in-law was taken to the hospital. He had a blood sugar of 500 and his potassium was like a 9 – all that stuff needs to be much lower. I found out this morning that my sister had to administer CPR on him until the paramedics arrived. They don’t have any income. They’ve been working on getting his SSD and my sister has been working at taking a test to do some student teaching and all that, but they don’t have any income right now. They have 4 boys and they live there. My brother-in-law is in a diabetic coma right now, or they are keeping him under a coma right now while they’re doing the dialysis and stuff like that. So I just ask for you to pray for Junior and Mandy Ramirez. Thank you so much. God bless you. And make it a great day.

Hi family. This is Andrew, Drew from the Bay Area. Listen, I wanted to let you know everything went well at the graduation. I didn’t even see my ex. I didn’t recognize her because she is blonde now and walked right past her. Anyway, but I'm calling for a lady that I met. I started driving for Uber and her name is Eileen and she is a Christian. She is a believer and her son, his name is __________ and that means sent by God. Anyway, he's got some disabilities and pray for him that God would heal him and that Eileen's faith in God would be restored and that she would feel God's presence and God's will for her life. So God bless you all. Talk to you later.
