lol That's a good one Kelley "can we just sit here and just dream up stuff to you to do, Brian?". I often say that to my staff on Monday mornings when we have our meeting. It seems they come with all these great ideas...however when analyzed their ideas create more responsibilities for me. I think the above ideas are great, of course I do because I will be the blessed recipient and Brian will have to do all the work. Thanks Brian for being there for all of us.

I have listened to several audio Bibles and although they were all good, Brian's voice just does it for me. I would love for him to create an audio Bible. And I also have no problem paying for it. Keep up the amazing work, Brian.

Thanks for your commitment Brian. Your faithfulness and example have made an incredible, incredible impact on me, and thousands of others. Praying for you and your family now.

I keep getting an email about this asking me to weigh in on this. I am not against this sort of project at all. I've thought about things like this for a couple of years it's just not even going to get on the radar for at least a year. Right now I am attempting to provide the Deuterocanonical texts to those who revere them and introduce them to protestants who are losing some of the greatest writings of the Church. This is intensely time consuming. After that will be an attempt to reclaim in audible form some of the writings that are all but lost that were at one time classics of the Faith. There are new readings being done for a Daily Audio Psalm companion to the DAB that can hopefully be released in 2011, I'm completing a manuscript for release in Sept 2011 for Harper Collins aimed at those who really want to read the Bible but don't know where to start or why as well as a Bible utilizing abridged commentaries from the last five years of the DAB denoting the release of a newly revised version of the NIV with Zondervan.

Along with all of that there is the planting of the WindFarm Cafe here in Spring Hill as a model that can be replicated elsewhere and the planting of the Four Winds Mission, a community of faith that God has asked me to pastor.

Basically that accounts for my life at the moment so although I'd love to do this project it's going to take some time before it can be seriously considered but there will come a day since the mission of the DAB is to bring the spoken Word of God to anyone who will listen, anywhere, anytime.

Blessings
Brian

Wow that would be a monotinous task, however you merge the entire year into 1 massive Wave File and then edit out all the stuff that is not the actual reading of the word.... Then I guess you could do the same thing only this time only keeping the discussion or transcript portion of each day..... well the Wave would be enormous so I don't know the right software to use..... If anyone under the age of twenty does lets talk, I'd be willing to volunteer some time to do this, especially if I processed one week per day it would take roughly 60 days... I'm guessing it would take about 3 hours a day, 2 1/2 of which is converting to Wave, so it could be done while I'm working on other Website stuff..... If anyone is interested we could form a team of like 12 people and each person could do one month..... Of course Brian would have to give us a FTP site someplace in his server farm to upload our work, Hey many hands make light work, if this is what you want then lets do it..... But lets keep Brian way out of it, he has way too much on his plate already.... Just thinking out loud... :)

Of course why not just go to a site that already does this like Faith Comes By Hearing... Pick you version and away you go..... Of course no one can read like Brian...

I have read through the Bible one book at a time, Chronologically and in many other ways...but I keep on coming back to the format we do at DAB. I just need the NT the Psalms and the proverbs in my life everyday as well as the OT...I have followed this format more than any other during my 30some years as a Christian. I would say that Brian's choice is the good one long term. I really enjoy the different versions too. The only problem I have is that I am a Kinesthetic learner, which means that I need to use more than one sense (listening with seeing or reading, or listening with touching or writing...) in order to retain something. My audio learning is pretty weak, but when I add visual aids (the words of the version of the Bible Brian is reading) I learn really well. I used the DAB link to Biblegateway so that the readings of the versions are downloaded to my computer everyday...its fantastic...when it works! There were some problems since January 2011 that were cleared up by Biblegateway and they got onto The Good News version this week as it was announced...but then it changed to God's Word translation...even the DAB website said it was The Good News version...I don't know what happened? I really appreciate it when the versions and the download match up....thanks for all your hard work...I just wanted you to know how the written version can be so important as a tool for people to understand God's Word when it is read. Especially for this generation of screen grown people...and ADHD people. One hundred years ago listening was a skill learned from radio and family book reading as there were no screens!!! Not everybody has good audio learning skills...especially non musical people! Musicians always have top notch audio skills....that's maybe why most people helping at DAB don't realize the need for the written form as well! Thanks so much and I am praying that God continues to bless this fantastic ministry!!
