Isaiah 12:1-14:32 ~ 2 Corinthians 13:1-14 ~ Psalm 57:1-11 ~ Proverbs 23:9-11
Welcome to a new week. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It’s great to be here with you today. Obviously, it’s September 13th and like every new week – it's this shiny brand new thing that we have to unpack and unfold and make of it what we will as we walk with God and allow him to guide our steps. And of course one of the ways that we do that is by this daily rhythm that we have here as a community in his Word. So brand new week, we’ll read from a new translation this week – the English Standard Version – and pick up where we left off yesterday, which is working our way through the book of Isaiah from the Old Testament.

Prayer

Father, as we enter into this new week, we consecrate our hearts before you. We are eager. We are hungry and we are looking forward to all that you will lay out before us, every step of our lives, in every area of our lives. Not what you will speak to us through your Word, but you will speak to us by the power of your Holy Spirit in every thought, word and deed. In everything that we do this week, we invite you. We need you. We want you intimately here with us. Come, Jesus. And even as the Apostle Paul is concluding his letter to the Corinthians, we ask for the same things – that you help us aim for restoration; that we will comfort one another; that we would agree with one another; that we will live in peace; that you, our God, our Lord, our Father, our Friend, that you, the God of love and peace, will be with us and that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and your love, Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit will be with us all. We ask this knowing that we’re asking a lot, but we’re not asking too much, for this is what you want and this is what you offer to us and it is we who have shunned this in the past in different areas of our lives. But we open ourselves fully to all of it. Come, Jesus, we pray, in your name, Amen.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Hi, this is Anna from Maryland. I’m calling to pray for __________ for prayer and asking to pray with me. I want to just thank Brian and congratulate him on his grandchild, him and his wife. I enjoyed you all on the reading of the Bible the other day. I wanted to pray for the young woman whose husband, she wanted to leave because he was on drugs. And I want to pray for the one whose daughter had a problem with her leg. I want to pray for those who are looking for employment. My husband is still looking for employment also. So I have a prayer. Gracious Father, in the name of Jesus, Lord, in the name of Jesus, I ask you to touch everyone that I just mentioned in prayer and those who need it, Lord, those who are seeking you, Lord, for an answer. Those who need you, Lord, they need you, your present help in a time of trouble. Oh Lord, show them your miracles, show them your wonders, Lord. Let them see that you are still in the blessing business, that you’re still in the forgiving and the delivering business, that you are still God and above you, there is no other. Oh Lord, you have your miracle, Lord. Oh Lord, you touch, you deliver, you set free, Lord. You bless, Lord, in the name of Jesus. You open doors for jobs that no man can close. You provide houses, Lord. You said in your Word that you’ll provide houses that we didn’t even build. Oh Lord, you open doors, Father, that no man can close. Bless your people, Lord. Bring us together and keep us together, Lord. Oh Lord, continue to bless us so that we can lift up your name and let the world know that you’re still in the blessing business. And we will be ever so careful to give your name the glory and the honor and the praise, Lord. We give you the glory and we thank you, in Jesus’ name.

Hi everyone, this is Lisa calling from Tennessee. This evening I am calling specifically to speak to Rumbii. Rumbii, I have been a listener of the DAB since just earlier this year in January. And I wanted to tell you that over the course of the months that I’ve been listening and I’ve heard you from the first early months when I started until hearing your call today, I have heard a change just in your voice. Rumbii, when I first heard you, I remember hearing what sounded like despair and distress in your voice. So many things were happening and you were struggling with some new things and although I know that you’re still struggling and specifically with issues with your family, you mom and brother, I can hear a change in you. If it’s the Holy Spirit working, if it’s the joy that you have from the Holy Spirit, just a combination of things, I’m sure, but I wanted you to know that even in your time of difficulty and challenges that you face, that I can hear a change in you and that blesses me to know that. It’s hard when you have those around you who can become challenging to the point where they affect your spirit, but you just always have to remember that the Lord is working on you and sometimes he’s working on them through you. A lady called once and I wrote down what she said. And it was that ‘the devil does not want to rob someone who has an empty purse. He chooses us because we have so much to offer and we know so much about the truth and who God is.’ And that may be where you are Rumbii, where you are feeling like the devil is attacking you, but it’s because you just have so much to share and so much love to give. And I just wanted to send a shout out to you, Rumbii, and that I’m praying for you and for your family. Have a blessed evening, bye.

Hello and good morning Daily Audio Bible family. This is Jay from New Jersey. Biola from Maryland, I guess I had listened to a couple of days in a row and I hadn’t heard from you. I’m used to hearing you every day, God bless you. ‘Blessed Like Me,’ brother thank you for that praise report about your friend who is getting better from the coma. I just wanted to let everyone know that there is someone out there who is dealing with an issue that they don’t want to call in with because they’re embarrassed. They don’t want to call in with because the enemy is using it as a tool to control them and keep them quiet from the community of Daily Audio Bible. And I’m here to tell you that whoever you are and that whatever it is that you have done or are doing, that’s making you feel guilty to the point where you feel like you can’t call in and ask for prayer for that particular issue and that we’ll judge, that’s not going to happen. The Bible says we’ve all fallen short of the glory of God, which means that when God looks down on us, he looks down on all of our sins the same way. No one’s sin is greater than another. No one’s sin is more visible than another’s, according to God. So I’m going to pray for you. Heavenly Father, we pray now that you will continue to encourage and continue to uplift and continue to be of a presence and a lamp to this person or these people wherever they are, whoever they are. And I pray, Father, that you will touch their heart and you’ll give them the strength that your Word declares we have in you. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen.

Hey DAB family, it is Dr. John from Jordan, NY. I am a little remiss in getting back faster for a praise report. Phoebe did great on her MCATs. She scored, she was just hoping to get at the 80th percentile. She scored at the 91st percentile and immediately received lots of requests for what’s called the ‘secondary applications,’ which the medical schools say ‘hey we would really like you to apply.’ So that was really encouraging to her and most of all, it just relieved a tremendous amount of stress that she would have to take them over again, which really weighed heavily on her heart. So I want to thank you so much for your prayers. On other note, Saint Matthew 6:6, sorry, can’t think of you as ‘Sinner’ with your prayers like that. It’s just amazing. So happy to hear you. When I heard you calling, I was just, just praising God. So, wonderful to hear you back praying again and hopefully that God is providing you relief with your issues. James R., how cool is that? The power of prayer? Unbelievable! That is so awesome. You got to experience God’s power through your prayer. Fantastic! Very happy. By the way, I was a chemistry major and my favorite teacher in high school was my chemistry teacher. And we’re still in touch through Facebook, which is kind of cool. My mother-in-law was a chemistry teacher in high school and I was actually high school teacher of the year in New York State. And again, just love the sciences. So keep it up, get kids excited. Love you guys. Bye-bye.

Good morning DAB, this is Walta calling from Charlotte. I am the burning bush that will not be consumed for the glory of our Lord God. ‘Blessed Like Me’ thank you so much for the song and thank you for the praise report. It is so amazing how God answers prayer and he is just there waiting for us to call out to him. ‘Slave of Jesus,’ I heard your story you shared today, Thursday, the 10th and it really inspired me. Family, I want you guys to please join me and just let us pray for us to be more aware of the Holy Spirit and his desire for our lives, that as I go through my day and as we go through our days, that we don’t just go through the motions, but we are sensitive to his Spirit. I personally feel like the cares of this world distracted me from my purpose and my desires. And I heard another woman call about something like this. She’s a teacher and she was talking about her passion going away. I think it’s just the cares of the world. And so, we come against this in the name of Jesus. And Holy Father, we just commit ourselves to you, Father. We want to serve you. We want to love you. We want our lives to be centered around you. Give us strength, oh God, the strength of the Lord and direct us, direct our paths. Holy Father, I pray that you send out many reminders today to remind us of your love and remind us of what our love should be for, the lost, and what our love should be those who need you, God. Help us to be used by you today, in Jesus’ name. Amen. I love you all. Thank you, Brian and Jill. We love you guys. Bye.

Hey, this is Steven from Alabama. Just wanted to tell everyone that if you’ve got a desire like I do to share Daily Audio Bible with friends and others who you know could use this life-giving time every day, September 10th, which is the day I’m calling in on, is such a good day to share with people. Brian’s introduction today where he kinds of sets the tone of what this is about, reminds us what this is about. Through the reading we got to experience Heaven in Isaiah. We got to hear about the prophecy of Immanuel. Then we go to Paul and the struggles that he goes through and we can relate that nothing we go through probably will be as difficult as that. And then we move into the commentary and the prayer, and then the additional commentary after the prayer that Brian shares with us, and then even sharing part of his life with Ezekiel. It’s just a great day. And then the first gentleman that calls in singing. What a wonderful day to share with others. And so I encourage you all to do that as well. That’s what I did. So get a link and share it with your friends. Thank you so much, Brian. God bless. God bless everybody in the community.

His, this Tawanna from Los Angeles. First of all, I wanted to say thank you to Brian again. I appreciate you, your commentaries, and your reading has been so on point again. I think I said that a couple of years ago, or maybe last year. But thank you, thank you, thank you. And it’s so good to hear from everyone else, the old Dabbers. Of course, I’ve been with DAB since 2008, and it’s just good to hear everyone’s voice and I haven’t called in a long time. And I just want to shout out to Blind Tony, hello, I’m still here. I’m still here, still serving the Lord. So, I just wanted to say, Brian, thank you for taking your time out, and most of all, family, that although I don’t call in, I am praying and being in agreement with all of your prayers. So be blessed and you all have a great day, bye.
