GLBT "Affirmation"
I guess everyone has heard about Jim Wallis' decision not to run an add that advocates for Church's to both Welcome and 'Affirm' those living in alternate life styles of sexuality. I've been trying to defend what I understand to be the Biblical point of of view which I understand to be that God loves them, as all of us, and will accept them just as they are, but He loves them, and the rest of us, to much to leave them the way they are. I believe that God wants to deliver them from there captivity to sin, which includes there life style, just as much as He wants to deliver all of us from our bondage to sin.

I don't see there sin any worse than heterosexual sin or any other kind of sin.
But so many think they are doing them good by telling them "God made you this way" and such rot as that. I think those well meaning folks are doing the glbt much harm. I'm sure it's not an easy road to walk, but Jesus will walk with any of us through our trials if we allow Him to.

I just wondered what the thoughts of the community was on this. I hope I have not gone over the edge by broaching this subject here.

Hope to talk to some of you soon.

Welcome to the forums Phil. I don't know if there is an "edge" for a topic or not. But you should know that there is a similar thread called "The Gay Issue" a few threads down from this one. Take a look at what the community discussed a few weeks ago.

But just to add an opinion... calling well meaning advice "such rot as that" isn't helpful in persuading those who give that advice to change, if your intention is to change the advice givers too.

Again - welcome to the forums!
