2 Chronicles 19:1-20:37 ~ Romans 10:14-11:12 ~ Psalm 21:1-13 ~ Proverbs 20:4-6
Today is the 27th of July. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It is wonderful, WONDERFUL to be here with you today as we kind of move fully into our new week and I'm excited, excited for all God will say to us as he continues to speak life into our souls, into our identities, into our spirits and guides us toward his heart through his Word. We’re reading from The Message this week.

Commentary:

Paul says in the book of Romans, “Before you trust, you have to listen but unless Christ's Word is preached, there is nothing to listen to.” In other words, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. That, in one verse, sums up why it is we are here at all doing this Daily Audio Bible for all of these years.

Grace is something God has extended toward us in order to redeem us through the sacrifice of Jesus. There is nothing we can do to earn that. Our participation is believing, that's it. Faith in the fact that this is truth and that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Every day this rhythm of life is something we’ve become accustomed to, coming to the scriptures, orienting ourselves to God, retelling our hearts the story of who we are, inviting the Holy Spirit to speak and plant those words deep within us. We’re every day retelling ourselves the story of our faith.

We’re at the end of July. For this year we’ve be at this for almost 7 months and maybe this is a multiyear journey for you, but if this is the first pass through the scriptures, by now you will have realized that there have been some shifts in orientation in your heart and life as you hear the Word of God, as it penetrates deep inside of you and confronts things in your life, in your identity, in every other way. It reframes everything about life when all of a sudden we have a North Star, an orientation to God, something to put our faith in and something that gives us back identity because we’ve learned how it is we got here. We’re doing all of this every day for that reason.

Faith is something that is required. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Or, in other words, before you trust, you have to listen and unless Christ's Word is preached, there is nothing to listen to.

Prayer:

Father, once again we thank you for your Word, it's counsel, it's friendship, it's guidance, and the way that it gives us a place to put our trust, something to put our faith in. It tells us the story and leads us to you so that we can then be in this intimate relationship with you that we are incomplete without and that you want desperately. So thank you again for your Word in our lives. Once again we ask, Holy Spirit, that you come and plant it deep within us, changing us from the inside out. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.

If you are in attendance, be sure to come say hello.

Of course, the Global Bible Read, something that we have been testing and stressing and learning from has been fascinating. I told you yesterday, you can go see what I'm talking about at www.Vimeo.com/DailyAudioBible and experience a couple of chapters. They are just video. We have to build the whole apparatus that will just do this, but you can see. It's not perfect. We’re dialing. We’re testing. That's the whole point, but you can see exactly what I'm talking about and it is worth it. You have never experienced a chapter of the Bible like this. That's not hype. That's just fact because it has never been done before. It's quite amazing, so be sure to check it out. Www.Vimeo.com/DailyAudiobible, and once you’ve done that, if you haven’t already, go to beta.globalbibleread.com and contribute your verse, put your stamp on biblical history, be a part of something that really has never been done before and help us finish up the book of John.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at the website. There is a link. It is on the home page of www.DailyAudioBible.com. Thank you. Really, profoundly, thank you for helping us continue forward. If you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

As always, if you’re carrying something that you would do better not to carry alone, you don’t have to. There are tens of thousands of us out here who are praying every day for everybody. (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.

And that's all for today. I'm Brian. I love you. I’ll be waiting for you here tomorrow.

Lord, enlarge Brian's territory. Enlarge his coast, as it says in 1 Chronicles 4:10. Lord, thank you for the visions that you have put in his heart. This Global Bible Read is just fantastic. What a terrific idea. I'm so glad to have had the privilege and the honor to participate in that. May there be great success in that. Lord, this prayer line. Hi, this is Bonnie from Virginia. Today is Thursday, July 23rd. I wanted to ask you all to pray for my son, Rivay. He's in Brooklyn, NY right now for the NICS mission trip as he went with our church youth group. As I have mentioned previously, he is not following God's Word. I wasn't interested in sending him on this trip, but he was interested to go, so I __________ him. Please pray for him, that God would transform a new heart when he returns back. I’ve been talking to him on the phone and he was excited distributing the fliers and what he was telling me last time when I had a conversation with him. I know that when this podcast will be played, it may be after a couple days. He is coming back on Saturday. I had called last Saturday, but maybe for some reason my voice message wasn't recorded, but please, please pray for him, that God would work in his heart through this time. Thank you for your prayers. Bye.

Hello Dabbers. This is Forgiven up in Michigan. I travel a lot for my job and I happen to be in Pennsylvania right now and it is beautiful and sunny, but my heart is sad. Dawn, I want to pray for your addicted son. Lord, please be with him. I pray in a strong way that you will just guide and direct his thoughts and his mind, Lord. I pray, Lord, that you will give Dawn just all kinds of clarity when it comes to your peace and how to handle that. Lord, I also want to lift up Claire, for her son. And I want to say, Claire, that I am so impressed by your faith and how true you believe in God. Thank you, Lord, so much for Claire and I thank you, Lord, that she puts her faith in you and that she has clarity, Lord, as far as how good you are and I pray, Lord, for her addicted son, that you will just bless him in ways that we don’t know how so that Claire will see that there is improvement and that he will see, that Simon will see how smart and loving his mom is. Scott in Alaska, your fast, oh my goodness, man. Lord, be with him. Curb his diet. Curb his mind. Curb his palate and I pray, Lord, for strength, that he can do this fast and that your will will be done. Geo, my wife and I have lost a son and the pain does not stop and I want to reach out, and just know that you are prayed for. Lord, thank you for Geo and just surround him and his wife. I love you. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

This is Show Me God's Love. Ephesians 3:20-21. I wanted to offer this up to some of the new believers who may be looking for some ways to get further involved with the Bible. One of the things I suggest, especially those of you with children, all of mine are grown now, but one of the things that I started them with when they were young was reading one proverb per day. There are 31 proverbs, so there is one for each day of the month and some left over on those other months, so that is just a tip for you and I hope that it is something that you can take advantage of. If you will join me in prayer and agree with me out loud: Lord, we come to you and thank you for your mercy and for your grace and thank you for sending your Son so that we might have a relationship with you. Thank you for all of the things that you're doing in our lives that we don’t even know about. Lord, I ask, Lord, that you would bless all of the family that is a part of the Daily Audio Bible audience, whether they call in or whether they don’t. I want to ask that you would put it in the hearts of those that may be struggling with whether to ask for help, ask for prayer, ask __________, that you would put it in their hearts to be bold, God, and to know, Lord, that you want us to come boldly to the throne of grace. We know that you want to give good things to your children and so I ask, God, that you convict all of us today that are not asking, because you said you have not because you ask not. Father, we want to agree in prayer that you would do that, Lord, anything __________. We thank you that you don’t bring condemnation because that is not something that you do. We thank you for it, Lord. We ask all these things of you in the name of Jesus. Amen. Carlton, thank you for all you asked today and…
