Today is the 17th of August. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It’s great to be here with you. A little tired. Great time at the Heartbeat of Plymouth. Wonderful to see all of you who came to visit. That was fun, but now back in the rolling hills of Tennessee I'm glad to be home. I'm glad to be here with you as we once again take a step forward in our journey through the scriptures this year. This week we are reading from the Names of God Bible. Today we will conclude the book of Nehemiah.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for this week to spend together in your Word and thank you for your Word. How we thank you for your Word, for the way that it shines light into our hearts, exposing all kinds of things, but also just bringing up all kinds of things, continually surfacing things in us that you bring to mind, and by the power of your Holy Spirit we submit them to you, invite you to place them in our lives where they belong. You are a good God and you have given us a good gift in your Word and we love you for that. We thank you and invite you by the power of your Holy Spirit to plant these words in our lives this day and lead us into all truth as you’ve promised as we walk together intimately in friendship with you. Come Holy Spirit, we pray. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports
Hey guys, Pastor Gene from Bradenton, FL. Please, please, if you can lift me up in prayer. My husband is in the hospital. I just visited him and he is struggling. I'm sure he will be better. So pray for wisdom for the doctors and pray for our family and ministry. We’re just very tired. And let's pray. Father, I thank you for John. He feels he is fighting on his own, but you are with him just as you are with my John. You are with this John and you have not forgotten him. Father, I thank you for Laura from __________, I am trusting, Lord, that now her legal case has been resolved and I pray that she will be a comfort to others and that her relationship with you continues to thrive. Father, I pray for Curtis from Houston. His in-laws are over 80 years old, they are in dialysis. He has young kids that he is homeschooling. He has lost his income. O God, it seems like a lot to handle on his own, but he is not alone. He's with you, so I pray that your strength and mighty power would equip him and his wife to do what you’ve called him to do. Father, I pray for Alan from Davie, FL. I thank you for his victory over homosexuality. Father, I thank you that although without Christ we are powerless, once your Holy Spirit embodies us, we are able to identify sin for what it is. Thank you for Alan's victory. Give him a special anointing and an extensive amount of love to minister to others that struggle with what used to be his struggle. Father, I pray for Tricia, the sister of Becky. Too much medication may be affecting her __________ in her mind and know that mentally all this is horrible. I pray for your intervention. In the mighty name of your son, Jesus Christ, I pray. Hi Daily Audio Bible family. This is Chelly in Pennsylvania and I'm calling with wonderful news. I am getting married. About 2 weeks ago I was going to call and just say a prayer of thanks to God for putting in my life such a wonderful, godly, encouraging man. Along with this community, he has helped strengthen my faith, led me closer to the Lord, challenged me when I needed to be challenged and just in conjunction with my 8 months, maybe, regularly listening to the DAB, it has been an amazing spiritual experience. And then a week ago he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and I said yes. So I'm really excited, really happy and now we’re planning a wedding. I need to know what I want, where should I get married, and all that fun stuff, so please pray for me to __________ wonderful time. Thank you all. And I have a million prayer requests to call in at some point and obviously I'm terrible at doing that. I hope to call in soon.

This is my first time calling and I would like to ask for prayers to help me in school, help me get up earlier so I can get my work done faster and not to argue with my mom, and school because I'm homeschooled and I would just like you all to pray for me. Hello DAB family. This is Humbled in Texas. I’ve been listening to the DAB for almost 2 years now, but this is my first time to call in. I say humbled not because I am humble, but because I have been humbled by God in his love and in his mercy. In my pride I lived independently from my Savior, but when I was brought low, I finally recognized my utter need for and dependence on him, so I must give him praise for his tender, loving kindness. I just wanted to let you all know that I have falling in love with this beautiful community and I'm blessed every day to listen to your prayer requests and join my heart with all of you. Joe, the Servant of the Most High God from Georgia, Biola from Maryland, and so many others from around the world, thank you for your calls and your prayers. They are uplifting, convicting and a tremendous blessing. Thank you. Blind Tony, I praise God for the way that he has gifted you to speak truth and I'm praying for you and your grandson, Denzel. Heather whose husband ran away, my heart and my prayers go out to you. Linda from Alberta, I'm lifting up your daughter in prayer and in faith to be healed, redeemed and set free by the mighty blood of Jesus. I also need to squeeze in a quick prayer request. My brother-in-law separated from his wife several months ago. He is just in a dark place spiritually right now. I know that this is the root cause of all of the stuff that is going on in his life, so I want to pray that God would minister to him in love and that God would also continue to lift up his precious wife and faithful encourager. Hi family. This is Shannon from Seattle. Hello, it's been a long time since I’ve called and Forgiven, I am just rejoicing with you. What a beautiful praise report you called in with about your wife and your mother and your daughter's wedding. It just brought such a smile to my face, you at the nail shop. Thank you for calling in. You made my day. I'm struggling still. I haven’t been able to work because of my back. Praise God I have a disability policy, but it is running out and I'm trying to sell my house still. Two deals have kind of fallen through. Relationship issues, still working on that. I have a counseling appointment later today I feel frustrated about. I'm sorry I'm unloading on everybody. I just don’t know what else to do and I just kept getting the prompt to call, call, call, so here I am. Pray for me, please. I feel better just releasing this. I'm so grateful for this family, Brian and Jill and to everybody who calls in with their stories and their prayer requests and I watched through the Vimeo, John, last night and that really helped me and put a smile on my face to see some of the faces. It is so beautiful and so touching. Please know that I pray for all of you as you call in even though I don’t say you by name. I love you all. I appreciate all your prayer. Thank you. Hi Daily Audio Bible. James, the teacher in LA, __________. You know what? I just wanted to share with you really quick. School starts next week on Tuesday, but today I had a few students who are going to be in my AP Chemistry class come in for tutoring. I gave them a summer assignment that is very challenging, but a few of them volunteered to come in. They weren’t getting paid. I wasn’t getting paid. You know what? We had a really good time and I'm only sharing this because I saw something. When you are following God's call for your life, you might not get paid for it. I managed to skip lunch, but I didn’t really notice it because I really enjoy teaching. I enjoy teaching science. I enjoy teaching the Word of God whenever I have opportunity. That's my calling. That's what I'm built for. Every one of you, every one of us has calling. Not just one calling. I'm called to be a father. I'm called to be a husband. I'm called to be a teacher in public school of science and in the church of the Word. We all have multiple callings, but when we function in those callings, we are obedient, the joy __________ the Holy Spirit. Family, what brings you joy? What brings you joy when you know that you're not doing anything wrong, you're just enjoying what God has given you? What brings you joy? Follow that. If you can make money off it, great, but follow it. No matter what, you will have joy all the days of your life. I love you, family. Praise God. Amen.
Hey Daily Audio Bible family. My husband and I, this is Darla. Anyway, my husband and I just watched the video on Vimeo of the Global Bible Read for John 1 and it is so amazing. If you guys haven’t had a chance to watch it, it is so encouraging and just really great. So thank you all who were able to call in and do a video. It is just so cool. Anyway, that is all I really have to say. God bless all of you and we keep you all in prayer. God bless each and every one of you. Bye.
I walk in circles around the yard. I do this every day. Sometimes I simply walk and think. Sometimes I walk and pray. And when I walk, I'm not alone. I'm walking with the Lord. His Holy Spirit fills me up. His peace is my reward. He said he’d keep in perfect peace the mind that is staid on him and perfect peace is what I need when things start looking grim. There is evil present all around. I feel like I'm boxed in. I know I have to walk away to not be part of sin. Help me, Lord, to boldly walk and know I'm not alone. The peace your Holy Spirit gives surpasses all I’ve known. Fill me, Lord. Anoint me, Lord. I long to hear your voice gently speaking to my heart for making you my choice. I'm not ashamed to lift you up. My life is an open book. When asked if I believe the Word, you only have to look. I try to practice what I preach, to hold my lamp up high so someone else can see God's love by me just passing by. But darkness doesn’t like the light or the clarity light brings. But those of us who love the light will walk like we have wings. Because truth is light and light is love and truth will set you free. Jesus is the light of God in all the world for me. He said we would sometimes have to flee. We all have private hells. Do not stay and tempt your faith by trying to test yourselves. I’ve been there, done that, always lost. The power of sin is too strong. I know when I rely on Him, I win and don’t go wrong. And so I walk in circles. I do this every day. As I walk, Lord, please walk with me and help me not to stray.
