Amos 4:1-6:14 ~ Revelation 2:18-3:6 ~ Psalm 130:1-8 ~ Proverbs 29:21-22

Today is December 11th. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It’s great, great to be here with you today. Great to take just a few minutes out of the day, center ourselves around the scriptures, be in community together, allow God’s Holy Spirit to speak through his Word. And so, what an honor to be with you today. We’re reading from the God’s Word Translation. We’re in the book of Amos today.

Prayer

Oh Father, this Psalm 130 that we read today, this is our earnest prayer. We call to you from the depths, the depths of our identity. We call to you from the deepest part of who we are and we call to you from the depths of our circumstance or the status or shape of our lives. We call to you knowing that you will hear us, knowing that your ears will be open to our pleas for mercy because no matter what our circumstance, your mercy is the one thing that we rely on, that we need daily. If you kept a record of all of the missteps, all of the rebellion within us, all of our sin, who would be able to stand before you? But with all of your mercy, because of who you are, with you there is forgiveness, and we have awe and respect. We are humbled beyond words. We fall to our knees and bow our heads and fear you because your mercy is so compelling and so desperately needed. So, we wait. Our soul waits. We wait with hope for you to speak. Our soul waits for you more than those who wait for the morning to finally come. We put our hope in you because with you there is mercy and with you there is unlimited forgiveness. You are good. You are all that is pure. You are all that is love. You are all that is kind and you are all that is righteous. There is no other well to drink from, to receive mercy and righteousness. We can only get this from you. And you can only bestow this upon us. And so, humbly we ask for your mercy, for grace, for kindness, for forgiveness, that you will bestow these things upon us and that we can walk through this day clean, clear, awake, aware, connected to you, in fellowship with you, in friendship and relationship with you, intimate with you. Come Holy Spirit, we pray in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

Announcements

Www.DailyAudioBible.com is the website. It’s where you find out what’s going on around these parts in this community. It’s Christmastime, so the Christmas box we’ve been talking about for a bit is available. It’s got all the goodies in it. Promised Land: The Essential Pilgrim’s Edition. It’s 4 hours of content and so many of the locations, so many of the actual places that we have visited as we’ve traveled through the Bible together. So you can pop that on as a reference and just see where we’ve been. See it with your own eyes where we’ve been. It’s amazing! There’s some Windfarm coffee in there or tea, if you prefer tea. The annual Daily Audio Bible Christmas bulb, that’s only available in the Christmas Box each year, is in there. Reframe is in there. And I know a lot of you have Reframe and have read Reframe. The feedback let me know that I just hit a nerve. The things that I needed to explore needed to be explored by more than just me. If you haven’t read Reframe yet - you need somebody else to say, “Yeah, you need to read this;” but I’m the author and saying, “Hey, you need to read this,” so what else am I going to say? But you need to read this. Alright, it’s in there. And you can get the book or the audio edition CDs. The Reframe films are there to go deeper into that message. Christmas cards are in there. And until we run out, our first generation of Promised Land on blu-ray we’re packing in there as well. So there’s stuff in there that you’re going to want to keep and there’s stuff in there that you’re going to want to give away. And that’s the beauty of the Daily Audio Bible Christmas Box. So check that out at the Daily Audio Bible store at www.DailyAudioBible.com.

You can also get the Christmas cards stand-alone outside of the box. You can get as many of those as you want. They’re $5.00 for 25 cards with envelopes. So, you can’t buy Christmas cards cheaper than that. And these are custom-crafted, designed, and made for our community. So those are available.

If you haven’t called in your Christmas greeting yet for the Daily Audio Bible Family Christmas, do it! Do it today! Don’t put it off. Don’t wait until it’s too late and then wish you did -- (877) 942-4253 that’s the number. And that number probably sounds familiar because it’s the prayer line. So, the only rule about this is don’t call a prayer request and holiday greeting in the same call. So make them separate calls so that we can separate them easily as we produce and prepare for the Family Christmas and it’s beautiful. If this is your first year through the Daily Audio Bible then you’re in for a significant treat with the Daily Audio Bible Family Christmas.

And then our women’s conference, the More Gathering, is coming up in April and we have early registration available because it makes a very unique one-of-a-kind life-changing Christmas gift. And so check that out. There’s a link at www.DailyAudioBible.com or you can go to www.MoreGathering.com.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible and just supporting and keeping this community going and strong and happening every day, thank you. This is a season of giving and thank you for considering Daily Audio Bible and allowing us to continue as a community to march forward. I appreciate it. I appreciate it very much. There’s a link on the home page, it’s in the upper right hand corner.
The mailing address, if you prefer, is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

And as always, if you have a prayer request, comment, or holiday greeting right now, (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.

And that’s it for today. I’m Brian. I love you. I’ll be waiting for you here, tomorrow.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Good morning Dabbers, it’s Kathleen M., Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. I’m just ringing in a prayer request. Thank you very much everybody for praying and thank you Brian and Jill for your wonderful working cross in keeping this Daily Audio Bible community going. It’s great to belong. Year in and year out, I wouldn’t miss the first fruits of the day listening to the Bible. A woman at church, she is the pastor, one of the pastors, she has just been diagnosed with cancer. She wants another fifteen years, believing for it and just pray. One of the cancers they operated and couldn’t find it, so that’s the start. So yeah, thank you very much for lifting her up. Her name is Irene, Range Christian Fellowship, Toowoomba. Bless you all, bye.

Hi family, it’s Shannon from Texas. I just want to tell you how much I love you guys. I’ve been praying for and with you and I was just listening to the community prayer. And as I was listening to a few of the people, I was just heard the Lord speak to me (sorry, I’m walking and I’m out of breath). The afflictions of the righteous are many but he delivers us from them all. And I looked up the word affliction. It doesn’t say he delivers us from some of them, it says he delivers us from all of them. And it says disorder, disease, complaints, ailments, illness, indisposition, plague, trouble, suffering, distress, pain, misery, hardship, misfortune, adversity, sorrow, torment, tribulation, woe. And I just want to claim that over myself, over my brother and his back pain, and over everyone that has called in. And I’m going to keep praying and believing with all of you. I love you guys. Bye-bye.

Hi, this is Faithful in Washington and I have a praise report. Before that, I just want to say Caroline in Colorado, I’m praying for you, I’m praying for your heart, your health, your husband, your marriage, your son. Please call in. Let us know how you’re doing. Michael in Manchester, still praying for you, for your wife, for your family, for healing. My praise report, to give you a background, I called in July and August after separating from my husband after 15 years. My 12- and 14-year-old daughters and I moved out and said that we wouldn’t be back unless he was sober forever. And he filed for divorce. It’s almost final. And he contacted me three days ago asking for reconciliation. It’s been three weeks since he’s had a drink. He doesn’t want to have another drink again in his life. We have long road ahead of us, but God has worked a miracle already and I’m more thankful than I can explain. I just thank you for your prayer and that you would continue to lift us up. God has worked one miracle in taking the drinking and I just pray that he would claim my husband’s heart and that that would be the second miracle that would restore our family completely. And in the meantime, we’ll be walking slowly as we try to seal the family and the marriage again. I thank you. I’m just so grateful for your prayers. And Scott in Alaska, I just especially thank you for your prayers and your offer to support my husband and get him sober. Don’t know if he’ll ever call you, but I thank you for your offer. Thank you brothers and sisters, Merry Christmas.

Hey Daily Audio Bible family. I’m calling you today from Florida. My prayer request today is for my family or for my marriage, I should say I guess. My family or my marriage is failing. My husband asked me for a divorce the other day. He told me he doesn’t want to really work anymore. But I’m fighting for our marriage. I’m praying that God would restore us to where we were. I love my husband with all of my heart. We’ve been through so much. We went through the birth of my daughter, living overseas, and a miscarriage of my last child, which I’m still trying to get over. I guess I hope and pray for that. I would have been eight months pregnant this month and it’s getting harder as I get closer to my due date. My primary prayer request is for mine and my husband’s relationship. We used to be so happy, but that’s the reason that we’ve just grown farther and farther apart. I just pray that God just restores what we had, and not just a passionate love for each other, but a passionate love for him. So Daily Audio Bible family, I just pray that you will keep my family in your prayers this holiday season and just pray that everyone out there is doing okay. Thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts. Have a wonderful Christmas.

God, please be with everyone out there today. God, I pray that you’ll be with them, that you’ll give them strength and help them today. Just for everyone who is either quietly listening or even the ones who call in. God I pray that you let them have strength today. And also for the people who need help and direction in their lives. God, who are seeking you for traction. I pray that you’ll be with them and help them. May you help me in figuring out just direction and strength, God. I pray that you’ll give each of them that, God. I pray specifically that you’ll be with Richard from Canada. God, I pray that you’ll give him strength for the day. Just watch over him and keep him. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen. This is Sarah from West Virginia. Thanks, bye.
