Hello, I just finished listening and reading along Week 2 of restored. It is a strong chapter... renouncing everything that is apart from the truth. The chapter has helped bring to mind all the activities I have been involved in that is against the word of God. I had a hard time dealing with it. I will go through it again during this week... I finished the whole process and I believe I need guidance to go through the steps. I have some powerful strongholds that I want to be set free from...

I'm a member of a greek letter organization and I too am struggling with this weeks chapter. I don't feel as if my association with the organization keeps me from knowing Gods truth but some of the rituals/practices were brought to my mind while going through the first step.

Hi Jax. This is a strong chapter, one that must be faced head on right from the start. On the surface some will see it as politically incorrect. Historically this chapter causes some to become uncomfortable, want to quit, or even lash out at the teachings.

The bottom line is that there is only one path to God, through the Lord Jesus Christ His only Son and only one book of ultimate Truth, the Bible -the divinely inspired word of God. Any other belief system, cult, religious culture, or pathway is not of God and must be denounced. This may cause people to be uncomfortable or angry because many place humanitarianism above God, which is in itself an erronious belief because it places man and a global consciousness first. Good intentions gone bad. It is also the time where false teachings surface and those who follow them begin to feel the heat.

I can honestly say that I have checked most of the non-Christian beliefs in this chapter and many many more not mentioned. I spent much of my life exploring just about every false teaching there us, from ancient religions to modern false religions. I've run the gammet from atheist evolutionists to Satan worshipped to religious cults to universalism to new age to you name it. Every year I do this, more comes to the surface. In the end I feel greater freedom, a palpable release, and closer to the heart of God. I go e from the bride of Satan to a daughter of God and heir with Christ. It is truly amazing.

So this us where the rubber hits the road, right up front. Time to hear the darkness scream and lash out as we storm the gates, expose the lies, and break the strongholds. Is there something in particular you want to talk about Jax? How can I help you through this?

Shannon, this is a highly personal experience. Ask God to speak to you through the Holy Spirit. There may be many rituals and practices in seemingly harmless organizations that at one time may have had a significant meaning or that may have been modelled, even in jest or without, a sinister motive, on some occult ritual in the past. Only God can speak to you on what this may mean. By no means should we look for the devil in every doorway or behind every tree, but rest assured that the sinister nature of the occult and false teachings can be subtle. I mean, if Satan is out to steal souls, he mist assuredly us not going to present something to humanity as a sure-fire path to spiritual death and destruction. On the contrary, the lie will be disguised as something good, fun, interesting, exotic, humane, or worst of all - harmless or cool. - like the current cultural obsession with vampires, mediums, ghost hunters, and "good witche.s" Whatever you do, do not fall into to condemnation over this. Just ask God to reveal the truth and then give you the strength to glow through.
