Zechariah 10:1-11:17 ~ Revelation 18:1-24 ~ Psalm 146:1-10 ~ Proverbs 30:33

Today is December 27th. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. Welcome to a new week. Wow, a big week. Before this week is over, it will be a new year. We are in the final sprint now as we move through the scriptures and complete the Bible for 2015. Hard to believe. I’ve said that a number of times throughout the year. I say it a number of times throughout every year. Hard to believe how fast we’ve moved through this, but here we are. Well done. If you are here right now and you were here on January 1st, well done. You are going to make it. What a journey it has been. So this is a new week. We’ll read from the New Life Version.

Prayer

Father, we thank you for your Word. We thank you for this new week. And Lord, it is the line of demarcation, the year changes again, so we have these few days to reflect back and to look forward. We invite you into all of that. What's next for us, Lord? How do we finish strong? What does that look like in our own stories? We invite you into that conversation. This whole year we have been reframing. We’ve been tipping things on its side and looking at it from a different angle and seeing the same thing completely differently and allowing you to unpack so much. We’ve been exploring our relationship with you. We’ve been realizing we don’t know everything we think we know and we’ve been realizing how much we long to control our relationship with you and manage it and arrange for things in it, just like we do in every other relationship. We’ve considered what it would look like to be healthy, what shalom would look like in our lives and we’re really looking forward to exploring that in the year to come. What does it look like to walk with you intimately in a friendship? What does it look like to be healthy, to just live in this place that your sacrifice provided for us? So we invite you, Holy Spirit, into these days as we prepare for the year to change, as we prepare to conclude this particular revolution through the scriptures. We ask you to speak. Speak into these things. Show us how to finish well. Show us how to begin strong. Show us how to live healthy. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

Announcements

Www.DailyAudioBible.com is the website, home base, where you find out what is going on around here. The end of the year is what is going on around here. Like I said yesterday, probably like I’ll say most of the rest of the days of the year (which are only a few), make sure you download if you're behind… If you're behind, you may not hear this until it is too late, but the year changes and so does the Daily Audio Bible. We start a new year. We’re working to try to keep the last week of the Daily Audio Bible, the last week of December up for a week, so those of you who are just like a little bit behind can catch up, but the year changes and so does everything else about the Daily Audio Bible. We’re starting anew, so make sure you have downloaded whatever you want. If you miss out on that, then the Daily Audio Bible for 2015 in its entirety will be available in the Daily Audio Bible Shop after January 1st. So heads up.

We’ve been talking about the More Gathering for, I guess, around a month, just from Thanksgiving and into the New Year. It is early registration for our women's conference. It takes place April 7-10 this year and so if you want to take advantage of the early registration and its pricing, make sure you do that by December 31st and then it will just go to normal as we move in toward the time of the spring and new life and that's exactly what this More Gathering is all about. So be sure to check it out at www.MoreGathering.com.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at www.DailyAudioBible.com. As we approach the end of the year, if you would like a charitable contribution receipt for the year 2015, then thank you for your partnership in the year 2015. We’ll be sure to get that to you right after the New Year. There is a link in the upper right-hand corner of the home page of www.DailyAudioBible.com. It's red. If you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

And, as always, if you have a prayer request or comment, (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.

That's it for today. I'm Brian. I love you. I’ll be waiting for you here tomorrow.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Hey Dabbers. This is Walta, the burning bush that will not be devoured for the glory of our God and King. Last year at this time I was separated from my husband and my youngest son during Christmas and it was hard. My youngest son was 7 at the time. Today I have my two sons with me, the older one who was here last year and the younger one is here. My husband is still in Romania, but my perspective has changed. I am praising God that my baby is here with me, knowing that all things will work together for good to them that love and serve God. So I'm just reaching out to all those parents that find themselves away from their kids or spouses that have been separated either legally or just, like me, circumstantially, circumstances led you to be separated, or just those going through divorce. I want you to remember that God is right there with you and just a little time will go by and you will completely see the bigger picture. You will understand. I'm praying for those who are struggling in their marriages and I'm praying for God to heal your marriage, heal your heart, reconcile you to one another, in the name of Jesus. I love you guys. Talk to you soon. It's Walta. Bye.

Hey DAB family. This is Michael from New Mexico, just listening to the December 18th podcast and I heard Richard. I heard you once before and the Lord told me to call and I didn’t listen, but I wanted to call now. I wanted to let you know first of all you need to forgive yourself for what happened. I don’t know exactly what transpired but God's grace is sufficient for all of us. That is the first thing I want to tell you. The second thing I want to tell is when then enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord lifts up the standard against it. That is what I sense in your case, brother. You need to find that peace, whatever you have to do. If you have to listen to the Word continuously, do so. I went through this, okay? I know what it is like to have your kid taken. It was a horrible thing. It took us 19 months to get her back, but we did get her back and our faith is much stronger as a result. Remember that God will bring you through it, that he is right there with you and don’t you dare give up. Don’t you dare let the enemy take your joy. Don’t lose your joy, brother. Father, I just lift up Richard to you right now. I ask, Lord, that you would intervene in this situation, that you would give him supernatural favor with the authorities. Whatever changes that he needs to make in his life, Father, I ask that you would help him to make them, and we put all of our faith and trust in you, Lord, because we know that you care for us. Lord, we ask, Father, that you would give them wisdom, what needs to be done with these kids. Lord, give them some common sense, too.

Hey everybody. This is Steve from __________ Salt Lake City and I just want to thank everybody. I want to thank all the people that call in, for sharing their good, their bad, their ugly. I want to thank all the people that don’t call in, that just listen because I know they are like me and my wife. We pray daily for everybody on the call. But anyway, the Daily Audio Bible has totally, 100% changed my life and I want to thank God for my daughter, which needs prayer, for turning us on to it. Anyway, that's a long story. I just want to thank everybody for calling in and praying and this is just absolutely amazing. I'm getting ready to start my third year and I can hardly wait. I want to send a shout-out to Scott from West Valley City. Bud, it sounds like you’ve got a long way to go, but you are in the right place. The Daily Audio Bible is an awesome place and I just want you to know that you’ve got a lot of people praying for you, so hang in there and keep calling. I just don’t even know what to say to Blind Tony, but you hit it right on the head every single time. Anyway, Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. I’ll be looking forward to seeing everybody next year. Have a great one.

Good morning Daily Audio Bible family. This is Jeremy in Clarence, NY. This is my first year through the Bible with the Daily Audio Bible. I discovered it in April and started at the beginning of the year, got caught up probably in October then now listening to it as each show is posted. I'm just very blessed for this community and for the Word and the work that Brian and his folks do. I'm calling in this morning because I listened to Rumbii's prayer request that she called in on December 13th about migraine headaches that have lasted for 8 months or so. Rumbii, I’ve been through something very similar to this. I don’t know if your story is as reflective of my story, I imagine, but I saw 4 doctors, my primary care physician and 3 neurologists. The first 3 doctors, including the first 2 neurologists all meant well but they continued to prescribe me pain medication. The third neurologist I saw knew immediately that it was the pain medication that was causing the daily, persistent, severe migraines. So my advice to you and my prayer for you is that you’ll not give up hope, that you will believe that there is a cure and you will continue to seek that out. If the one neurologist can’t figure it out, go to the next one. Somebody will be able to help you. I’ll pray for you, Rumbii, and for everyone listening to the Daily Audio Bible. Thank you.

Merry Christmas, Daily Audio Bible. This is Tommie from Chicago. I know we have a few of those, so I’ll just say I'm the lady from Chicago. I know you guys haven’t heard from me in a while, but I'm still a listener, just calling to say again Merry Christmas and let's not forget the reason for the season which is the __________ from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So let's be in a spirit of giving. Even if we can’t give monetarily, like myself, let's give with love. Let's give with acts of kindness, you know, just holding a door open for someone is an awesome act. There are a lot of people who have no family, they don’t interact with their family, such as myself. Invite someone over for Christmas dinner. That would mean a whole lot, so just wanted to say Happy New Year. Merry Christmas. I'm praying for you guys. I can’t wait until the wonderful year of 2016. I think God has some really good __________ come next year. So alright guys. Have a blessed __________ and I’ll talk to you in 2016. Bye-bye.

Hi Dabbers, this is Walta. I will not be devoured for the glory of our God and King. Today is Saturday, the 19th of December. Rumbii, Rumbii, my sister Rumbii. I prayed for you when I heard your request and I prayed for healing of the headache and for your brother, for him to come to a place with God and with his family, with your mom. Annette from OK City, we love you, so glad to hear your voice. I prayed for your dad also, for him to have a safe trip to you, and I also prayed for harmony during the holidays for your family. James, the teacher in L.A., thank you so much for sharing. You always have words of wisdom. Blessed Like Me, you always make me smile. Loved the song and just love the word that you always…you speak like a preacher, so amen to that. Garth from the UK, you are also a man of wisdom. I just appreciate all these godly men and just the wisdom that you bring forth. Max from Sydney, Australia, thank you for sharing that we should not judge but pray. I will take that into consideration. And JLS for Jesus, Glendale, love you. Praying for your daughter Chante and Jeffrey and believing God for restoration of that relationship, in Jesus’ name. Guys, I love you all. I know going through this holiday season for some is stressful, for some it is just laid back, relaxing and for some it is lonely. Again, I just want to challenge you to look to God, find your inner peace in him and I know that God is faithful to do abundantly beyond your expectations. God bless you and see you next year.
