Hey
My name is Charlie and I want to talk about something that happened to me last year at a christian festival.
Last year I was given the gift of prophecy and at the same time something else happened.
I was praying with friends at the festival and suddenly they all turned to me placed their hands on my and began praying for me, as I'd just been praying for one of them. I guess God had decided now it was my turn to receive ministry.
My lips felt strange and begin to almost tingle and buzz a little bit like if hot embers were being placed against them, this was pretty cool I thought to myself and then very quickly I began to feel a very strange and forceful sensation in my hands and feet. I can only describe it as a roaring sensation that hurt a lot and at the same time felt good. It was almost like fire without the heat I suppose. Kind of like a burning pins and needles but it did not feel like mortal pain, it was a feeling like i have never felt before. I was told by some that this is a sign that you have received the gift of healing (burning hands) my burning feet meant that I was going to traveling a lot apparently and the burning on my lips was supposed to be to do with cleansing my vocabulary.
I was wondering what other peoples views on it were, and as to whether people could pray for me, for God to guide me and enlighten me in time as to what it means.

I have had a similar experience, but only in my hands. They begin to tingle (not painful though), more like an energy source that runs through them. As for the lips and feet, I have never experienced but do not rule it out. All things are possible with God.
I will pray for you!

I will pray for you and I will give you some guidance. If you are being called to do something for the Most High God, be willing to wait on the Lord and seek his will in these things. God will show you many things in this life but we must read his word and pray and grow closer to him. I will ask Jesus to show you what he is calling you to do and how to serve him. If you are being called to do something for him, it will be in ways you do not expect it. I have the gift of discernment and I can tell you this is just the beginning of things. God will use you and he will as well show you things. One thing to do though is to always pray anytime you receive something and look for it in the Word of God to affirm it. If it lines up with the Bible then it is something He may be revealing to you. The biggest thing God has shown me is to trust him no matter what I experience. I will pray for you and I know if you are being called, that calling will be something he will remind you of as long as you are alive. Peace be with you and May the Lord bless you and draw you closer to him.

I've watched lots of stuff like this, like on some of the IHOP services. Not sure what the long term results actually pan out to be like but there are lots and lots groups where stuff like this is common. I guess you'll have to keep us informed as you go along! :) I know for me, since pretty much everyone thinks they are specially chosen in some way, I look for what the person themselves is like. Do they bear the marks on their soul of being set apart for God? Not in some flashy gift, but in a heart hunger for God Himself, a willingness for holiness, a dedication of themselves to God, the dying away of the "flesh" in us. Even John the Baptist said "He must increase and I must decrease".... look at where the glory goes? is it His? These are the things I look for in all the self proclaimed "anointed ones".... Make sense?

Isaiah 6 6-7 came to mind reading about your experience. Perhaps go to the word and pray about whether it means anything to you. Really agree with Kelley above.
Also, burning hands and feet COULD mean what your friends said or it could not! I think God surprises us with these 'prophecies' sometimes and they are never quite what they seem (in a good way, that is, I mean!) All you can do is pray about it, give it to God and remember that sometimes God's prophecies can take years to be fulfilled, so don't be disheartened if they don't come true as it were straight away, God may be giving you a little heads up and preparing you for something later in life.
We also have to test everything people say to us where words/visions/pictures from the Lord are concerned. Again, give it to God....
Praying that God will speak to you through and about this.

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Christian https://slopeonline.org festival, where you received the gift of prophecy and had a profound spiritual encounter. Such experiences can be deeply personal and significant, and they often lead to questions and seeking guidance.
