Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. Today is July 24th. I’m Brian. It is awesome to be here with you today. I’m glad that we can do this, all come in and center ourselves around God's Word and allow him to speak to us and allow his Holy Spirit to plant it in our lives. That's beautiful. I'm never not mesmerized that this is actually happening. You would think after 10 years every single day… But I'm still just blown away that we can come together the way we are and we live in a time where we have this technology. It's amazing. So let's do it! We’re reading from the International Standard Version this week.
Commentary:
Okay, so yesterday we were talking about intimacy with God and that God is very present, so present in fact that he is within us, his spirit is within us. As Paul is unpacking who we are, our status, who it is we truly are as God's children, he is completing that thought today by bringing that thought to its ultimate crescendo. If God is for us, if that is true, who can be against us? If the one who would send his own son to rescue us and he would lay his own life down on our behalf, the Almighty, if he is for us, then who can be against us? Who can?
We’ll quote that scripture because it is famous. We’ll recite that as a mantra, but are we willing to live into that? In order to live into that, we have to accept all of this. We are God's children. He is within us by his Holy Spirit. We have died a death to the person we once were. We have entered into a resurrection life that changes everything.
We don’t have a lot of problem living into that when things are fine, when everything is going our way. We have an enormous amount of struggle going back to any kind of old ways that tell us we are on our own and no one is coming for us when we’re facing challenge. Yet, Paul is audacious enough to say these hardships, these challenges, this suffering, these obstacles, these are things to rejoice in. You are being perfected in them. Yet, it is largely in these times that we’re thrashing. We are thrashing all over the place trying in our own strength to make our own way. It is in these times that we wrestle with doubt and it is in these times that we shake our fist at the sky and say ‘why?’
Paul is saying wait a second, if you understand who you really are, then you can be convinced, as I am, that death, life, angels, rulers, things that are happening now, things that are out in the future, powers, anything that is above, anything that is below, nothing else in all of creation can separate us from the love of God that is ours in union with Jesus our Lord. This is an absolute fact. The spirit of God that raised Jesus from the dead is within us. What can separate us from that? There is really only one power in all the world that can separate us from that and it is ourselves.
May we believe this about ourselves and may we participate and partake of this beautiful union with God that is offered to us in relationship, in friendship, in intimacy above all other things and watch. Watch what happens to us.
Prayer:
Father, this is what we want. This is why we come here every day to be fed by your Word, to be oriented to you so that we stop losing sight of who we are. You are here and you are very present in this very moment, so come, Holy Spirit. You are welcome. We fling open wide the doors of our hearts and our minds and our bodies. Come. There is nothing off-limits to you. It would be foolish. And yet we have acted foolishly to lock you out. Come. There is nothing off-limits to you. Lead us into all truth as you’ve promised, in every conversation of this day, in every thought and intent of our heart, in every action we take, whether it be in our minds or with our bodies. Come Holy Spirit, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Okay, let me give you a little bit of a Global Bible Read update. I would say that the beta test that we’ve been doing for the last week has shown us much, much to tweak, but also given us a lot of confidence in what has been built. But the big question mark all along in my mind is what will this feel like? This is an amazingly cool idea that we’ve really invested an enormous amount of time and effort and resources into, but will this flow? Will it work?
I’ve sat for the last week mesmerized at just the videos coming in. It's addictive or at least it was for me. With the technology, we already knew this, they were coming in from so many sources in so many environments that it was going to be all over the map. And it is all over the map, but that is the beauty of humanity. That is the beauty of community. So it’s almost nonslick, very real feel to it. I’ve just loved it. I feel like even saying that stuff is like a big tease because you are like ‘I want to see it.’ The truth is I want to show you and I'm hoping to show you a couple of chapters at least soon, like within the next few days if possible. It will probably be more like a video that you can go watch as opposed to a system that you can engage in. In fact, I know it will because now we need to ingest all of this in order to continue to build out what it will ultimately be and really work with a lot of different sources so that we can see how much of this we can automate, etc.
So here's the deal. We’re not done with John. Man, I would just really, really appreciate it if you haven’t gotten involved yet, jump in there. Contribute your verse. Literally, you are a piece of history and I said when I rolled this whole concept out I am not a hype guy. I'm just not super good at the over-hyped kind of thing, but this is one of those times where what I'm saying is real. This has never been done before ever in terms of technology and in terms of the Bible. This is a piece of biblical history. This has never been done in all of people, in all of humanity. This has not been done before. So to be involved at this base level, ground flood development, this is just… I hope what happens is, and I believe with my heart because I believe in what God has spoken about this, and the inspiration to kind of go out into the deep where there is just nothing to lean on in order to try something like this, so if you haven’t yet, help us get the rest of the book of John. When you see this, it's… I'm trying to think of the right way to describe it without being such a total tease because I can’t show it to you right this minute – it is really spellbinding almost. To just sit down and hear the Word of God spoken back to you by different people, each verse a new person, a new accent, a new place in the world, it's surprisingly riveting for the story of the scripture, but it is also surprisingly comforting to have it spoken over you like this. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it because there isn’t anything like it. Hello DAB family. My name is Michelle and I'm a first-time caller. This is my 2nd year with the Daily Audio Bible and it has been such a blessing on my life. Thank you, Brian and Jill, for this excellent phenomena and blessings to our Lord and Savior for allowing us to be a community. I'm actually asking a prayer from you all at that DAB for actually 2 of my students. One is a 23-year-old first-time mother who recently found out that her unborn baby boy has not developed his kidneys. She is going to be going out of state for an amnio infusion treatment next week. And the second is, she is a little older, a student who just recently lost her 22-year-old daughter. She was having some heart issues. So please join me in praying for these 2 women. Lord God, Father, you are the source of all life. You are the healer and restorer. Please give these women healing, Lord, protection and comfort and, for our young mother, Lord, bless the hands of the doctors and nurses that will be treating her. And Lord, for the older woman that lost her daughter, Lord, bring her comfort and healing and just surround her family with your love. In the __________ name of Jesus, I pray. Amen. Good morning, Dabbers. This is Tina from Knoxville. I am just checking in. I have just a couple praises on my heart. I tell you, the Lord is so good. I have had the pleasure of being with a couple young people and hearing their stories and they are out there telling the world and just living in God's promises and standing on his Word. I have a nephew that is in prison in California that is facing some pretty hard times and he has had a really, really rough life and a rough start. He's fairly young, just in his early 20s, and I tell you, God has grabbed a hold of him in the place and he is ministering to the other fellas in there and studying the Word. He has truly just become a man of God. He tells my sister that is exactly where God wants him right now. He is completely a changed man. God can just grab us where we are at and just help us. No matter how dark the situation, we need to hold onto God's Word and God's promises. I also met another young lady today for coffee. She goes to my church and she is planning a mission trip to Asia. Her name is Courtney. She is going there to disciple people there that have never heard of Jesus and don’t know the Word of the Bible. She is going there to minister to them. So thanks be to God there are young people out there that are grabbing a hold of God's Word and standing on his promises. It just really touched my heart. They are living and trusting in his perfect plan. Would you all just pray for me? Pray for Courtney and for Jordan, my nephew, that they will continue just to touch lives and bring people to God. Both are going into dark places. Jordan is in a dark place and Courtney is going to a very repressed place in Asia. Just keep them in your prayers. You will show me the path of life…
Hello fellow Dabbers. This is Wayne from Maine calling. It's been a while since I’ve called and I just wanted to give you an update. God is amazing! I’ve been wanting to spend more time here in the US and less time in Africa. I’ve been living over there for 6 years and it is hard to develop any kind of relationships when you have one foot planted in this continent and another in Africa, so I’ve been wanting to settle back down here and God has answered my prayers. I’ll be working only 4 months over in Africa and the rest of the year here, so wahoo! He is a wonderful God and I will be needing a place to live, so if you could pray that God finds me an apartment, that would be wonderful. Felicia, fist-time caller, you have a beautiful voice. Thank you for calling in and singing. Whenever I hear the ladies of DAB sing, it just lifts my soul. May God continue to bless you, my dear, and keep you. Hi family, it's Rumbii. Today is the 20th of July. I just wanted to thank you for your prayers. My surgery went well. I have a bit of a complication with some swelling that I need to go see the doctor for this morning. I also still have other health issues in terms of my headaches that I need to go and see other specialists for, but thank you for your prayers. I ask you to continue to pray for me. I'm under so much spiritual attack mentally that I try to fight with God's Word, but I just do not have the energy to be honest with you. I keep on worrying and thinking about the worst. I'm trying to reshape and reframe my mind, but it is just so difficult for me. Please pray for me because I can feel the tormented attack that I am under and I'm trying to recite God's Word and speak God's Word towards these evil thoughts, but I'm having so much difficulty and I'm just so exhausted. Especially concerning all the things that I was afraid of happening to me in life coming to pass. I'm having difficulty thinking positive thoughts and having hope, good hope for my future, so thank you for your prayers. Help me to pray, please, for me to succeed through this spiritual attack. Thank you for everything and for always being there to listen to me and pray for me. I continue to pray for you all. Thanks. Bye.
I'm a burning bush that will not be consumed for the glory of God. This is Walta from Charlotte. Melisha, I'm praying. I think it's Melissa or Melisha from Alabama, I'm praising God with you for your daughter. Also praying for Leah and Darien, that God's hand will continuously be upon them and they will grow in the light of God. I pray for Darren, your husband, that he will stand up as the head of the home and just lead you all into His presence. Felicia, I'm praying for your business. Sheila from Massachusetts, your call, what you shared, it just touched me so much because I, too, go through these moments. I do have a little praise report. It is a big praise. For all those who have been praying for my older son, he called me from a substance abuse rehabilitation center. God led him while he had run away to one of his friends we haven’t seen for a long time and his friend invited him to a meeting. So my son called me from there, telling me that is what he needs. I did not even know my son had a substance abuse issue. Yeah, so I was shocked but also praising God because not only did he call me and ask me to come and pick him up, but he actually admitted he has a problem and he is actually seeking help. So praise God for that. I just want to thank you all for praying. As you see, God is consistently allowing these things and he's also bringing solutions beyond my comprehension. I just praise God for that. I pray against this substance abuse right now, in Jesus’ name. I pray for Tim W. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Me and my husband has been married for about 6years now but have not be able to get pregnant and last year his family member want me out of the house because they said i was on unable to give them a child and they want him to get married to someone else i have know where to run to one day a friend of my told me about Dr Gboco on how powerful he is and how he has also help her with spell so i have to contact him immediately on his email: gbocotemple@yahoo.com and he told me what i have to do which i did and after 7days i started seeing some changes in my body and i have to go and have a test carried out on me and find out that i was pregnant and it was just like a dream to me and my husband are very happy now and even the family member love me more than ever before and i finally put to birth feburay this years thanks to Dr Gboco.
