Daniel 9:1-11:1 ~ 1 John 2:18-3:6 ~ Psalm 121:1-8 ~ Proverbs 28:27-28

Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. Today is December 2nd. I’m Brian. It is my pleasure and always an honor to be here with you as we take another step forward into this month and through the scriptures. And I greet you from the Pittsburgh area today. Flew in last night, doing an interview today on Cornerstone Live that broadcasts from here; and then we’ll all be back in our own beds tonight. So a very, very quick turnaround trip, but it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in the northern region. In the South in the rolling hills of Tennessee, we get some cold, but it’s not quite upon us and we get very, very, very little snow or anything like that. So, nice to be here for a little nip of cold, a little Christmas cheer. Thank you for your prayers over travel. We’ll all be home tonight.

We’re reading from the New American Bible Revised Edition this week and we’ll pick up where we left off yesterday, Daniel 9:1 – 11:1 today.

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for your Word. Thank you for your kindness, your tenacity, your unstoppable love, the way that you have pursued us all the days of our lives while we were running from you or toward you. You have been present to us always pursuing, always fathering, always coming for us and we are grateful. We thank you for your Word that lights our path, that leads us into all truth, that brings us to your heart. We thank you for your Holy Spirit to counsel and comfort and rebuke us, leading us deeper into Jesus and that’s what we ask. Lead us into all truth. Lead us deeper into Jesus, we pray, in your precious name, amen.

Announcements

Www.DailyAudioBible.com is the website. It’s home base. It’s where you find out what’s going on around here. Like I was saying at the beginning, what’s going on around here is we’re on the road really quick just to talk about Reframe. So thank you for your continued prayers over the Reframe message and that it reaches those who need to hear it. I’m excited to talk about it today. If I can find a link which I’m sure I can, I’ll post it up there on the social media so you can watch it. And then we’ll be back on a plane, back home to Nashville tonight. Since you’re traveling virtually, you will be back home wherever you live, in your own bed tonight. Quick trip.

The other things that are going on around here have to do with the Christmas season. So, the Daily Audio Bible Christmas cards are available in the Daily Audio Bible shop. They’re $4.99 for 25 of them. We have them custom designed and made for our community every year and they’re beautiful. Check them out. You’re not going to find Christmas cards cheaper than that and it’s a wonderful way to invite those that you care most about to take the journey, the adventure of a lifetime through the scriptures with you next year.

The annual Daily Audio Bible Christmas Box is also available and it is absolutely a great Christmas Box. There’s stuff in there that you’re going to want to keep and there’s stuff in there that you’re going to want to give away. I was mentioning yesterday, and let me do this at the top so this doesn’t get lost, if you are international and you want your Daily Audio Bible Christmas Box by Christmas, you need to order by today. I mean it may get there and it may not if you wait any longer. We have made an arrangement to drastically reduce shipping cost overseas but it also drastically increases the amount of time that it takes to get there. So, if you want it by Christmas, don’t wait anymore. Of course, you can try and we’ll do everything we can, but after we deliver it to FedEx, it’s kind of out of our control. When they get it into your country and put it into your local postal system, well then, just depending on how busy that is and how efficient it is, that’s how fast it will get to you. If you are here in the United States, there’s still some time.
So the Christmas Box, and we’ve filled it literally. We have these Daily Audio Bible Boxes and we filled it to kind of the point where we can’t get anything more in it. So, it’s got the Promised Land Pilgrim’s Edition 2-DVD set in it; it’s got some of our Windfarm coffee or, if you prefer, tea in it; it’s got the annual Daily Audio Bible Christmas bulb for 2015 in it; Reframe, a signed first edition copy of Reframe is in there or, if you prefer, you can select the CD audio edition of Reframe; the Reframe Films group resource – 5 films all around the themes of Reframe that are just amazing (if I do say so myself). They are very thought-provoking and emotionally engaging. That’s in there. A pack of 25 Christmas cards is in there. And then we have a couple of bonus things that I’m super excited about. Like we have some Christmas bulbs from last year, while supplies last (and they won’t last all the way through), but while they last, we’re going to throw one of those from last year in the box. And then we have the first, so we released Promised Land (what was it? 2 years ago?) and then we released Promised Land: The Essential Pilgrim’s Edition this year with double the content so it is the finished version, but we released Promised Land earlier and we’re including a blu-ray from the original Promised Land in the box as well, while supplies last. So there’s stuff in there, like stuff you’re going to want to keep and stuff you’re going to want to give away and that’s kind of always been our theme. We love that and its very communal and its very community. So check that out at www.DailyAudioBible.com in the Daily Audio Bible Shop.

We’ve also been talking about the More Gathering, this gathering for women that we do every year, coming up in April. It is a unique and long-lasting gift, men, that you could give to your wives; daughters, that you could give to your mothers; mothers, that you could give to your daughters; friends that you could give each other. Man, I can’t say enough about it. I really, really can’t. You can check it out at www.MoreGathering.com and early registration is open through the end of the year. It’s as inexpensive as we can make a conference like this where you’re able to kind of come in, all of your lodging, all of your food, everything is already taken care of, all of the supplies that you’ll need. The space has been created for you to find your heart and have space for yourself and time with God. The table is set and all you got to do is come to the feast. So check that out at www.MoreGathering.com.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible during this season where we have a generous spirit, then I can’t thank you enough. Seriously, we don’t do what we do unless we all do it together. So thank you for your partnership in allowing the Daily Audio Bible to exist. There’s a link, it’s in the upper right-hand corner of the home page of www.DailyAudioBible.com. Or, if you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.
And, as always, if you have a prayer request or comment, (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.

And that’s it for today. I’m Brian. I love you. I’ll be waiting for you back in the rolling hills of Tennessee, tomorrow.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Hi Daily Audio Bible family, it’s Laura calling from New York. I’m one of those people that doesn’t call in because I’m sure there’s a lot of you out that don’t call in because you don’t want to bother people and all this; but I was thinking to myself tonight, I want to be a Walta, I want to be a Biola, I want to a Blind Tony, I want to be one of those people. So I’m going to start calling. And I’m calling because I’ve called over the years about this custody battle that I’m having with my boys. The father is trying to take them away and I don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve cut every single thing out of my life that’s pretty much negative or going against God and this has happened in the last year. And I put God first in everything now. I’ve learned so much through the Daily Audio Bible, to read the scriptures and all this. And the other day, I was listening to Brian when he was talking about something. I don’t get that much time to really pay 100% attention because I’ve got the two boys – a tiny baby and a 4-year old. Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! But saying that God puts you in these battles and you should be thankful and all this. And yes, I am thankful for the battle I’ve been working through for the past nearly year and a half because it has put God first and I’ve thrown my arms up there and said all I’ve got is you. I’ve lost friends. I’ve lost everything, pretty much, except for my boys and my apartment, that’s all I have left in the whole world, and God. And now I want to just start over. I want to start over. I want new friends. I want a new life. I want a Christian life. I had a Christian life but not to the extent it should have been. So, I’m just throwing my arms up there and saying I’m going to put myself out there. So Daily Audio Bible, pray for me. Pray for my boys. We’re in the middle of this custody battle.
Hey DAB family, it’s Chris from London. I’m just calling this morning to give you a praise report to thank you so much for praying for my mom. Her operation was placed in the DAB prayer request at the end of the podcast and thanks so much for praying for her. She had a good surgery, thank God and yeah, she’s at home resting now. She’s been discharged so give glory to God for that. And just to remind everyone God is faithful and his plans are good for us so let’s just trust him in all that we say or do. And yes, love you guys. Thank you so much, bye.

Hello Dabbers, this is Kathleen in Mount Vernon, IL, and I’m just calling for a couple of things, really quick. My friend’s daughter whose name is Celina has oral cancer they found out and she’s in her 40s, has children. She has never smoked, never had anything to do with tobacco, but has oral cancer and so they need prayers. And also for my little niece, Carissa. Not so little, she’s in your 30s. I called in about her a while back. She had back surgery and had an infection on her spine and she’s doing much better, but still needs a lot of prayer. She needs to be able to walk and take care of her little ones. As I’m calling, I’d like to also, I haven’t called in about ISIS for a long time. So last year I had called in and a bunch of us had agreed around noon every day to set our alarms and pray that ISIS would be taken care of from the inside out; that there would be people because we know that there are people on the inside who want out but cannot get out because they will be killed. And so we’re praying that those people can get out; that there will be a hedge of protection around them so that they are able to move on and help the rest of us defeat ISIS. I just pray that you would set your alarms between 12 and 1 every day. I know sometimes it’s going to get annoying because that alarm is going to come on and you’ll be in the middle of something else. In fact, every day that will probably happen. But just try to keep in mind the importance of it and I have heard lots of reports as we were doing that about people being able to escape. So, I pray that you would do that with me and set your alarms between 12 and 1 every day.

Hi, it's Bromwell from London, the U.K. I just wanted to call in and encourage people to keep calling the for prayer request and encouragement. I’m kind of noted that the length of the community encouragement calls has shortened, gone down to about an hour, so just to encourage you, keep calling in even if you don’t hear your prayer mentioned. We do pray for you. We are praying constantly. A lady called in from Ohio about her job and her interview that never went right and you were not sure whether you were calling for prayer or just encouragement. Please do call in, please call us back. It’s good to hear what you’re going through and we pray for you. So just to encourage you to keep calling and if you have a breakthrough, that would be fantastic. Let us know. If you don’t, call again in a month or two. Remind us to keep praying, that you haven’t had a breakthrough. Thanks a lot again. It's Bromwell from the U.K. Bye-bye.

Hi, this is Millie. I’m just so thankful, Brian, for your ministry. I’m calling with family concerns and personal concerns. I’m currently unemployed, have been for 18 months and just discouraged. Just don’t know what God’s doing but I know he’s there. I ask you to pray that he would move on behalf of myself and my family. And I’m a new listener. I joined in October and I have managed to catch up to you. I’m a week behind now and really enjoy the ministry. It has really spoken to my heart. Look forward to hearing you every day, Brian. Thanks, bye.
