Jake and Kelley: Thank you so much for your imput, very true thoughts. And thank you for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate any warm thought at this time.

Catholica: I apologize, I didn't mean to offend in any way, I live in a place where being a Christian is not well accepted, we are called "fanatics", the majority of people are Catholic (I was one before); I completely forgot that it is another denomination in the US. Sorry about that!

Estrellita, I understand how you feel. I believe we all fight a battle some how. We all get confronted with challenges every day and for me it is so important to keep listening to Gods Word or reading it etc. But you get days where you have listend, worshiped and prayed and still feel lonely.
I believe God has a purpose for you wherever you are. He teaches you to love people and other believers, no matter what denomiation they are, unconditionally. He is the one who wants to mould you into for what he wants to use you. Do not focus on the others, rather focus on what you can do for Him today. (I think this was preaching to myself too)

Hi Estrellita, thanks for the apology. Catholics are Christians!

Helga, thank you for your kind words, you sound like a very sincere soul to me, and have such a special way to communicate your thoughts.
I will make a prayer customer-service-like to God: What can I do for you today?
How about that?

Thanks Estrellita, You should do everything as unto the Lord. We tend to what about me instead of thank you Lord that I by grace have been saved and that I am here for a purpose, He wants and needs to use you.
I like your prayer costumer service...........What can I do for you Lord today. Let me also do it

I remember hearing a friend who was in Mexico comment that the Catholic church there was very different from what it is here -- I cannot verify this though. They commented that it almost appeared to take on the pagan religions in Mexico instead of being Christian -- has anybody seen or heard of this sort of thing before?

hmm i guess i heard a little of that.

well, Catholicism takes many forms across the world - all under the nominal authority of the pope, but with different means of worship which may in fact be like you say, John.
Alas, I am not authority on Catholicism, being a non - catholic.
however, the last thing I want to appear as is anti - catholic like most protestant (even born again) Christians are in the USA. I have noticed that markedly.

One thing must be clear though...Catholics might be Christians, Christians are not Catholics: We Christians don't worship images, we don't pray rosaries, our high Priest is Jesus Christ, etc, etc, etc. You just need to search a little (maybe start with The Roman Emperor Constantine the Great) or simply go to your Pastor. To know these things, doesn't imply you're an anti-catholic.

Catholics don't worship images either, and Jesus is our high priest also. Estrellita, if you want, send me an email, and I can clear up some things for you.
