When somebody there is weak, I feel weak. When somebody is led into sin, I'm devastated. So if I have to boast, then let me just tell you how weak I am. God knows I'm not lying.” And what Paul does through all this is expose his own heart. I think if we’ll pay attention, then that brings a credibility that no resume ever could.
So may our lives be our credibility in bringing the gospel, the good news to everyone because that is what we’ve got – the hope of all humanity. We carry this. It is good news. That is why it was called that. That's why it is called that. That is why Jesus didn’t go “Here's your evangelism strategy.” It's just good news. You are rescued. There is hope. What you’re going through right now is temporary. There is hope. There will always be hope. We carry this. May our lives be our own credentials. May our lives be the credibility to the fact of this hope and may we honor it with our lives.
Prayer:
Father, we certainly haven’t gone through all of that. We’ve gone through plenty and in a lot of ways it has made us self-conscious and even self-absorbed and even self-pitying. It is very easy for us to go there. That is the easiest place to go to because then we can have a conversation inside of our own head about what is just and unjust and what is not fair and then we can blame the people who have persecuted us in some way and then we can blame you because it’s not fair. It just twists us into this very self-absorbed ball of anxiety and it just doesn’t get us anywhere. And so now as we just watch the apostle Paul kind of lay his heart out there in the way that he has just done, we identify, we see. So we declare the same thing. If we’ve got to boast, then let that show how weak we are, how lucky we are to be here at all. Thank you for your rescue of our hearts. Holy Spirit, come and make our lives resemble and reflect your glory, that we are being changed, that we are being transformed. Let that transformation be the only credentials we need in showing what the good news looks like in a person's life. Come, we pray in Jesus’ name, amen.

Kind of mostly what is going on around here is Promised Land and Reframe, what we’ve been talking about. Even as I'm talking about Paul, it's like he got arrested in Jerusalem and there was this big assassination plot and he was spirited out of Jerusalem (we’ve read this in the book of Acts) and over to Caesarea where he was put in prison. He was able to share the good news with people he would never be able to interact with, but he was still a prisoner. This legion of soldiers that took him away, that was a long way, to Caesarea. They stopped over at Antipatris. I'm thinking “we were there.” The Roman road that the soldiers would have brought him under guard to for their overnight stay, it is the same road. It is there. There are like chariot grooves in it. We filmed that. It is in Promised Land. And in Caesarea where he spent all his time in prison before he appealed his case to Caesar in Rome, it's there. We filmed it.
So when I talk about Promised Land, I'm like “man, this is a master class in biblical history and geography.” That is just true. These stories aren’t just made-up stories. They actually happened in places and these places, some of them are absolutely staggering in their beauty. Some of them are just simply staggering in their history. It is amazing to immerse yourself into the story that we are in, the story of God with us which is exactly what the prophet Isaiah spoke of today in his famous, famous prophesy – Immanuel is coming. That says the whole thing. That is everything wrapped up in a ball. That is Reframe wrapped up in a ball, but that is our lives wrapped up in a ball - God with us. Not like the Christmas kind of “Immanuel is coming, God with us” in the beautiful Christmas carol, but God with you. That is the story of our lives and when we begin to look at that story, we realize how much we’ve not been willing to live into that story and how it has kind of been us and God at arm's length while we try to figure out how to incorporate him into our world and mission when it has only ever been the other way around because that is the only way life will ever work - God with us. Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports:
(Singing) When I think about the goodness of Jesus and all that he has done for me, my soul cries out ‘hallelujah’ because I thank God, thank God, because I thank God. This is Blessed Like Me coming to you with some praise reports that you will believe. Now the world would say I’ve got something that you won’t believe, but I’ve got something that you will believe. A few weeks ago I called in about a friend, a dear friend of mine, Scott and Belinda. Scott and Belinda, for those of you who hadn’t heard, Scott is in a coma, been in a coma for over a year. Doctors had given up on him. I was actually in the hospital room when the doctor, his primary caregiver came in and said ‘y’all might as well give up. Pull the plug or whatever. He's not going to make it.’ Well anyway, he made it and he's been in primary care of Belinda, sole care of Belinda at home, but he went to a neurologist this weekend and the neurologist looked at him and checked him, asked Scott to squeeze his hand. Scott squeezed his hand. He asked him to wiggle his toes and Scott wiggled his toes. We thank you for your prayers. And my church, I asked for prayers for my church and you guys prayed and my prayer for my church was that we would have harmony and everything. You wouldn’t believe. The __________ fired the choir. I mean they didn’t fire the choir, but they got rid of the choir for a more worship atmosphere. Pray for me also because I feel like there is a spirit of something coming against me, I guess, for whatever reason, but I am not concerned with that. God is all powerful. But thank you for your prayers. I love you and I thank you for everything. In Jesus’ name, we thank you, Jesus. Amen!
Hi family. Biola from Maryland here. I hope you're all doing well. Brian and Jill, God bless you. Thanking God for his healing upon your life, Jill. I pray that God will continue to strengthen you and heal you completely, in the name of Jesus. Brian, thanking God for your new project. I pray that God will cause funds to come into your ministry, in the name of Jesus, and that people will support you by ordering Reframe and the new DVD for Promised Land. Okay, Scott, brother, thanking God for that new job that you have, the nursing job. I pray that God would help you to be salt and light even in that environment and in the lives of everyone that he brings your way. Sister with multiple sclerosis, I heard your prayer request. I pray that God would continue to touch your body. I know you said you’ve been struggling with this for quite a while now. Father, Lord, I pray that you would give your daughter an overhaul, in the name of Jesus. Lord, I pray that you would heal her, that you would strengthen her husband who is her caregiver. I pray, O God, that he will not be weary, in the name of Jesus. I pray that you would uphold your son's hands, in the name of Jesus. And Father, Lord of Heaven, I just want to bless you even for this family, in the name of Jesus. Delta Alpha, I’ve been meaning to call in, but I did pray for Maddie. I'm thanking God that he has touched Maddie's body and Maddie is healed from that pneumonia, in the name of Jesus. Thank God for that. Jay, brother, I have been calling in. Where have you been? Good morning, Daily Audio Bible friends. This is Paula calling, the child advocate from Los Angeles. Today is September the 7th. It is Labor Day weekend for us in the United States. It is a holiday for us. I'm calling today, friends, with some urgent prayer requests. My niece, 25 years old, her name is Lauren had to be taken to the emergency hospital yesterday. She had a severe headache and she went to take a shower to relieve it and she fainted. They called 911 and they took her to the hospital and she has a brain bleed. They took her immediately into surgery. Her family is in Los Angeles and her twin sister and her mother got on a plane immediately and are headed to Pittsburgh right now, so I just please ask all the prayer warriors and all of you DAB friends to pray for Lauren. Very, very concerned about her. She is just a lovely girl who is just starting out in a nice career in Pittsburgh and just very healthy and I don’t know what has caused this, so please pray for her, family. And I just want to tell you that I listen every day and I listen to all your prayer requests and I do pray for you and I thank you. This family is very important to me. Hello, this is Patricia R. from Ireland, the Emerald Isle. It has been a long time since I rang, but I felt I needed to ring to say thanks to those who prayed. A while back I asked for prayer for my son who had a late diagnosis of Asperger's on the autistic spectrum. He is very gifted musically and has a degree. For the last couple years he had not been doing much with that, but a door has opened up for him to return to college to study more music composition for media and to go back to college for a year. So I just wanted to say thanks to my brothers and sisters across the world who did pray when I rang in to ask for prayer and to say thanks for bringing that before the Lord and for seeking God on his behalf. I just wanted to come back and say thanks. I'm still listening in. I have missed some of it from time to time, but I'm trying to get back on track. I just ordered my copy of Reframe. It is due to be delivered in October so I'm looking forward to reading that and stay in touch with my brothers and sisters across the world. So thanks again for your prayer and praise God for just how he has been so faithful in what he has done for my son. I would encourage anybody to just keep seeking God with all of your hearts and he will answer in his due time. Okay, bye.
Hi, this is DA from Dallas, only using initials this time. This is sensitive but also very important, especially for the younger adults. We just got through the Song of Solomon. So beautiful. That is exactly my point. Beautiful as it is God created. Now here is the sensitive part. Myself included, how many of us young men have struggled with pornography? Let's be men and face it, guys. I'm not judging, just being honest. Porn is not God created. It is man created and Satan has perverted the beautiful intimacy that God has created. Guys, let's go back to what is truly beautiful. That is making love to our wives the way God intended. Let's be honest. How many of us think that it is natural to do the practices we observe through porn? I'm trying to be discreet, so please, guys, read between the lines because you guys know what I'm talking about. Guys, let's stop that. It's not beautiful. God made sexual intimacy and there is a beautiful way to do it and, of course, only within marriage. Let's use all God created body parts for the purpose that they were created, because when we change them around the way the world does it, it just goes against God's purpose. It may be exciting, but is it really beautiful? Well, you know the answer. May the Lord deliver us from evil and in Jesus we will find life and deliverance. Praying for all of us, guys. We really struggle in this area and we need God and only Jesus can deliver us. Thank you, guys. Take care.
Hi, it's Linda from San Antonio. I wanted to share with my DAB family that I’ve been discouraged because some of my responses to prayer needs weren’t being aired. It's not about me. It's just frustrating wanting to help someone so badly when you can’t get through to them. I know you know what I mean and if you’ve gone through that same thing, I just didn’t want you to be discouraged like I was. I want to give you some really exciting news. I don’t know, maybe I'm the only one who doesn’t know this, but every Saturday you can listen to the Community Prayer. From what I can tell, I don’t know, but I think that is where all the prayers are that didn’t get aired on the daily podcast and if you're not listening to that, you may be missing out on a prayer that was just for you. So I was really excited to find this out this weekend. Christy from Ohio, I have a prayer for you in last Saturday's Community Prayer. Please know that I'm praying for you. Hey Dabbers, this is Slave of Jesus. Alright, Holy Spirit, let's roll. If I'm lucky, this will get played somewhere around the September 11th weekend. So the reason that I'm using that “let's roll” is this thing is a battle. This is a battle we’re going on and the person that knew about being in a battle was Todd Beamer. A lot of you guys probably have heard the story. I think Flight 93 was the last plane flying through the air. Three other planes had crashed into buildings on 911 and this is all from a book by his wife called “Let's Roll” by Lisa Beamer. So you can look this all up. But he was on that flight and while a lot of other people were calling, he was like on a call with like an air phone person. So he was getting the story. They didn’t know that these planes had crashed into other buildings at first on the plane, and so when they were getting informed, they thought it was just a hijacking. They were getting informed and they were deciding after they learned that these other planes were crashing that they were going to do something about it. They were going to rush the cockpit. Todd Beamer was one of those individuals. So when he was getting ready to do it, one of the first things when the plane started jerking around, he thought it was going to crash, he cried out loud, into this announcer, “Oh, Jesus, help us.” And then as they discussed it later on, the plant flattened out and he said “I'm going to have to go out in faith” (that is one of the comments he made to the person). And then after that, before they got ready, they completed the Lord's Prayer. This is in the book. They all said the Lord's Prayer and this operator could hear other people saying it along with Todd Beamer. At the end of the Lord's Prayer he said “Jesus, help me.” And then after that, he went and did Psalms 23: Yea, I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil. And they could hear other men joining him on this. After that is when he said “Let's roll.” So men who are out there that have struggles, if a salesman from Oracle, Todd Beamer, is willing to go out there and fight the good fight, the least we can do is get ourselves scripture and fight against our addictions, things that are destroying our family.
