Getting farther than I can today, goals

just read the bio of Brian, and it hit me that as he was telling about his background, that it was sort of a stepping stone for him to this ministry, now looking on my own life, it seems to me that when I came to faith I had to start making my background, and it has never gone very far because the church I came in never incouraged me to get further with God or my skills
so my question is: how can I get that background for everything else and how do I get it to take off?
(I hope my english is ok, it is my second language, so I hope you understand)

Ole, I am sorry to respond so late, but I just saw your post this evening. If I am understanding you, you are marveling at how God led Brian every step of the way, so that he would be where he is now, doing what he is doing now. I am in agreement with you that his is a remarkable journey. I guess what I would like to tell you, is please don't worry that it is not happening with you, because it is. We don't see it when we are in the middle but our paths are laid out like stepping stones, each one making the next step possible. You don't need to worry about orchestrating this, God does it. It is beyond us. I will pray for you, that you would find joy in the path He has set for you, that each step would be visible as the last one is taken in obedience, and that you too would look back and marvel at where God has brought you.
