2 Kings 20:1-22:2 ~ Acts 21:18-36 ~ Psalm 150:1-6 ~ Proverbs 18:9-10
Today is the 2nd of July. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It’s great to be here with you today. It’s a travel day today so pack your bags. Don’t forget your toothbrush. We will be heading late this afternoon up to the beautiful state of Maine where we’ll participate in the Shock and Awe Show at River Rock Festival up in Maine. But before all of that, we will just take a deep breath and a slow exhale and orient ourselves to God by allowing his Word to wash over us. We’re reading from the Common English Bible this week.

Prayer:

Father, thank you for your Word. We thank you for the humanity of it because it is continually showing us the stories of people in history, people in our spiritual history. We thank you for the beautiful way that it reveals your willingness to press into your people, that you want to be a part of this story and that this story centers around your involvement, for if it weren’t for you and your continual involvement, there wouldn’t be humanity. We would cease to exist. You have put your breath of life in us and you have loved us well. We see throughout history, biblical history, human history, and our own personal history we have not loved you well back and we’re sorry for that. But every day we are moving toward you and every day you reach out your arms through the power of your Holy Spirit to pull us in. We love you. We reach our arms to you in worship and we reach our arms to you as our Father. As a little child reaching for its father, we reach for you. We cannot possibly live our lives without your intervention and your presence. So we love you. We invite you. We rush to you. We need you. We praise you. You are worthy of all praise. Let everything in heaven and earth praise your name, as the psalm we read today says. So we consecrate this day, our hearts, our lives every day forward to you. May we be a living monument to your glory. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

Announcements:

Www.DailyAudioBible.com - home base. It is where you find out what is going on around here. Like I said at the beginning, it is a travel day, so we virtually (I’ll be physically traveling, but I virtually have a big compartment in my suitcase that carries us) go everywhere together. So we’ll be heading to Maine together later this afternoon and then be part of the River Rock Festival up in Maine for a couple of days before heading back to Tennessee for a few days.

Next week is the special tradition that we call the Daily Audio Bible Long Walk. I think I’ve talked about it enough. Just put that on your calendar and plan to go for a long walk with God. While you're out there, wherever it is that you go, take a picture or shoot a little movie and post that up at www.Facebook.com/DailyAudioBible. It is a lot of fun to watch those little windows open up into each other's lives, so plan for that.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at the website. Thank you humbly for your partnership here in the summer. That link is on the upper right-hand corner of the home page. If you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

If you have a prayer request or comment, (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.

That's it for today. I'm Brian. I love you. I will be waiting for you here tomorrow.

Community Prayers and Praise Reports:

Jason, this is Lisa from western North Carolina and I just want to thank you for calling in and allowing us the blessing of sharing your burden. I’ve got a lot of experience of being under heavy spiritual attack from our enemy, the one who seeks to kill, steal and destroy, the one who seeks to destroy our souls. I’ve also had experience on the other side. I retired as a mental health nurse. I'm saying that to encourage you that with this analogy I'm going to share with you, I hope to shed light in a different perspective. The enemy, when he comes in with a dark shroud of depression and pulls the rug out from under you, he is trying to destroy you. Imagine what would happen if an enemy was trying to destroy one of your children. You would give your child the weapons to fight back if your child was being overtaken by darkness and shrouded in by depression and anxiety. If you had the weapon that she could use to fight this, you would offer it to her immediately. Take heart, my brother, because our Heavenly Father has already defeated this enemy, but he has called upon us to take on the full armor of God and the sword which is the Word of God and to fight this enemy, the one that is trying to destroy us. You're not alone. We’re in this battle together, but God has already won. Through his love and through his Word and his Holy Spirit you will be victorious and you will use this testimony to help other people who are going through the same battle that you were victorious over. We love you. We believe that God is going to help you defeat the enemy. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Hello. My name is John. I'm from the UK, Chatham in Kent. I'm reaching out to the community of DAB from the UK for my wife, Helen who is a sufferer from psoriatic arthritis after having psoriasis all her life. We now find the movement of the hands, the legs, the shoulders and the back is really hard for her, so I really want the whole community to reach out to her and pray for her. Pray to the Almighty God for some relief of her pain and that some mobility could be returned to her. Thank you.

Hey DAB family, it's Chris from the mountains of Colorado. Hope you are all doing well and being so blessed. I just wanted to touch in. It has been a little while since I’ve called and a lot of things have changed since the last time I called in. I think it was in April. I did end up leaving that relationship and it has been hard, but God is providing for me in amazing ways. And it has been fantastic. And even though it has been hard, I know that I'm on the right path. But the reason I was calling in today is I just wanted to express how much gratitude I have to God for my life and all my gifts and talents. I'm right here just getting ready. It has been actually a wonderful weekend of music. I'm a musician and all weekend it has been great. My band is getting ready to play at the festival that I’ve been going to and seeing other great shows, so it is kind of a bigger thing. And I just want to declare to all of you and to the Lord that I dedicate it all to him. I dedicate my life to him, all the gifts that he has given me and my talents and this performance tonight and this morning at church it was awesome too, I just give it all to him, the glory of the Lord, to bring joy into this world and to help bring the kingdom. If you would just pray with me in agreement with that, it would mean so much to me. I know it would be so much more powerful than anything that I can do on my own, because together with this power of prayer and this forum, it is tremendous how we’re going to change the world, everybody. So hallelujah! Glory to God!! I love you all. Have a great day and be so blessed, in Jesus’ name. Bye-bye.

Hey, good morning Daily Audio Bible family. This is Debbie in Des Moines. I have a praise report. Yesterday, my husband and I went out for lunch and my husband got a big piece of meat stuck in his throat and he couldn’t breathe. I was trying to help him, but I guess I suck at that. But anyway, I looked across the restaurant at another man and I said “can you help me?” And he came over and it took a few tries, but we managed to dislodge the meat and John is doing fine. So that is a praise. But it also gave me another opportunity to talk to John about his __________ because __________ and believe it. I'm always looking for opportunities where I'm not __________ tell him that I don’t want him to die without believing because if he died __________, I can handle that, but if he died as an unbeliever, oh! Yeah, so my praise report is that it gave me an opportunity to talk to my husband __________. Can you guys pray for John? Please pray for his salvation. I love him. He is my sweetie pie and I just don’t want him to go __________. Love you all. Bye.

Hi Daily Audio Bible family. It's Susanna. I'm calling from Texas and I just wanted to tell you guys some things. I haven’t been calling when the Spirit has been prompting me to and I don’t even know why. So there are a couple of awesome things that have happened. First of all, my husband and I had to move from the Amarillo area over to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and it was kind of all a really, really quick thing based on the department my husband works for and so I was kind of left at the last minute trying to find __________ and I just prayed and prayed. Normally it takes a while to get a job at a hospital and for the hiring process to go through and everything. Not even kidding. Within a week of my application to one hospital, didn’t even apply to any others, this was the one I wanted to apply at and trusting in the Lord that he would bring me over the same time that Eric, my husband, came over so we could be together, the interview lined up with the manager, the hiring process started, everything. It was just amazing. I kept hearing confirmation on the way. Never, ever, ever has that ever happened. Second of all, over here there have been a lot of things. I do have a prayer request. Our house in Amarillo still hasn’t sold and it has been since March, beginning of March, and I guess I’ll just call back later and tell you the second praise report because I'm getting close to my time. But I just wanted to let you guys know I'm praying for you every day and love you. Bye.

June 29, dear Lord Jesus, we long to see you face to face. We ache and groan for that day when everything will be fulfilled, when every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Thanks Lord for including us in the valiant work you continue to do on this world. We look forward to dining at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Until then, may we look to you in all things. Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to indwell and empower us. We live in a battle zone where so often we need to be wise as serpents, innocent as doves, but always wholly dependent on you. Thank you for the angel armies that surround us. Thank you because although we continue in this struggle day by day, we know that you’ve already won through the finished work of Jesus, the Christ in his earthly life, the atoning sacrifice of his death, and the precursor of his resurrection from the dead which makes this same thing possible for us. Lord, you delight in each of us whom you have made. You send little messages of your presence and tender care continually. Open our eyes, Lord, to your glory and the beauty all around, from the tiniest insect to the glorious rising and setting of the sun. DAB family, I keep listening and praying every day. This is Candace from Oregon. I'm believing God for how he will intervene on your behalf. God bless you, each one. He is blessing you. Look to him.
