Daniel 8:1-27 ~ 1 John 2:1-17 ~ Psalm 120:1-7 ~ Proverbs 28:25-26

Today is December 1st. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's great to be here with you standing at the threshold of the 12th month of the year. So, well done! Eleven months behind us, one month before us, so much before us in the scriptures as we pick up the pace and move through the final books of the Bible for this year and what an amazing time it has been and what an amazing time is out before us in this beautiful season that we have of finishing well and finishing strong. So we’re reading from the New American Bible, Revised Edition this week. We’re in the book of Daniel.

Prayer

Father, as we enter into this final month of the year, we consecrate it to you in advance. It is our desire to finish strong, to finish well, to allow the full weight and measure of the scriptures to seep into our lives and fully transform us. So this is a busy season but we commit to finishing strong because this is the only way to start something else strong. So we are in your presence welcoming you into this, the final month of the year, and inviting you and asking you to speak to us in ways that we can’t ignore and in ways that transform us. We love you. This is a fantastic journey and a beautiful gift that you’ve given us, the gift of community, the gift of your Word and we deeply love you and appreciate. So come Holy Spirit into this month and into all that is before us. We ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Announcements

Www.DailyAudioBible.com is the website, it is home base. Yep, it's where you find out what is going on around here and its Christmastime around here, so several things to go over today. Every year we have an annual Christmas party. Even though we’re far flung all over the world and we’re brothers and sisters who are in places that we never visit and we may never see each other face to face until we are in eternity, we know each other's voices. We love one another. We’ve been community in community all year. So every year we have this little Christmas party. The way that it is done is you call in your Christmas greetings to the community and then we put them all together and go through the nativity story together. It is just one of the most beautiful things that we do. We do a lot of beautiful things every year as we go through the Bible, but we do this every year. If you’ve been through the Daily Audio Bible more than once, then you know. If this is your first year, then you're in for a delight.

So here’s how it works. You call in your Christmas greeting or wishes just to the number for the prayer line and then we’ll compile them as we get toward Christmas. So that number is (877) 942-4253. Here's the deal on that. It is the prayer line. The only thing you need to do, there is like only one rule. Don’t call in a prayer request and a holiday greeting in the same call. Neither one of those will make it. They are like out of context. If you have a prayer request, call it in. If you want to call in a Christmas greeting, call that in separately. I would say do it sooner than later. We always have those last minute ones that are like, “oh shoot, I forgot. I was waiting and then I didn’t get in.” So don’t delay. (877) 942-4253.

Another Christmas thing that is going on is that the Daily Audio Bible 2015 Christmas cards are available at the Daily Audio Bible Shop. There are 25 in a pack and they are $5, $4.99, so you’re not going to beat that. We create them every year because they are a representation of the community. What an awesome way to invite those that you love and care about to take the journey together with you next year which is upon us in just a month. So those are available.
The Daily Audio Bible Christmas Box is available now and, man, it is an amazing one. Promised Land, The Essential Pilgrim's Edition 2 DVD set is in there. You get to choose some of our Windfarm coffee or tea. The annual Daily Audio Bible Christmas bulb for 2015 is in there. And that is the only place you can get the bulb. Reframe, whether it be in book form or audio form is in there and you can choose. The Reframe DVD, the films are in there. A pack of Christmas cards is in there and, while supplies last, we have some bulbs from last year. We’re going to throw those in until we run out of them. And we have the first edition of Promised Land on blu-ray. We’re putting that in there while supplies last as well. So it is killer. It is amazing. Definitely some stuff for you to keep and some stuff for you to give away. It is wonderful. So check that out.

Then, of course, we’ve been mentioning the More Conference, A Gathering for Women that is coming up this April 7 – 10 and we bring it up at this time of year because it is truly a unique and long-lasting gift to give to the woman in your life, whether it is a mother or sister or wife, girlfriend, fiancée. It is amazing to give her the space to go away without any responsibility or obligation to find her heart, to listen to God. So that is coming up in April, but early registration is open now and the early registration pricing will last through the end of the year. So certainly check that out at www.MoreGathering.com.

Let me jump back real quick to the Christmas Box. So for those of you who do not live in the United States, if you live across an ocean somewhere and you plan to order the Christmas Box, then our best recommendation is that you order it by today, tomorrow at the latest if you want it in time for Christmas. If that doesn’t matter, then this doesn’t matter. But we have this arrangement… Well, let me back up.

Shipping out of here across the ocean is very, very expensive. For lots of years it was almost prohibitive. But we made this arrangement with Fed-Ex, with one of their programs to really reduce, drastically reduce the cost of shipping overseas. The only catch is that it takes a while. It is not like overnight. It is not like super fast. It takes a while. They bring it into the country and then ship it through your local postal service. So it can take a couple weeks sometimes and sometimes, depending on where it is, even longer. But it makes it very, very inexpensive. So you have cheap shipping but it takes a while to get to you. If you want it by Christmas, then you need to jump on it now. You can always order and we’ll always ship, but we just want to make you aware that if you're trying to get things for Christmastime and you are an international person outside the United States, then you may want to jump on the Christmas Box now. If you're here in the United States, we still have some time. Our get it there for Christmas is the 17th of December for those who are in the United States.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at www.DailyAudioBible.com. There is a link on the home page in the upper right-hand corner. Thank you for your partnership and generosity in this season. If you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.
And, as always, if you have a prayer request or comment or holiday greeting, (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.

That's it for today. I'm Brian. I love you. I’ll be waiting for you here, tomorrow.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Hey, what's going on my DAB friends and family? This is Saved by Grace, also known as Alleah from Waxahachie. I absolutely loved the Thanksgiving message from Daniel and 1 Peter today because Brian absolutely killed it, like he does pretty much every day. But yeah, we may need to take that advice due to the self-serving culture that we live in. We really need to humble ourselves. Like 1 Peter says: Under the mighty hand of God, casting all our anxiety on him, because when we do that a lot of things definitely start to change. For me it has. I just pray that you have a good Thanksgiving and that everything will work out good as the Bible also says. I also want to say pray for me as I just had 2 job interviews and I want this job really bad. So just pray God's will would be done. Love you all. Have a great Thanksgiving. Bye-bye.

Good evening my Daily Audio Bible family, Mark S. from Sydney Australia. Today I’ve just been leaning towards some prayer requests for myself. Even though wonderful things are happening with God, I feel very, very under attack. I’ve got a lot of stress in my life at the moment. I'm just not coping very well. I’ve gone back to binge eating and it is one of the things I stopped a year ago. I just really need prayer that I can stop the binging. And also my son, as I said previously, he is depressed, doesn’t have a job anymore, so if you could please pray for me. Just that God will help me through this hard period, which I know he will, but it is always hard while you're going through it and I certainly need your prayers, dear family. And also if you could just please pray for my sister-in-law as well who has gone away from the Lord and she is a single parent. She is very depressed as well at the moment, finding a life of not being able to cut wood. I'm a single parent but I have much comfort in the Lord and I don’t know how my sister-in-law copes with no love of God in her life. So could you please pray for her? Her name is Anna. I’ll just say that. And if you could just pray for Anna, that God will touch her heart and bring her back, at least make her feel cared for by God. I thank you so much everyone. I feel selfish just asking for prayers for myself, but I know this is what this prayer line is for as well and I do keep people in prayer as well from this prayer line, even though I don’t say it all the time. Thank you very much everyone and thank you Brian for creating this wonderful ministry through your love of God.

Dawsoneah R. calling. Rita called in Friday, the 27th. Father God, hear Rita, child of God. Hear her heart, Father God. Hear her pain, holy God. She belongs to you. She is yours, Father. She depends on you. There is no one else to depend on, Father. Whatever fear there is, Father, whatever isolation, whatever it is that keeps her in bondage, Father, intercede, Father. Break through, Father. Bring strength and courage, Father God. Attend to her heart, her needs. Attend to the relationships around her. Give her strength, Father God. She is your child. She is in such pain, we can hear just by her voice, just by her crying out, Father God. Bring your saints together, Father God, to support her, to pray for her, to lift her up, to come against Satan in the name of Jesus. Whatever it is, Satan, whatever it is that you have plans for in Rita's life, we come against you in the name of Jesus by the power and the authority of mighty God, Lord God, who is Lord of my life and Lord of many lives, Father. And I know, Lord, I know that I am not the only one praying. Even those that don’t call in, we are praying for you, Rita. We are standing on the Word of God. We are praying often and daily. Father God, hear. Father God, reach into her life, reach into her heart. Strengthen, Father God, your beautiful child, Rita, your child who needs you so desperately, Father God. Holy God, almighty God, in Jesus’ holy, precious, mighty name, name above all names.

Hi. Good morning. This is Angia calling in from New York. It's the day after Thanksgiving 2015 and I don’t know if this will get played on the air, but I just wanted to thank you Brian for your explanation and your mediation on the 2 Peter chapter 1 reading today. Every time I read that in the past that I saw all those different qualities that have to build each other I thought I need a diagram just to remember all those different parts and it always seemed so complicated. You actually simplified it very much and it really strikes home for me right now. I got a little revelation about that when I first became a Christian but time goes by and it is like we think of the sower sowing the Word and the cares of the world come up and choke the Word. You kind of get caught up in fleshy things and superficial things and forget that wonderful divine love and that nature is a part of who we are when we come to Christ. So thank you for that reminder. My prayer for everyone is that we would have that, receive it, become fruitful in it, and walk in it in all that is our lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Hi family. It's Rumbii. Today is the 28th of November. I just wanted to check in and thank you for your continued prayers. Also I __________ know that I'm praying for all the members of ISIS and all those who are vulnerable to committing terrorist attacks and praying that they change their hearts and that they accept God in their lives. I thank you, Blind Tony, for shouting out to me. I'm praying for you. Thank you, Biola. Thank you to everyone who has been there for me. To all of you, really, thank you. Brian and the family and all the people who work behind the scenes, we thank you for your sacrifices and continue to pray for you. And happy birthday, China. I saw on Facebook that it was your birthday. I also wanted to ask you family to continue to pray for me. It has just been a tough year in terms of relationships, friends and family. At the workplace I’ve experienced so much rejection and __________ from people. I’ve tried to be really good and __________. Pray for me so that I have a good relationship with God and I find my completeness in him. I'm looking for a new job as well considering that my current job is not going as well. It's another place where I'm feeling rejection and I'm continually in strife with my boss. I pray for a hedge of protection around me and my family and my mom who is currently overseas visiting her family. Thanking God for all the goodness and pray for __________ to show me in my life. Thank you for always being there, Daily Audio Bible family. God bless you and Merry Christmas.
