Ezra 10:1-44 ~ 1 Corinthians 6:1-20 ~ Psalm 31:9-18 ~ Proverbs 21:3
Today is the 10th of August. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It's great to be here with you today. It always is and there is always this anticipation (what happens next?) as we take these stories and place them in our hearts and invite the Holy Spirit to plant them deep within us. And so we continue forward, reading from the book of Ezra today and this week we’re reading from the New American Bible.

Prayer:

Father, we need your Holy Spirit to even know what is right and just in our own power and in our own strength we just get lost in the fog of life. We just get lost in the minutia of all of the little and tiny decisions and even big decisions that every day brings us. It can be just overwhelming because we’re trying to be our own sovereign and we’re trying to invoke you when we’re in trouble. To be just and right, this is outside of our own ability. It is only what you bring up within us that allows us to see clearly. So we invite, as we do most every day, your Holy Spirit to come because frankly we are blind. We are blind without your sight. We are lost without you. We are eternally separated from you without your grace and mercy in our lives and so come, we are desperate for you. Come. Lead us into all truth. You’ve promised this to us and we desperately need this, so we open ourselves fully, body, mind, will, heart, motivations, deeds, actions, ambitions, everything about us we open to you, to your examination, to your counsel, to your comfort, to your rebuke. Come, we are yours. Because of that, you are ours in this intimate friendship and relationship that you’ve offered. We invite that fully this very day, this very moment. Come Jesus, we pray in your name. Amen.

Announcements:

Www.DailyAudioBible.com is the website. It is home base. It is where you find out what's going on around here, and we’ve been talking for the last week about Reframe. Reframe is what is going on around here. The Reframe book is coming. It is coming October 1, but you can jump on and get involved now and dive in now by visiting www.ReframeBook.com. Of course, the book doesn’t come until October and there is nothing I can do about that, even though I wish I could. That is the date that has been set and you can order it. But we have some things that can kind of get you started in that.

If you pre-order Reframe, we’ve got 3 things that you’ll get immediately. One of them is one of the films from the Reframe Film Series. We shot 5 films that are just really beautiful and are great for personal use and perfect for group study. They are lovely, very proud of that effort. It was a lot of work, but very proud of it. We’ll give you one of those, the first one of those right now to kind of get you started. Chapter 1 of the book has been made available, so you’ll get that to get started. And then a couple of songs from Jill, which is fun because she has been working hard, we’ve both been working hard as we can grab time to dive into the studio and create this project. So we’ll give you a couple of songs from that ahead of its release. So check that out: Www.ReframeBook.com. And thank you profoundly for diving into that. I believe with all of my heart, really all of my heart it is a very important work. I worked my heart out and it is…yeah, it is important. So check that out: Www.ReframeBook.com.

This coming weekend I will be turning my attention…we just did this long extended summer festival tour and it was beautiful and exhausting and all that travel can be, but now that we’re clear of that, I turn my own heart and mind to the Reframe message and I’ll be looking forward to beginning that this coming weekend, the 15th and 16th, so Saturday and Sunday. I’ll be at the Penn Theatre in Plymouth, MI at the Heartbeat of Plymouth and you, if you are in the area or want to come in, you can visit www.HeartbeatofPlymouth.com for more information, we’ll have a great time together.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, if you find it is life-giving to you and that the community matters to you, then thank you for allowing the community to exist at all. Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Hello and good morning Daily Audio Bible family. This is Jay from New Jersey just calling in to touch base with my wonderful family. How's everybody doing? For those of you who aren’t doing well, remember God is with you. For those of you that are doing excellent, thank God for his joy and his peace that he has blessed you with today. Here in New Jersey it is such a sunny, warm morning today. I thank God for that because I do not like the winter. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Mighty God, for your precious love, your wonderful grace, your mighty power, your unbelievable forgiveness. Father, we thank you now for the very opportunity to sit here and pray with each other around the world. Mighty God, we thank you for the opportunity to get up and go to work and get up and call our friends and get up and look in the mirror and get up and just exist. Father, we thank you. Father, we thank you for Brian and Jill. We thank you for this wonderful ministry, the Daily Audio Bible. Father, we lift up those this morning who are much less fortunate than ourselves. We lift those up this morning, Mighty God, that are suffering from pain, suffering from depression, suffering from sickness and disease. Father, we thank you for this opportunity to lift them up to you and pray for them in the name of Jesus Christ, for their healing and your divine will in their situation. We thank you now for your love and your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen. Daily Audio Bible family, remember you are blessed in the name of Jesus Christ. Have a wonderful and amazing day. I love you.

Hello fellow Dabbers. It's Carlton, the truck driver from Saskatchewan and I'm just calling to say I'm with you all and praying with you during the prayer requests. Thank you, Brian, for continuing to be faithful in this ministry and for leading us in a reframe. My life is being reframed for me quite drastically. It's time to take some action. I’ve been struggling with the creed and especially, I believe, in the forgiveness of sins because I’ve gone the last 10 years without having experienced forgiveness in my relationship. I wounded my wife terribly and it looks like that part of my life is at its end. We are not going to make it to our 33rd anniversary together. We’ve been married for 33 years come August 28th. She just hasn’t been able to move past what happened in 2004 and the years before that. I'm very thankful for Sexaholics Anonymous that has helped me with struggling through my addiction that I dealt with for most of my life and I'm glad to be getting free of that. It is time for a new chapter in life to begin. I don’t believe that we are supposed to continue to be punished for our whole life because of sins in the past, but not everybody agrees. So sadly it is time to say goodbye. Happily there is something to say hello to. God has opened some doors for me with an opportunity to make a new life and going back to my old home, so thank you for those that are praying. I continue to join with you.

Hello Daily Audio Bible family. This is Delta Alpha Foxtrot reporting from the Southern Texas Front. I'm calling in an emergency prayer request for Marvie. I called in before for my friend Clem. Clem has just been under tremendous spiritual attack. Right now Marvie is really sick. She has pneumonia, kidneys and liver are in distress. Daily Audio Bible family, I need you guys the lift them up and just pray healing, pray the power of the blood of Christ over Marvie, just to renew every cell, every piece of tissue into fully functioning, God-glorious function. Thank you so much, family. Love you all. I’ll call and give you guys a praise report and followup because by faith I'm declaring her healed. Thank you all for everything. Thank you, Brian. Love you all. This is Delta Alpha Foxtrot reporting from the Southern Texas Front.

Hello Daily Audio Bible. My name is Clarice and I'm from Wisconsin. This is the first time that I’ve ever called, but I just heard Andrew from Southern California call in on July 31st about what has gone on in his life and I was so moved by the loss that he has had with his mother when he was young and then his father and more recently his only brother, his life-long friend as a dog, and now his daughter getting hurt. Please remember, Andrew, you're not alone. There are all of us here praying for you and our Lord will be there for you to help you through this and your family through this most difficult time. We all think we have such struggles in our lives, but Andrew, know that God is with us. He will help you through. God bless you all. Thank you.

This is Blessed Like Me and I just wanted to let you know that you are truly blessed just like me. August 4th is the anniversary of my getting out of prison. It was Blessed Like Me versus the United States of America Federal Prison, but I got out and God blessed me and continued to bless me, continued to bless me and continued to bless me and I'm here where I am now because of God. But today I want to talk with you about soaking in hope. You are soaked in hope. No one enjoys a steak that has not been marinated in something, that has been set in something for a while to allow it to absorb all the seasonings and spices that are in it, so when that steak is eaten it has been marinating and it has soaked in something else. We want to soak in hope. We want to be hopeful people that are so absorbed with the things of God, the things of Jesus that we become soaked, we become drenched. When someone is tired and heavy-laden, they like to get in the bath and take a long bath. They like to soak. When they soak, they get out feeling refreshed and clean. So it is with having our hope in Jesus. We come out feeling clean when we soak ourselves in Jesus, when we get in the Word with Jesus, when we think about Jesus, when we pray to God. When we do all these things our mind and our bodies and our spirits become soaked, so I want to just share with you how important it is for children of God to soak in hope. You have to soak in hope. Soak in hope. Our hope is in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ will never leave you nor forsake you. He won't fail you. He is our king and our redeemer. So soak in hope, people. Soak in hope. Have a great day. Thanks, Brian and Jill, for this ministry.

Morning, this is Carrie from Thailand. I rang in some time ago about a friend of mine from Wisconsin, Veeta with breast cancer and thank you for all your prayers. She is doing much better. Now I’ve got a big prayer request to bring before you today. I work in Thailand with children and their family director has been diagnosed with cancer of the ear. He has already lost one ear to cancer and he is standing in faith for God to heal him and he is refusing treatment and believing that God will come through for him. I would just like you to get behind him in prayer with us and that you would pray to see this thing gone from him in the name of Jesus. Thank you for all your prayers. See you later.

Hey Daily Audio Bible family. It is James here from the UK. It's been a while since I’ve called in and I think some of you have been praying and I really thank you so much for your prayers regarding my parents. My dad had a stroke the end of last year and we’ve been struggling. My mom especially, although they have been doing fantastically, I think, emotionally. It has been such a huge thing and they are doing much better. Dad is getting a lot stronger and overall I'm seeing great progress. His epilepsy which was really creating havoc in terms of his recovery seems to have subsided and the medication he is on seems to be doing a much better job now, so I just want to thank you so much. I know I don’t always hear people praying in, calling in saying they are praying for me, but I know in my heart that there are still people out there that remembered my call and continue to just hold Marilyn and Stephen up in prayer, so I really want to say thank you if you are doing that. It is just such a blessing to me to know that there are others out there that are just helping me shoulder this with them. I also expressly wanted to call in today to lift up Alex. Alex, you called in a while ago and you talked about the fact that you were agnostic at the moment, your wife and your children are kind of getting much more involved in church life and I could really tell from your tone on the phone you were just really desperately and deeply seeking earnestly what is this Christian faith, what does this really look like for you. And I just respect you so much for calling in. I thank you so much for calling in, for giving us the opportunity to…
