Luke 5:16 from today
It was interesting to note that what jumped out at me was what Brian talks about today in Luke 5;16 where Jesus withdraws to pray often away from crowds. And as I read that what came to mind was something a good brother has said to me many times "Prayer is the invitation to the heart of God" It is where we live our relationship with the Father, knowing what is on His heart, what his will is!

Russ, thanks for this post. I just wrote that quote down in my journal, love it. It also jumped out at me how often Jesus withdrew to go and pray and I tried to imagine what those times were like. I mean He knew what was going to happen and yet He would go off and spend time with His Father and talk. So often when life is a struggle for me I tend to withdraw from Him. Great eyeopener for me Russ. Thanks so much. By the way I have missed seeing around here so it was also nice to see your name pop up again.

5:16 - that's what I quote whenever I organize a camping trip, and coincidentally what I'll be doing tomorrow (the verse)!

it was good to hear brian talk about this today. i hear him read over and over how jesus would go alone and pray, but do i do it myself? no. but i did today! it's hard to break habits, and hard to form new ones. but i am going to go my best to form the habit of going on my own for a few minutes here and there to pray throughout the day.
