1 Chronicles 4:5-5:17 ~ Acts 25:1-27 ~ Psalm 5:1-12 ~ Proverbs 18:19
Today is July 7th. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's great to be here with you today, this special day that we have carved out in our Daily Audio Bible history, the day of what we call the Long Walk. I'm sure some of you are on that long walk right now. I hope it is beautiful wherever you are. Maybe some of you are going a little later or you’ve already gone. Even if you haven't made plans, make some plans. Go for a walk with God today. Spend some time with him and take a picture so you won't forget. Send it in to the Daily Audio Bible Facebook page so we can share in this time together that happens every July 7th. I'm looking forward to it myself. Looking forward to sharing in that with you.

So we are reading from the English Standard Version this week. We have embarked on the grand journey of the genealogies in 1 Chronicles and we'll continue that. We'll work our way through these genealogies and then we will unfold back into the stories that surround the people in these genealogies.

Prayer:

Father, may we take this to heart, that our words matter and the posture of our hearts in any kind of relationship matters with everyone around us. We know this, but we build those castle bars faster than we can ever tear them down. So guide our words today. And, Father, for those of us who are out taking some time, checking out from the world, and going for a walk with you today, I pray your blessing over us as we speak, as we listen. We invite your Holy Spirit to speak to us through your beautiful creation; the beautiful, lavish planet that you have given us to live on, the beautiful life all around us that we don't often pay close attention to, the beautiful life that you have given us that we don't often pay attention to because we are so driven and so distracted and so busy. We slow that all down and just observe the simple beauty which is the backdrop for our lives and invite your Holy Spirit to come and speak to us. We love you. We love you so much, Lord. You have been so kind, so patient, so merciful, so gracious to us. In all of our missteps you have fathered us, you have been there. As we've thrashed about in our lives, you have been there. As we have even turned blame on you for things you haven't done, you have been there, like a father, fathering us, walking with us, being there for us. So today is us being there for you. So come Holy Spirit we pray, in Jesus' name, amen.

Of course, today is the Daily Audio Bible Long Walk. That is what we are doing. While you are out there walking, enjoying your time with the Lord, just a long walk with the lover of your soul, we invite you to snap a picture or shoot a little video somewhere along the way both so that you won't forget this special day, so you will have that marked out as something that... Well, it's making a memory with God. Something that we are not going to forget. Something that is so intimate and personal. That is what we are doing, so you want to remember that. But then you might want to share it, so go to the Daily Audio Bible Facebook page: Www.Facebook.com/DailyAudioBible and post it up. And look into the little tiny windows, the little tiny moments in each other's lives. That has become a tradition around here. It is wonderful. So check that out.

Next up on the agenda is the third of the five festivals I will be traveling to and speaking at this year, Ichthus, which happens up in Kentucky beginning the day after tomorrow. So thank you for your prayers over the travel there. Looking forward to being in Kentucky. Looking forward to seeing you.

Community Prayers and Praise Reports:

Hey DAB family, this is Derek from Michigan. I just wanted to start the call out speaking out to Jason from LA. I'm still praying for you, brother. I hope that all is going well. Please call in and give us an update on how you are doing. Just praying for you, man. I also wanted to call with a prayer request. At my job, a little over a year ago, I was promoted to supervisor. I have been trying to take a godly approach in my company and be a servant leader. That has been met with some criticism and people saying some things around work and it is creating an air of lack of respect for me and my position. It is making my job very difficult. Prayers for me as I contemplate how to continue to move forward in this circumstance – hard and scary to think about starting a new job. Please pray for me. I know you guys will. I love this program. Thanks, Brian and Jill, for all you guys do. Have a good day, guys.

Hello Daily Audio Bible family, this is Margie in Oregon. I am sitting out under the stars this evening. I wanted to call in and thank you all for all the wonderful prayers and support that you have given to me, and to my daughter and her family who have recently left California in a domestic violence flee. When she was getting ready to leave, my husband was packing up and getting ready to come down to California and he had a minor heart attack. Unfortunately, he didn't make it to California but he did make it. He is having a triple bypass surgery on Monday the 6th. So I am calling to thank you again so much for the prayers for my daughter and her family. She is doing well. She is getting resettled in Oregon. It is not easy but things are going quite well for her. We are getting a house ready and she'll be moving out soon and living on her own and she is smiling so much more. And she is so appreciative of your prayers. And for my husband, I just pray that you would be with him in your prayers and that you would remember him on Monday for this big surgery. Sorry about the dogs barking in the background. We brought 3 puppies with us – we have lots of dogs. Thank you again. I so appreciate this family. I have been listening for almost two years and you all mean so much to me. And as so many of the listeners say, I may not call in but I think of you all and I pray for you all. I thank you Brian and Jill and everyone in the background for this ministry and how it touches our lives. I praise God for his leading to the DAB and to all the wonderful new friends I have.

Hi DAB family. This is Janet in Tennessee. I wanted to call and give you all an update on David. First of all, I want to say thank you so much for all of your prayers. The Lord healed him but not in the way that we had hoped or wanted. Dave was brought home on the 20th, Saturday, of June. I praise God because it was pretty quick. Anyway, I wanted to call in with an update because I had been calling in for prayers for him and wanted to let you know. I love you all. Thanks so much for your prayers again. I love listening to all of you call in. Annette Allison, I was floored when you said you were hit by an ax in your face. I thank God everything is okay and surgery went well. Please call us back and let us know more about what is going on with you. I miss hearing you because you don't call in as much as you used to. Biola, Tony the truck driver, Blind Tony, Slave of Jesus, I love your openness and how you are out there telling us how to pray out loud. I think it is awesome. I love you all so much and I love listening to you. Walta, I'm so happy you've got your little David back and I'm praying for your husband. Please pray for my sister. She is trying to get her husband here to the States too. Love you all, bye.

Hi, this is Archie from Ohio. I haven't called in a few years. I used to call a few years back and I had asked for not God's will but my will be done in the problems I had involving my marital relationship and my job. Now I am calling and I ask that God's will be done in my life, and for God to show me what his w4ill is, and the willingness for me to accept his will, and the strength to follow his will. That is all that I want in my life right now and God's help in me following his will. Thank you Daily Audio Bible family.

Help me Lord to not complain and in all things to be content,
Cuz everything that is good, dear God, I know is heaven sent.
Sometimes when I don't get my way and I feel like things are lacking
If I search with really truthful eyes, I can see I've had your backing.
I sometimes feel unsatisfied because Satan enters in,
It's then I feel like I'm missing out, but Satan's not my friend.
He's only trying to use me and the desires of my heart
To lead me, God, away from you. He's subtle but not too smart.
The things he uses in this world to make man compromise
Are things their hearts desire, viewed with proud and lofty eyes.
Keep my mind's eye simple, Lord. What I don't have, let it be.
Your eyes are on the sparrow, and I know you are watching me.

Mark B, my brother, I haven't heard from you in awhile. Time to check in. And it would be nice to hear some words of wisdom from my brother Garth in the UK. I always love to hear your voice, brother. Tracy B., Egbert L., both of you, time to check in. And Rumbi, hope things are well with you and your mother and your brother. Love you. And Brian, once again, as usual, I want to thank you and your family for this wonderful forum. Keep the faith, brother, keep the faith. Love you.

Hello again from beautiful Cincinnati, Ohio. This is Daniel J., Jr. Today is Sunday July 5, 2015, and, two things: One was that 21 years ago on this very day, somebody reached out to me and asked me to study the Bible. So every July 5th is an important day in my life. I am encouraged by God and I am always grateful for that man that reached out to me and invited me to come to a Bible study because it set my life on a trajectory that has been amazing every since. The other thing: I mentioned earlier that my brother-in-law, Alfred, is home from the hospital, but I got a phone call yesterday morning, Saturday 7/4 from my mom that my step-father now is in the hospital. He was unconscious and the doctors were frank with her that he might not make it. I put out an urgent prayer request on Facebook. A number of you have already been praying for him. An update: He had a bad cough for a week while he was at home with his grandkids, but then I got a phone call update from my mom about 8 hours later he is doing better so prayers are helping. He is in the intensive care unit, critical but stable. Was aware of my mom's presence there. Please continue to pray for my family. I don't know if the enemy is so upset at us trying to get together at the end of this month. Continue in prayer for them. I thank you so much. I've been going back and listening to the community prayer and it moves me by how strong this community is. I thank God for you every day, every time that I think of you. Philippians 1:3-6. So God bless you all and make it a great day.
