It was great to hear from James. I'm really encouraged. It's just another testament to the fact that when things feel out of control, God is working through them for his good. So, thank you James, you have helped me by sharing your struggles and victories!
God has really changed my attitude since Winter Vacation. He's helped me see that I am serving my students and coworkers as I would serve him and abiding in him always is the only way of happiness and holiness. Thank you all for sharing and going through the same struggle.
Ken, it's great to hear from you in Alaska! I formerly taught in New Mexico, teaching students from the reservation. Do you work in an Alaska Native community? I've been to Alaska (Sitka area) only once, but I could see quickly that there are many communities up there struggling. God is the only good and the only healer. Amen to that!
Good luck with your use of technology. God is with you in the "nuts and bolts" of teaching!

Monday starts my district's high state testing--I think I'm more nervous than the kids. I teach 3rd/4th gradeut than I have to combo. Sometimes I feel teachers get such a bad rap, but I have to stop and thank the Lord what I do have and realize that I cannot control what others think or feel about teachers-the only thing that is important is how I'm living up to God.

God, quiet our nerves as teachers and help us focus on you during testing. Protect our hearts and our students against any pain they may incur because of testing and the ways schools are. Help us get our esteem in you and not what others think about us, even our students. Holy Spirit, help us to live up to what you've called us to, to be obedient and joyful in you. Use us to overcome all the lies and pain in schools this week.

Jesus, I definitely need your wisdom and understanding right now. My middle school students are "pushing the envelope" as they say, and I'm trying to remember how you gave your love to those who tormented you.
