The first mile is the most Important
Right from the Heart,

THE FIRST MILE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it." - 1 Corinthians 9:24

Everybody faces certain challenges in life. At some time, we all come across hurdles that we have to jump if we are to continue on our race. But have you noticed that when you take your eyes off the goal, always looking behind to see where everyone else is, you often lose your focus, trip, and can easily be over taken? True in road races; true in life.

And another thing. We talk a lot about going the extra mile – and that’s a good thing. In fact, Jesus taught us to go the extra mile in service to others. But we often overlook the importance of going the first mile. Joggers know when you’re training, it’s not always the third or fourth mile that’s the toughest, it’s the first mile – just getting started. So remember, whether you’re training for the Peachtree Road Race, or for the daily race of life, the extra mile doesn’t mean anything unless you faithfully go the first mile and keep your eyes on the goal.
