Giving through DAB
I see the Coffee campaign link, and I understand that i can donate directly through the DAB giving area, but I would like to show my wife and friends some more detail about how DAB is involved with the trafficking issue. Are you forwarding our contributions to Exodus Cry, or were you intending to challenge us to give there directly, or are contributions sent via DAB going to Brian's son's work at IHOP? regards,

Kurt

Am I too late to donate directly to the Trafficing issue, I can not seem to figure out a way to earmark a singel donation on the giving page to the trafficing? I know I can do it through coffee but feel kind-a weird donating as part of something I receive at the same time.... I would rather donate directly if thats possible, so any help would be appreciated..... Thanks Rick

Right now our giving is focused through the Coffee, Justice, You. program. We had a special month of giving to harvest dollars for the cause of human trafficking most of which is going to serve Exodus Cry. The leader of Exodus cry has been in the Middle East on a mission but just got back into the States this week for the Holidays. He and I have a meeting on Monday. I'll update the community on that once it takes place. We're trying to orchestrate an interactive community event that will allow us to pray together but also to become more informed. Monies raised through the coffee campaign will be used in a number of ways. I'll look at that more clearly in the new year as we're not going to stop battling the issue. This is not something that will just fade from our view. We're not going to forget what's going on. At the same time, we're not going to make it everything we do. The Daily Audio Bible is a family whose central mission is to bring the spoken Word of God to anyone who will listen anywhere in the world. Everything flows from that place.

Kurt, if you have any reservations at all (or anyone for that matter) do not give. Wait until you have peace in your heart about it. I feel that way about the Daily Audio Bible itself. It's a family affair, without the family it cannot exist but anyone feeling funny about giving should simply NOT do it. We set out on a journey together and made a commitment that it wouldn't turn into a "begging" ministry believing that God would honor His Word through His people.

I guess the reason I'm spending a little more time in this post is that so many strange things have been done over the years that people come at charitable giving cautiously. I know I do. I can appreciate that because we're all stewards of what God has given us. The flip side is that we should probably only give to what God invites us into. Then we have the confidence that it's not really our problem. All we have to do is obey. I don't want to put the Daily Audio Bible into "prove it" mode on human trafficking. Give if you're invited by Jesus to give. DON'T give if you don't feel the Holy Spirit asking you to. That's a safe place to be. As we go forward (remember, we just started all this one month ago) we'll be able to see the fruit of our labor in this area. I'll be able to report back what we're doing and what it's impact is. It will integrate into our family values and mission rather than being a third arm or something more strange. I hope that helps.

Blessings

Ok so I missed the direct method of giving timeframe opportunity, I'll wait till January to see how it unfolds, I do have a heart to give , I'm just not liking getting something in exchange for my giving, somehow does not feel to me like giving when I do it that way, there is no sacrifice ....

Buy the coffee. Give it away and explain what it is so that the next person can also buy coffee and give it away. Get people talking around a cup of coffee about justice and our responsability to bring it.

Blessings

Oh, that makes sense, I'll buy it for our new space and use it for ministry, especially the Mens group that I'm hoping to kick off soon..... My wife can use it for her womens groups , starting soon as well.... That will also give me a way to naturally point folks to DAB as its' saved my life I'm convinced..... Good suggestion , I guess I'll get over myself on the other minutia.... :) No more excuses! (what a pervibial crock that was :) !)

I just listened to the October traffic podcast for the first time. Is there a way to donate directly now, or just buy coffee?
