Daniel 5:1-31 ~ 2 Peter 2:1-22 ~ Psalm 119:113-128 ~ Proverbs 28:19-20

Today is the 28th of November. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It is my pleasure to be here at the end of another week together with you taking all of the steps forward through the year in the scriptures. And we have plenty of steps left in this year although we have fewer before us than we have behind us and yet so much richness left in the scriptures for this year. So we’re at the end of the week. We’ve been reading from the English Standard Version this week, which is what we’ll do today.

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for another week in your Word and we are turning the corner and finishing out another month here in a matter of days and we’ll move into the final months of our year. We invite your Holy Spirit into every moment that remains of this year. This is the busy time of the year and we need you. We need peace. We need order. We need your counsel and comfort. We need to walk with you and that is a choice we make moment by moment. So we invite you. Come, Holy Spirit. We thank you for all of these weeks stretching out behind us, all that you have taught us, all that we have lived through and we look forward with great anticipation to what is before us. Come, Jesus, we pray in your mighty name, amen.

Announcements

Www.DailyAudioBible.com is home base. It is the website. It is where you find out what is going on around here. Like I’ve been saying for a couple days, what is going on around here right now is the Daily Audio Bible Christmas Box is available chockfull of awesome resources, chockfull, packed literally as full as we can get it and that is amazing.

The Daily Audio Bible Christmas cards are available $5 for 25 cards with envelopes. Can’t beat it. It's a wonderful, wonderful way to invite those that you love to take the journey with you next year, so check that out all at www.DailyAudioBible.com in the Daily Audio Bible Shop.

It being the Christmas season, we have something that we do, a tradition in the Daily Audio Bible. We have our own little annual Christmas party and even though we’re all over the world and we maybe can’t all get into a room together (I'm not sure exactly that would be possible anyway unless we did it in a stadium or something, which would be fun), we have this little tradition where we go through the nativity story and intersperse that with all kinds of calls from all over the world, holiday wishes from all over the place. So it's time for that. All you have to do is use the prayer line, (877) 942-4253, but there is one rule. It is the prayer line, so if you have a prayer request, call that in as a prayer request and don’t attach a holiday greeting in it. Call your holiday greeting separately so that we can kind of compile this all together as we get closer to Christmas. It is a beautiful thing. If you’ve been through the Daily Audio Bible before in the past, then you’ve been through the Daily Audio Bible Family Christmas before. It is a wonderful reminder of who’ve been together all year. So be sure to call in your Christmas greetings.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible in this season, thank you profoundly, humbly. Thank you. We exist as a community because we do this together. So thank you for your partnership. There is a link. It is in the upper right-hand corner of www.DailyAudioBible.com. Or, if you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

And, as always, if you have a prayer request or comment, (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.

That's it for today. I'm Brian. I love you. I’ll be waiting for you here, tomorrow.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

I cast all my cares upon you. I lay all of my burdens down at your feet and every time that I don’t know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon you. Hi, this is Maria from Florida. I just want to dedicate that song to all who are undergoing trials right now and you don’t know what to do. I’ve been there and still undergoing some trials in my life, but there are times I can lay in pain but just cast all my cares upon the Lord. I just want to ask prayer for my daughter. She is undergoing chemo treatment right now. She had a miscarriage which turned out to be a molar pregnancy and she developed some cancer adhesions in her uterine wall, so she is undergoing chemo injection, but we are praying that it will be finished before Christmas, so please believe me for that. We know that we serve a God who is mighty and he is our greatest hero and greatest physician. Thank you so much Daily Audio Bible. I listen to every day and I’ve been praying for all of you too. Even though I don’t call much, I pray with you whenever I hear prayers that especially really burden my heart. Thank you so much, Brian and Jill and all your family for this amazing ministry. You are reaching a lot of people. I'm originally from the Philippines and I'm sure I have some family that I’ve been telling them about this program. God bless you and you have a great Thanksgiving and I love you all, family. Bye-bye.

Hello, this is Richard from Montreal Canada and today, Tuesday it is snowing. Yes, it is. Because of the snow, well, the job has been canceled. I'm unfortunately not going to work today. I say that because every day of work counts for me in making the budget and all that, so I would like you guys to pray for me for that. And also I'm not too proud of myself because I didn’t go to church Sunday. I have a hard time. I want to go to church. Everything is all set. I'm all ready and when it is time to get the door open and to go, I'm like “oh, I'm not looking forward to going to church.” I have a hard time with the solution. I don’t know. I want it. I need it but when it is time to do it, I get stuck. So I need some healing, I guess, in my heart about that. And also I would like you to pray also for Isabelle. Isabelle is my last girlfriend I had for 4 years. I talked about her. She has a handicapped child, Nora. They are always in my mind. I say to God I give them to you. It is her choice that she doesn’t want me in her life anymore. I still love her in my heart and it is very difficult. But I know I have to leave her in the hands of God because our relationship wasn't a sane one. We were doing drugs together and having too much of the hokey-pokey business there and when I talked about God and this and that, well, she wasn't really interested so it was difficult. Please pray for me and pray for Isabelle and her 2 girls there, that they may find the Lord on their own and that God can heal my broken heart and that I can go on and have fellowship with other people because I'm not going to meet any people if I don’t go to church. Anyway, I enjoy listening to you guys, listening to Brian when you read there.

Good day to you, my dear Audio Bible listeners, friends, sisters and brothers in Christ. This is Pamela from Huntington, the pastor's wife. I haven’t called in a long time. It's been kind of busy with life, but anyway, I’ve been listening on a daily basis to the scriptures and thank God for Pastor Hardin and his wife, just grateful for this wonderful opportunity, but I want to get quickly to my prayer request. I just want everyone to know that I'm praying with the whole “mess of us,” as my grandmother would say, that are praying for the different requests, but I have a prayer request for my brother-in-law. His name is Walby. Very, very, very sick. Please pray for him. He hit his head on the trunk of his hood and he checked into the hospital and he walked in and he was fine, but now he won't wake up. But he's not in a coma. He has blood on the brain. So please, everyone, lift up Walby in your prayers. Thank you. Bye.

Hi Dabbers. This is Christopher from the Pretzel City. Tonight our County Board is voting on its annual budget and our finance committee has pulled chaplain funding from the sheriff's budget which I don’t understand because if the chaplain and his folks keep even one prisoner from coming back to visit with us every year, they more than paid for themselves. So could you please pray for two things? First, that funds are restored. And second, that all the people who are addressing this do so in a very Christ-like manner with the mind of Christ and all the wisdom that should be available to them. Thanks guys and God bless you.

Happy family, this is Alphaio calling from Delaware. So I'm sure, as a lot of you have read the book Reframe (thanks Brian for sharing your life-changing testimony), as I ponder upon the words, pictures and ideas presented in the book, I’ve come to realize that truly our lives are all about the choices that we make. We can’t blame God for what our choices give back to. We have to realize that either the small or the big choices, they all echo into eternity. We are fashioning our lives and the lives of many people by our choices, the words we speak, the actions we take, and the thoughts we entertain. It is my humble prayer that we might be very intentional about the choices we make this day and every other minute that we have in this fleeting life because at the end of the day that is all that is going to matter. So instead of anger, why don’t you choose kindness? Instead of arrogance, choose humility. Instead of pride, choose praise and thanksgiving. Instead of malice, hatred, despising others, we should exemplify Jesus Christ. It is about you and your choices. Let God be your partner and redeemer. He will restructure you in every amazing way if you just let him and truly the world will become a better place each day. DAB family, Happy Thanksgiving. This is Alphaio from Delaware.
