Ezra 7:1-8:20 ~ 1 Corinthians 4:1-21 ~ Psalm 30:1-12 ~ Proverbs 20:28-30
Today is the 8th of August. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It's great to be here with you as we close another one of our weeks together down, as we march forward step by step through the Bible this year. So we’re reading from the Modern English Version this week, which is today, and we are in the book of Ezra.

Prayer:

Father, we thank you for another week in your Word. We thank you for your kindness and the way that you encourage us, that you pull us forward, that you discipline us, that you love us, that what you seek is our maturity, that we grow up as your children, your beloved children. Father, it is our desire to make you a proud father, one that looks upon us with the satisfaction of knowing that we have received your fathering. We love you. We need you. And we don’t just need you to get us through this day or this year. We need you because you are the source of life itself. We need you to father us. We’re lost without you. We can’t navigate this without you. We can’t navigate this life or any of the choices of it without the counsel of your Holy Spirit, and yet you’ve given this freely. So we open our hearts to you. Come Holy Spirit. We welcome you joyfully, completely, utterly into all of the places and issues of our heart and life. Come, we pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Hello. This is Linda from Alberta calling. I'm calling in in response to a caller named Andrew. And I'm sorry, I don’t recall where he was calling from, but that doesn’t really matter. Andrew, I'm really, really sorry that you lost your parents and I'm very, very sorry that your brother was recently murdered. And I'm very sorry that your child fell a couple of stories, but I'm very glad that everything seems to have worked out okay for her. I just want you to know that I'm praying for you and your 2 children and for your wife and I'm going to continue to hold you up in prayer, Andrew, and also with regard to depression. So I hope you hear this message, Andrew, and that you keep listening and know that you’ve got a wonderful, loving family here. Thank you. Bye-bye.

Hi my DAB family. My name is Brittany in Los Angeles and first of all, I just want to say thank you to Brian and Jill for being sensitive to the Holy Spirit and going forth with this ministry. It is such a blessing. I love you all and I pray along with the prayers every single day and I just want you all to know that you are being prayed for. I'm reaching out to you all, my family, just to pray over the city that I live in and work in, South Los Angeles specifically. I don’t live in the direct area, but I work in the area and there has been an increased amount of gang activity. South Los Angeles is kind of notorious for gang activity, but it has been more severe recently. I just ask that you cover that area with your prayers and the hearts of the young men and young women who are taking lives, I just pray that the Holy Spirit overtakes them, that God sends his Holy Spirit into these people and the mind of God will take over the mind of Satan who is trying to control their minds and tell them to take other people's lives. I love you all and I pray that you storm the heavens with me to pray for the land and for the lives here. I'm just so grateful for this opportunity to share burdens with you all. I love you and I thank the Lord for you and this ministry. Have an amazing day. Bye.

Hi family. This is a Melisa from Albertville, AL. Andrew, I heard your call today and it brought me to tears. I am praying for you. You're not alone. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around you and comfort you, strengthen your wife and your children. Patrick, your son you say is an alcoholic because he was abused as a child. I was molested and I ran to everything and everybody, but when I ran to Jesus, he mended my broken heart, so I'm praying for him. Sam, Sidney, Grace, Serena, and Judah (yah! I got it!!), I love for you to call and I praise God for your new job. I'm praying for you, my brother. Sinner, we miss you. Please call in. Joe and Christy, thank you for praying for my family and my girls. And Sonika, I'm praying for Kendra and Ron. I'm praying that God will break that heroin addiction. Drugs are nothing but mess from hell and from the devil and we’re going to pray for him. I love you all. Brian, I love you so much. I love you, Jill, your children. I love this whole community. Y’all are just my family. I love you so much. Talk to you all later. Bye.

I say with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, my Savior and King of my life. But when I examine the choices I’ve made, the truth cuts through these words like a knife and clearly reveals that pleasure was my lord, it was also my truth and my light. I served it with gladness and I served it with zeal in daylight as well as the night. I brought it my first fruits. I brought it my last. In fact, I brought it my all. I gave it my time with little remorse, winter, spring, summer and fall. I am not deceived and neither is God. I'm reaping right now what I’ve sown, because serving the god of pleasure is corruption of flesh and that is the only fruits that I’ve grown. But this too shall pass and each day God gives us a chance to renew, make him the King and give him all the things a king is due. Thank you, God, for reconciliation and access to Spirit and Son and I'm thankful right now that at least in my life renewal has already begun. Knowing and accepting your Son are two different things. BlindTony1016@gmail.com. I ask for your prayers, Daily Audio Bible family, because today my grandson got shot. Pray for him. His name is Denzel and his mother's name is Nissi. That is my daughter. They live in Atlantic City. Someone got out of a cab and opened up fire on everybody. Five people got shot and my grandson was…

G’day. It's Mark the teacher here from Australia. I haven’t called in for a while. It has been a bit of a rough year for our family. I am a bit behind listening to the DAB, but I am still listening. Yes, please continue to pray for us as a family. Our eldest daughter got back from __________ and that was wonderful. She did a missionary stint there, so it is wonderful to have her back. Our other daughter is finding it hard to adjust and it is a bit difficult sometimes, but we are seeing lots of progress and thank you. Yeah, so I am still around and I keep listening and praying along with the prayers I hear, so it is awesome to hear from everyone again and look forward to seeing what God does this year in all things. Amen. Thanks guys.

Hi DAB family. This is Tina from Knoxville. I just wanted to check in. I just wanted to say thank you, Brian and Jill and just the DAB family. You guys have been such a blessing to me. I only started listening a few months ago, but listen every day and it's just a blessing. I cannot tell you what an impact it has had on me. I’ve been struggling a little bit, going through some rough times, as we all do, and just to be able to get up every morning and listen is just a real, real gift. God lately has been so merciful to me and my husband and has just bestowed upon us the gift of employment, which we needed, and has been answering prayers for us. His mercies are upon us. I just want to just say being able to pray with you all and pray for you all and just to be able to get out of myself has been a true blessing. Mercy is not easy to give, but it carries us into a place of great freedom and power, freedom from bitterness and anger and power to love in a way that conquers pride and fear. So we just thank you for that, Lord. Just a reminder: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23. Lord, feelings of love seem to ebb and flow and too often my actions are the result of my overly sensitive nature. Thank you for your love which flows like a steady stream. Thank you for mercies that never dry up as seasonal brooks do. Help my love to be more like yours today. Keep me from selfishly withholding or retracting it whether I'm hurt, angry, or disappointed. Let love flow more.

Hey DAB family. This is Byron out in Florida. I'm calling while I'm driving, so I hope this comes through. I just wanted to give praise, honor and glory to God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ for what he's done today. I saw something amazing. Our church has this ministry where we go out and knock on doors on one particular Saturday of the month and down here in Florida it has just been raining, raining, raining, raining, raining, raining, raining, raining, so we cancelled it for today and we weren’t going to do it, but we still had our prayer breakfast where we got together. We were just going to break up after that, but when we came out the sun was just shining and an older gentleman came up to me and said, “You know, you want to go knock on a door?” I'm like, “No, I got other stuff I gotta do.” And I __________ and then the Holy Spirit just spoke to me and said, “Weren’t you praying before you got here that you could be paired up with somebody and go and do this?” I was like, you know what? That was exactly what I prayed for. So I went out and the very first house we went to a gentleman answered the door and got saved. He prayed the prayer of salvation and God saved him. As soon as he finished his prayer, his wife opens the door with a little child and she prayed the prayer and gets saved and the whole family, the whole household, just like it says in the Bible was saved. It was awesome! It was beautiful! It was amazing! The first house! God is so good. Please pray for this family. The man's name is Joe. The lady's name is Sasha. They have a little child and another one on the way. Please pray that the salvation that they accepted today be true in their lives and just creates great fruit. Please lift them up in prayer that they don’t get lost and that they go where they need to go. I just had to call and give praise and pray to God __________. I love you guys. Talk to you later.

(Singing) My Israel, my Adonai-Elohim, Adonai __________. Hello family. This is Rebecca, daughter of the King from Nebraska. I just want to say how much I love you all and I'm praying with you. Rebecca from Michigan, I am praying Psalm 34 for you. That young lions suffer, want and hunger but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. So Father, I ask you to open doors for her that no man can shut and provide richly for all of her needs, in Jesus’ name. Allison from Oklahoma, I'm lifting up your dad and your grandson and cover them with the blood of Yeshua for protection for them and blessing, for family unity for you. Diane, your pastor's wife who is suffering from cancer and the bad news, O Lord, I call on your name and pray for your mercy, that you would encourage her, that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Bless her, Lord. Heal her from the top of her head to the bottom of her toes. Walta, I love listening to your voice. Thank you so much for all your prayers for everyone who calls in. I love to hear you and I lift up your family, your sons and your husband, and I pray for unity and restoration and the love of God that drives away all of our fears. I pray for that love to just overwhelm your family, in Jesus’ name. That's all family. Love you all. Bye-bye.
