Introduction

Today is the 9th of September. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian and it is my pleasure and an honor, as always, to be here with you today. We’ve wandered our way into the book of Isaiah and that’s where we’ll continue. It’s a good-ish journey because it’s one of the longer books in the Bible; and we really do hear (a lot) of the heart of God, like some of his frustrations, but also his unbelievable mercy. And there’s so much to apply to our own lives. Rather than just looking globally at what’s going on or in our own nations, what’s going on, if we look internally at ourselves and the conditions of our own heart, there’s just a lot here. So from the Good News Translation, we continue Isaiah 3:1 – 5:30 today.

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for another day to live, to breathe, to be with you and you with us, to walk intimately through life together, to invite your Holy Spirit to guide and direct us. We invite your Holy Spirit to help us to pause and reflect over all the decisions and choices that we’re making, over all of the words that we’re speaking, over everything that we are creating as we’re work in collaboration with you in life. We need you. We are lost without you. There is no hope without you. But there is a great hope, eternal hope with you and you do want to be with us. You came to rescue us. So come Holy Spirit, we want to be fully awake, fully alert, and deeply with you today. Come, we ask, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Announcements

Www.DailyAudioBible.com is home, it’s the website. It’s where you find out what’s going on around here and we have plenty of things going on around here. Looking into the calendar for September, I will be out on the road once this month, a little later, just a few days before Reframe comes out, on the 27th. And that’s a Sunday. I’ll be in Fort Smith, AR. For those of you who are in the area and want to come, I’d love to have the opportunity to meet you. Love that very much. I’ll be at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith and you can get more details at their website, www.1pres.org. And we’ll look forward to that.

Man, we’ve been talking about Reframe, and we’ve been talking about Promised Land since it came out just a week ago. I just want to think of things that I haven’t said about these things that we’ve worked so hard on, resources that we gave our all to, like as a sacrifice to God. Like this is our very best effort to use media to engage as many people in the stories of the Bible, in the places of the Bible, and into unpacking relationship with God. What can we create that can matter? Because we’re in a world full of noise and a world full of ‘cool’ stuff. Maybe even just talking Reframe, talking Promised Land, talking what we do as a mission here, maybe that becomes noise or stuff, and I hope not because that’s my prayer that it’s not. Because that’s not the spirit in which any of this was made, to be more stuff. We have enough stuff.

And so like with Promised Land, it was a 4-year odyssey to give it our best. With Reframe, it’s like (for me anyway) a peeling back of every layer of my soul to try to find something I knew was there, but I couldn’t name it. And I realized that every talking about their relationship with God is like an esoteric exercises. Like, what does that mean? And I wanted to know what that meant. So that’s Reframe. And so, we worked really hard on these things and that’s why I keep talking about it, at least for now. I want you to experience this, and so we thought about every possible way. How do we give away? How do we do this? We’ve done our best. So for the rest of this month, as I’ve been saying, if you go grab a copy of Reframe at Amazon or Barnes & Noble, if you go to www.Reframebook.com and grab a copy, it’ll set you back $11, but we’ll give you more than that back in return. My first book, Passages, is something that we’re able to give away this month and you’ll get it, full audio edition, the whole thing immediately, when you order Reframe. And we’ll also give you back $10 if you want to get Promised Land. So it’s the best we can do to give you the books that I’ve been in involved and it’s a treasure chest, truly a treasure chest.

Promised Land is a master class in biblical history and geography. It’s stunning! And you get Promised Land, we’ll send it to you. It’s a 2-DVD package, it’s gorgeous, we’ll send it to you, but you’ll immediately get the high definition download to Promised Land. And I guess (I don’t think I’ve said this for a few days) even in thinking ‘how can we better offer this for use so it has more of an impact, so that it’s a resource that’s available?’ and so we broke the high definition files into each individual location and they’re very easy to refer to and very easy to use in your Sunday school, small group class, or in your church to bring a place to life, a place (talking about in some sort of context) to life. And that’s what Promised Land does, it brings the land of the Bible to life. So you can check all that stuff out at www.Reframebook.com. And thank you for your help on that.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that www.DailyAudioBible.com. And that always comes with humble, like really, deeply humble gratitude. This community has risen up…I haven’t said this in a long time, but I used to say this all the time – it kind of appeared out of the dust of the internet, because that’s what happened. It’s just happened. And we’ve become this vibrant community who comes together and centers ourselves on the rhythm of the scripture every day, and if you’ve been here for very long, you know that somehow it makes a big difference in life. So thank you for your partnership in allowing that to happen. There’s a link on the home page of www.DailyAudioBible.com. The mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

And, as always, if you have a prayer request or comment, (877) 942 – 4253 is the number to call.

And that’s all for today, I’m Brian. I love you. I do. I’ll be waiting for you here, tomorrow.

Community Prayer Request and Praise Reports

Hello Daily Audio Bible family. This is Sinner, Matthew 6:6. Lord, these words you’ve given to me, I give back to you. Let’s pray. Responding to Karalee from Connecticut. Father God, we lift up Karalee and her husband. We pray for healing for Karalee that you would restore her body to full health with the divine power of the Holy Spirit; that you would remove MS from her body completely. We pray also for Karalee’s husband, that you would reach out to him and move his heart to turn it toward you. We pray for his soul that he would turn toward his Savior, Jesus, and be redeemed. Lord God, we pray for Sam from Vancouver, WA. We pray that the Holy Spirit will fill Sam with the grace and wisdom to speak to his sister and brother-in-law about the one who can save them, the Redeemer of their souls, Jesus Christ. We pray that you would speak through Sam, that you would use him to bring these two back into your fold for all eternity. Give him peace and courage for this task. Lord of creation, we lift up Wayne of Maine, who’s going back to Africa for 6 weeks. We pray that you will grant Wayne safe travel and a successful trip, that he might bring the love of Christ to all those he encounters. We pray also that we stop and thank you, Provider and Nourisher, for all that you have done and continue to do in our lives. Lord of Heaven, healer and restorer, we lift up Debbie of Anderson Island of Washington. We pray for you to fill Debbie with love, that you would heal her broken heart and give her hope again. Strengthen her faith that you would provide in the perfect time and that you will pull her through these times of sadness and struggle after the loss of her husband. We pray that you provide shelter for Debbie, for a place to live, and a place where her heart can land to heal. We ask all these things, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Hi, my name is Melinda of Virginia. I’ve been listening for the past 4 or 5 years. I’m calling today because I was walking around LA and I saw what looked to be like __________ and I just didn’t know what to do with my heart heavy about the situation. I have just been led to pray, pray, pray for this young girl, about 9 or 10. And I just want to reach out to the community and family I have at the Daily Audio Bible and ask that you guys stand in agreement in praying, praying for these young girls and boys that are being used and abused __________. Pray for their protection and that somehow, some way God makes a way for them to get out. And my heart is just heavy and I don’t know what else to do. I looked for some fireman who happened to be on the same street. It just felt suspicious to me. I felt heavy in my heart about it. I just pray and hope that the particular young girl has been saved and somehow, some way God has gotten her out and she’s not being used. I pray this in Jesus’s name. And I just want to thank the Daily Audio Bible for being there for me and for everyone else that are part of this community. Thank you, bye.

Hi Daily Audio Bible family, its Kimberly calling from Northeastern Nevada. Hey, I’m hoping you guys can just pray for us. I’m feeling like such a ‘Debby Downer’ and I’m just known as being the ‘encourager’ and the ‘bucket filler,’ you know that girl that’s just smiling all the time. But life is just getting really hard and Warren was placed on administrative leave again with his job. His supervisor is just really targeting him even though everybody else around him is saying he’s just doing a fantastic job. He has such a great track record as an aircraft mechanic and this guy just seems to want to (I don’t know) destroy him, for a lack of a better word. So it’s hard for me and I know that’s it’s all going to work out. I know that God has a bigger plan, but I don’t understand why some people can be just so mean. I just don’t get it. Why do they have to continue to treat people like that and nothing ever seems to touch them? It doesn’t seem fair and I know its life and maybe I’m just being a whiner. But just pray for him. He’s just really struggling and he feels this weight of having to support his family and having three kids in school, and being retired military and having to just make that transition has been very difficult for him. So please pray for us. And also family, you know I am a teacher and I’ve always had a heart for hurting children and I’ve always been so passionate about my calling and I just don’t know if all this stuff happening and all these circumstances that I’m allowing it to get to me. But I haven’t been myself and I’m losing my passion. And we made it through our first week of school and I just have the best class but I could just feel myself being irritated with them and it’s just not me.

Morning Audio Family, this is Marcus from Washington. I’m just calling to say a few words of encouragement to those out there that are struggling in their marriages, their marriages are falling apart. Christ is our hope whether our marriage is restored or not. We need to maintain our faith in Christ, our all is in him, not our marriage. And God will restore what he wants restored. His will will be done if we call him, and he may make a different plan for us, as he’s doing with my life. I’m thinking specifically right now of Bradley, whose wife moved out with his step-son, I’m just praying for you brother. I heard your pain. I pray for you every day. I want you to know that God does love you and he has a plan for you, just hold faith in that promise. Audio family, I love you. I’m so grateful that I have found you. And I do pray many of you throughout the day, as you come to my mind. And I would just ask you that you would continue to pray for my family as we struggle through our divorce. And my boys have issues with this obviously and they need help. They need prayer, anger issues, running away issues, those sorts of things. Pray for hem, build a hedge around, protect them from the devastation. Brian, thank you for your ministry and that’s it. Thanks, bye.

Hi, my name is Mary E. I’m calling for prayer. I asked my husband to leave; he was still doing his drugs. And I have two children that are here. And I’m asking that the Lord just touch him and heal him and change him to being the man the Lord wants to see in him. Also that we somehow be able to make it because I home-school my children, I’m a stay-at-home mother, and my husband is the only one who is providing for this family. So keep us in your prayers and I know that God is orchestrating everything beautifully. I trust him and following him and just clinging to him at this very moment. So thank you all. God bless you and may the Lord be with each and every one of you.

Hi friends, this is Antalya Sophia calling from Washington. Today I just felt led to call in for Chris from Colorado. I heard your prayer and I just rejoice with you that you are forgiven and that the Lord hears our prayers and he is faithful and just to forgive all our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So, I know this isnt the most, I don’t know, butterflies and roses encouragement, but I just want to encourage you. Now that you’ve asked for forgiveness and you’ve repented, to just partner in making them come to fruition in your life. Oftentimes when we pray and I myself, I struggle with having eating, not disorder, but I guess disordered eating and getting too locked up in things. Often I pray for God to take this sin of gluttony away and then I binge. So, I think that we have a huge part with partnering with God and when we ask for forgiveness and we repent of things, we have to turn the other way. We do have a part in that. And just so I really encourage you to get in a support group, to maybe find someone to disciple you and also if you know your temptations, to make steps and to make choices that will keep you from those and keep you walking in the right direction. So I just encourage you to walk in the path, the path of righteousness that the Lord has placed before you and just to know you’re worthy of walking that path. Walk worthy of your calling and God will come alongside you and he will give you strength. So I’ll be praying for you in that. And I say this in love. And I love you and I love you all. And I will be praying for you and everyone.

Hello Daily Audio Bible! This is Scott in Alaska, calling from the great land on a gray day. But like I always say, it doesn’t matter that it’s cloudy, we know behind the clouds is a lot of beauty. I bet it is that way in your life too. A few prayer requests. Praying for Kenny in Ohio. Kenny whose friend Neil has a hole in his esophagus and an infection spreading throughout his body. Just praying that God brings healing to Kenny. Mandela from Cumberland, praying for favor for you in your job search and that you find a job that is fulfilling and meaningful for you and able to help you support your family. Derek from Michigan, praying that it’s God’s will that you end up on the first ship and you’re able to serve God and your company there. Andre, whose uncle just died, Andre, I’m praying for you for peace from Jesus that God’s Holy Spirit come and comfort you and your family and everyone involved. Terribly sad, sad news. Jesus is sufficient in the sadness. And Cindy in Washington, praying for thankful Cindy. Continuing to pray that your husband have eyes to see that alcohol is a problem or actually consumption of alcohol is a problem and that he turns to the Lord for deliverance from that. I know it’s possible to be delivered from alcohol. Praying for you to have the wisdom and strength to go through this incredibly difficult situation. Well, Daily Audio Bible friends and family, I thank you for all of your prayers. That’s all for now from Alaska and go on ahead and have a good day unless you have something else planned.
